There are many good and bad specs out there on the forums.
So here I go, I'll try to explain the specs.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
EVERY hunter, needs, NEEDS, The macro for steady shot weaving. (also read about your weapon speed sometime)
here it is.
/castsequence reset=3 Steady Shot, Auto Shot
Use it when doing PVE (makes sure your mana stays good, and keeps damage really nice)
Just make sure you mix in some other attacks too =]
Beast Mastery: A good spec for both pvp and pve, great if you like to do both. If you go beast master, get the I win button macroed.
/use Bladefist's Breadth
/cast Bestial Wrath
/cast Intimidation
/petattack
(you can replace the first line with another trinket)
That's more on pvp.
As a BM hunter, I found pve to be difficult. Going for your actual spec is your choice.
BM SPEC SHOULD HAVE: The Beast Within, Intimidation, Serpents Swiftness, and Imp Hawk (normally)
YOU DON'T NEED: Pathfinding, Imp Monkey, Animal Handler. (or else you will be laughed at)
Mix it up, find what you like and create your own spec.
Marksman: I loved this spec for a long time, still do, an almost flawless spec, great for pve, also good for pvp. If you're looking for big damage and pissing off opponents, choose it. (also nice if you really hate casters)
You'll be looking for attack power, and int, or else you'll run dry on mana VERY quickly. I love aimed shot, but it's somewhat useless in pve (don't hurt me for saying that) Since it takes so much time to cast. (LEARN TO MASTER WEAVING IN PVE)
You REALLY don't need: Imp concussive shot (it's nice when it procs but rarely does and 5 points is a LOT), Combat experience, I would say barrage is useless, but multi-shot is nice sometimes.
You REALLY need: Lethal Shots, Efficiency, Go for the Throat, Aimed Shot, Scatter Shot, Trueshot Aura, Master Marksman.
Again, mix it up, get what you like, just include the important stuff.
Survival: Alright, my hunter is currently survival, and it's nothing you would go for pvp, it's almost 100% pve smart.
If you're into raiding, and instances it's really nice. If you're not, don't go laughing at all the survival hunts out there.
First off, survival gets tons of pros and cons. You may top dps in raids, you may not. You need TONS of agility, cant stress that enough. You want attack power. (2k is really nice, but you'll start around 1.5k)
You NEED: Hawk eye, Humaniod Slaying, Clever Traps, Survivalist, lightning reflexes.
I just ran out of time, but I hope this all helps.
Basically, BM= pvp, then OK for pve. MM= pve, then OK for pvp, Survival= mostly pve, and you will cry during pvp lol
I tried them all for weeks at a time with each, and there is no favorite to me. just find what works for you!
