have you ever faced a smiter. while it may be slower then shadow spells it still murders. and holy tree gives u a 50%cahnce to cast a instant one after a crit( any crit ) while smite may be weaker ( because nothing raises the power) it crits nicely and often.                    and please dont say im a dumby or somthing ive respeced way to many times and holy priest are beast 1v1 ( how can u kill something that over heals itself while bubbled and your your running in fear

Actually, LOLSmite does gain well from talents and Damage.  First of all, unlike Shadow Spells that are mostly quick casting or instant, Smite and Holy Fire are slower casting, so they get more from bonus damage.  This is further magnified by the free instant casts you can get from Crits.  There are some good talents for boosting Smite Damage too:  Force of Will gives 5% Damage and 5% Crit.  Focused Power gives 4% Hit.  Holy Specialization gives 5% Crit.  Searing Light gives 10% Damage.  That all together is 15.5% Extra Damage, 10% Crit, and 4% Hit which isn't bad.  And, of course, don't forget the the build generally has Power Infusion for even MORE burst damage.  And, of course, Force of Will and Focused Power DO affect the couple of Shadow Spells a LOLSmiter is probably throwing in (SW:P, SW:D).

I've said before in other threads, LOLSmite damage is fairly comparable to Shadow.  And for PVP, they're probably harder because they inherently have more PVP talents from having so many points to spend in the Discipline tree AND they're likely to actually have some healing talents and don't have to drop form to heal.  IOW, I'd much rather face a Shadow Priest than a LOLSmite priest in BGs or Arena.  That said, Disc Priests are still, by far, the hardest to kill in Arena.

i have a oure healing talent and 1v1 and 1v2 im realy good          1v1 i win unless its a rouge or bm hunter. 1v2 i will die but ill do alot of dps b im gone

How i Pvp'ed was using holy nova and instant smites
while healing, shielding etc.
I still prefer discipline though. Its just funner
