Ok, I'm new and I cant seem to lv my LW skills, it should b easy, right? I'm only at 17 but I cant keep up with my skinning profession. Cananyone tell me y i cant lv it? and how to lv too, lol.

First of all I hope you are a skinner as well.Second buy all the patterns that you can from the LW trainer,look in the AH as well for patterns but you can easily find all vendor patterns right here on thottbot.On the left side of the page is a proffesions box click on LW then a whole list of made items comes up.Then to the right of the made items it says how you get the patterns,click on VENDOR and vendor only patterns will come up,then you pick the pattern you are interested in and it will tell you where to get the pattern and who sells it.

Pretty simple. Skin everything you kill. Keep everything you get and obtain every pattern you can. Keep making things to keep your LW skill even with your skining skill or you will run into problems later.

Go to Leatherworking (LW) trainer every 5 levels to get new patterns/recipes. Only make items in the Orange skill range or occasionally yellow ones to level your skill up the fastest. Don't expect to keep your LW skill up with skinning skill.

As you skinning gets higher always save all higher level leather you will need it later. You can make the lower lvl skins into higher level leather skins but not vice versa. If you quest at or slightly below your character level, then you will always have tha appropriate level leather. Turtle, Scorpid, and Dragonscales are always a major pain to farm, so do not sell them keep them for later. Hides follow the same thought line but I only recoommend keeping one stack since you won't need them later except to make special stuff for your friends.

Join a Guild and help out by making lower level stuff for the Noobs in your Guild for free. All lower level stuff is hard to sell and not worth much. Around level 250+ you can start making some money with your product.

Don't waste $$ buying LW patternsin AH. The LW trainer will provide you with the patterns you need...until the higher levels. If you get a pattern dropped from a Mob that you are not high enough for put it in your Bank for later.

If you go to a Vendor that has a LW pattern that you don't have, then I suggest you buy it if it near or above your existing LW skill.  Many patterns on higher lvls are on timers and if you need them later it may take many hours, $$$ and a lot of fun out of the game trying to get that one pattern.

Last, take your time, savour the moment your only a Noob once. This is a GAME and meant to be enjoyed. Someone will almost always have played longer, have higher skills, better Armor, more Potions, better Guildies, and a level 70 friend that is just waiting to Gank you...at least you can aleays rez and keep playing.

it also helps to level in areas full of beasts.  If you are horde, the barrens are perfect.  I don't know about alliance.  Just take the tip from above and skin everything you kill.

relax.  you will never be able to "keep up with your skinning skill" with leatherworking.  they are meant to go hand in hand but since you can skin half to most of your kills, you will always level skinning up faster than leatherworking.  the crafting skills always take longer because you have to gather more materials than just leather and some of those can be quite hard to acquire and/or very expensive to buy.

my skinning was 375/375 at level 59 while at level 70, my leatherworking is still at 349 and has taken a long time to get there, especially in the upper levels.  just be patient and keep skinning.  you can sell what you do not need and you can also convert your leathers to higher leathers as your skill goes up and sell those so that you can afford the non-leather materials you will need for your craft.

I can only agree with you.

It is not a problem. Levelling your tradeskills takes time. Think about it. If everyone was a master crafter and you could whizbang level and get up with the best in no time, there would be nothing to aim for. No incentive to work on. Because you'd just be yet another.

That's also why many items are hard to even obtain the recipe for. Many rare ones you have to grind a lot of reputation for.

Same reason why there are extremely expensive mounts in the game. To keep people interested. To give people new goals.

And that is also why I dislike begging. I know I digress, but! People wail and wallow about needing money instead of getting their butts out and doing low level quests and starting out their trading skills.

With skinning or mining you can start making money almost instantly.

So listen to RValarian. It's not a problem. Just let it run its course and play the game.
