I've been checking this thread for a couple of days now and I'm starting to wonder, where's the flaming about who should get this?
Hunters should have first go with bows, guns and crossbows. With a speed of 3.00 its more useful to a MM hunter then a BM hunter.
Rogues/fury warriors could use it just for the stats if there are no hunters in the group that need it.
HOW ABOUT ALL HUNTER SPECS ARE GOOD HUH??
jeez calm down this is a hands down hunter weapon
1) Improved revive pet is quick cast if your pet dies you get it back as BM
2) Survival just whore agility for expose weakness and lightning reflexes increases all the physical dps massively by giving them 25% of your agility as attack power... which is your a serious raiding hunter can be upwards of 1k i.e. 250 attack power plus you'll crit enough that this is essentially perminant. All melee heavy raids NEED a survival huntard
If u play a emd game hunter like myself then you would kno that if you kno how to use ur spec correctly then any and every hunter spec offers excellent DPS. i play a MM hunter my self and i always am wthin the top 5 DPS'ers. so you should learn to play each spec before bagging on them.

Question: How far have you actually raided with your hunter? Before making a claim that MM is equally viable I'd hope that you have played AT LEAST through BT/MH.
In a way you are right, I could see MM being strong DPS when played correctly. However, the difference is MM does not offer as much potential in increasing the rest of the raid's DPS. Trueshot Aura is useful, but a geared/well played BM or Survival hunter will increase raid damage exponentially. I believe I have some experience in the area as I have played a hunter in SWP content. (Still on the Twins, so I may not see this bow for a week or two :( assuming it drops, hehe)
I hate to break it to you, but any intelligent, end-game raid leader will ask you to please respec, with TBC MM is just not a viable raid spec. The funny part is it used to be the opposite pre-BC, MM was prefered over BM. Who knows, maybe MM will get a nice buff when WotLK comes out. :)

You are very right and I wonder why can't everybody consolidate their beliefs like this?
Having to read crap in every single comment section to ranged weapons that relates to either hunter prio vs. rogues/dps warriors or hunter spec viability over and over again just makes me sick. I'd love to give you my opinion on these two subjects but it's so obvious to any serious end-game raider that's it not even worth repeating at the risk of fanning any flames or agitating people such as myself.
It's almost as if some of you visit every ranged weapon ID and show everybody how ignorant you are. Most people's comments involuntarily reveal that they are not even close getting the item at hand because their ignorance indicates that they cannot possibly be in a serious end-game guild. They've probably never even looked at a WWS report or even considered what is for the greater good of the raid performance.

Well, you're presuming a lot. First, a raid only needs one SV hunter and if the guild has a full time SV hunter, the other hunters should go for max DPS.
Second, BM hunters (and SV hunters) take a lot of grief from DPS meter-monkeys. While educated players understand that a BM hunter trades some personal DPS for group DPS and shifts a significant portion of his DPS to his pet, when I'm BM specced, I can't tell you how much grief I take from raids on the order of "Your not in the top 5 DPS with your gear!!! WTF?" And it is just a lot easier to run MM than educate the DPS meter-monkeys - who don't really want to be educated, and will give a BM hunter even more grief for "making excuses".

Not true, with the right amount of haste it is quite easy to drop 3.0 speed weapons into the correct speed range for a BM hunter.
I think somewhere between 150-190 haste would be preferable. Easy to do with Sunwell loot.

There has been a new effect added called "doesn't require ammunition" besides its kinda obvious with the stupid dps suggested that you won't be able to get the extra dps from using arrows with it. That'd be crazy

if a warrior or rouge gets this before a hunter, then they dont deserve to be alive
ya if warrior or rogue did get this they do deserve to die especialy since they are the only class that can have a legendary wepon outside Temphest Keep

read it again dude, it says shots fired will grant 8 mana, AND IF POSSIBLE, drain 8 mana from the target. It's as if to say, if your facing a mana using opponent, thats just that little boost in annoyance applied to every shot. You still gain 8 mana a shot if you use it against say, a warrior.

It doesn't needs. With ammo pouch the attack speed will be 15% faster, and if your bow slow as possible (like 2.60+) you gain more dmg with Aimed Shot as a Hunter. But if you want this bow to your Warrior or Rouge doesn't it matter if it's slow? Those classes haven't auto shot ;p only good for pulling.
I dunno bout you, but I don't put my arrows in a pouch...
Melee classes shouldn't try to compete with hunters at ranged combat; If you're a Warrior or Rogue, please ask and make sure the hunters in the group do not need it before rolling on a high level ranged weapon. A weapon having the combination of +Agility/+AP on it, and especially if it also has intellect or mp5, is typically intended for a hunter.

well i dont really care if there are rogues or warriors in my group if it comes up it would go to the hunter that would be akin to a hunter taking some legiondary plate that he/she just cant use guys and girls please think about what u are saying this is hands downs the best all around bow for an end game hunter that u can actually keep for the next upgrade which is what there are putting these types of weapons in for anyway

Got it. Love it. The armor penetration really helps get you to the 1500 Armor pen cap. Though I'm really looking forward to the 162.8 dps legendary... /drool.

It's true it has the highest bow dps in the game but because you use it's arrows that it creates and those arrows add no additional dps it's a bit more equal, not totally equal but a little bit more. It wouldn't make very much sense to take a 150+ bow and give it the timeless arrow adding an extra 50+ dps coming to 200+ dps that would be too rediculous. So take this bow, it has 97 dps you add the Timeless Arrow which adds like 55 dps so this bow all together with the Timelss arrow would have like 162 dps making it's dps not quite as good as Thoridal's but a bit closer. Now where Thoridal kills is it's Equips and it's crazy-high top-end.

someone knows what they r talking about. Yes at first glance, Thori'dal appears to be so far over powered that its unfair, BUT!!!!! You can't equip arrows, and since most ammo provides a +DPS bonus, it equalizes itself out.

Although, if you remember Steady Shot and how it functions off of base weapon damage and how the dps from arrows is ignored, you'll see that Thori'dal will get a HUGE boost because of that. Steady Shot is used just about as often as auto-shot, and if you add the 53 dps to the Steady Shot alone, you get a big dps bonus. The fact that it doesn't need arrows just makes it that much stronger!
man this a frekin excellent bow for any hunter spec,i would totally be cool if i got this bow even if the legendary one dropped and i didnt get it
