I must disagree with you because I don't think that any class "sucks".
No matter how awesome your lock is, they aren't getting to Shattrath without a mage.
Locks are good 1v1 but have poor crowd control. Mages are the best class in the game vs. multiple mobs.
All classes have their strong and weak points.

But locks have LOTS of weak points.....

As a lvl 70 mage, i have 9.1k hp (this is with crappy lvl 60 gear) and i have seen a mage with 12k hp so dont tell me they have no hp. Secondly, yes locks have weaknesses to mages and if you had a lvl 70 mage you would know that any mage could beat a lock: silence them, freeze both them and their pet and just keep frost bolting them until they die (i can kill a lock with 4 spells easy).

And no, a lock will actually find it very difficult to kill a mage because at lvl 70 you get a spell called spellsteal (obviously the name speaks for itself). I personally prefer to use this on priests to steal their shield, then the lock can't do anything to hurt me and after doing so it becomes very easy to beat a lock even without having to silence them.

Also, there aren't any trinkets that a lock can use that 'stops' them from getting sheeped. If you still think they're weak why dont u vs them in a duel and if they're still weak keep that to yourself coz no one else cares. When you said that locks can just banish a frost mage's elemental u said it as if that's all frost mages are good for, this is not true and they can also sometimes hit more than a fire mage (i can hit 2.8k dmg 3X in a row).

In conclusion, mages are NOT CRAP and i think every class has their pros and cons so before you decide to call them gay, sh*t crap etc. try using them at lvl 70 before you comment on them like that; And every time you click on the tables shutup and thank the mage for even caring.

some mages are better,some are not.
i disagree with sucks,as the only class that sucks at being themselves is warriors,as most lag.once u come across a good one however,they pwn you.
mages,in my exp have been pretty damn good against warlocks.
warlocks,yes,have more health,but we mages have ALOT of mana and often a good crit damage to ALL spells,only shadow bolt hits good in criting.

Well I only have +850 spell damage, but I really can't seem to make a dent in sl/sl locks.

I do the Frost Nova-->Improved Counterspell-->Frostbolt+Icelance
and they go down to 80% or something.

Then the siphon life + drain life kicks in, or drain mana kicks in and i get outlasted and die.

Lawl, Warlocks is easy to beat if you do the right thing.
Okay, they have dots. Who cares.
Mages a defiantely best at BGs when fighting warlocks.
Spellsteal shield, use Mana shield and then you are already more challenging from there.
But if your frost spec, you can also just do Ice Barrier, which makes everything double as better.
Frost Nova the annoying felhunter, and thats it.

Mages DONT suck. they take alot of skill to paly and have the best CC in the game. Warlocks take no skill, and most arent very 
good that ive seen,and they have horrid CC except for banish

You have no counter for Fear or HoT in there. Also god help you if you use anything other than instant casts against a warlock with a Felhunter out. DoTs are going to get to you unless you can kill the lock before its over and even then in a BG it won't matter. Then the lock also has curses. You're strat really only works if the lock is crappy, which is probably the case in BGs.

First ok i wanna see any team down kara with out a mage..or most other instances on heroic... and when it comes to dps no there not that great of dps the only reason it seams like this is becuase in a BG they just DOT 50 guys and do massivedmg to alot of people so they dont really do alot of dmg..

Second next time you want a port or are starting a BG for the first time tonight dont ask for a table becuase all mages suck...

Go frost spec(shatter combo) ok so this is how you beat a warlock(done many of times works great)  First you go invisible to get around them and have them lose tartget right after invisible blink target them and cast sheep if they have there imp CS it for a little less dps coming from them if they have there felhunter out get out your elemental and cast FN on the felhunter then cast frost bolt + ice lance at the warlock and Frost Barrier then charge and blink behind CoC AoE ice lance as you run back blink FN CS FB ice lance combo(i hit for 8k with this combo) and if they still have life left after this repeat and CS summon your water elemental again and this time just pure dps the warlock at anytime use IB.......

Okay...let me give this one a shot.

A lock will often start a fight by fearing and stacking on the DoT's. A mage can easily counterspell the fear, therefore counterpelling all shadow spells for the next 8 seconds. Sure, they've got immolate, but at this point, the mage can polymorph the lock. Cast Combustion if you're fire, or Ice Barrier if you're frost. Pull out your elemental and use his ranged Freeze on both warlock on demon. Icy Veins, and cast a few quick frostbolts; with the correct shatter talent you should get at least one crit, probably two from an additional frostbite freeze effect. Thats 75% health.

About now, the real fighting begins. Fear is cast, and the DoT's are stacked on. Two methods: One, use an insignia, Will of the Forsaken, or any other spell and Remove Lesser Curse. Add a fire ward for immolate. Corruption should be negated by Ice Barrier/Mana Shield. Second way, and my fav, is to Ice Block! Ice Block grants total immunity from spells, and I don't know if many have noticed, but gets rid of ALL debuffs INCLUDING curses, kind of like cloak of shadows.

Pop out to surprise the lock, cast cold snap, re-summon elemental, re-freeze, re-shield, re-crit, re-PWN! The mage has only taken any damage from the pet, and this is probably minimal depending on the pet.

A few fun mixes are Invisiblity and anything else that can screw with them; say, Gnomish Mind Control Cap and turn the lock on their pet. This strategy is based on being a frost mage; fire mages work too, but you need to have a LOT of mana since you're going to have to Mana Shield Alot. PoM...free instants much. A skilled mage can EASILY take out a skilled warlock. Mages are THE anti-caster class.

Ok people, stfu, and listen. This is from someone from a 70 mage, druid, and lock, and I've PvP'd quite a bit. Let me say this. WARLOCKS THAT ARE NOT SL/SL ARE COMPLETE BITCHES IN PVP.. "BUT i've seen destro locks pwn in pvp!!!".. Stfu. Newb. You don't know what the fuck youre talking about. Now, warlocks who are SL/SL have a clear advantages over mages. Their Soul Link buff transfers damage they take to their pet. ALSO, they have very few spells with cast time. "BUT WHEN I FIGHT WARLOCKS I JUST SHEEP THEM AND PYROBLAST THEM" Wow, Newb, seriously, SHUT THE FUCK UP. The only mages that can actually hold their own against SL/SL Warlocks are the 14/0/47 Frost mages. Their silence and spec allows for a lot of instant cast. The warlocks have another advantage, their pet can eat buffs and counterspell, this is pretty hard core. "YOU JUST SHEEP THEIR PETS, DUH". Have you ever played a mage past level 22? Then you would know demons cant be sheeped, now GTFO. Anyways, the other problem with the pet is it will be always on you because its almost impossible to freeze, (it has more resistance to magic that the warlock if thats even possible.) Sure, the mage has iceblock, but its pretty easy to reapply DoTs. Life drain is also a killer. Overall, I'd say the mage vs warlock fight is pretty overfair ONE VERSE ONE.
