I have engineering and mining but thats me...
but if its your firstmage i highly recomend tailorign and enchanting...around 40-70 tailorig you get enchanted items that are disenchantable for basic starter mats for enchantoing so thats that and it only takes 1 profession slot for tailoring....its a good money make....and you can ,make bags ......so yup.
I definetly agree with the tailoring part but I dont know about the enchanting part though
i think the best proffesion is tailoring because you can make cloth armor. and bags. you can sell a bag for 1k g too
Imo, tailoring is a must. I am a lvl 70 mage with herb/alch as my proffs. I don't really regret this as I love my flasks and transmutation, but I would really like to have some spellfire or spellstrike cloth armor(almost as good as t4). And you need to have the specialization to wear these, at least the spellfire anyway. Throw in the fact that you can make bags and spellthread and tailoring is a goldmine. As far as the other proff goes, I would pick either enchanting or jewelcrafting, both can be quite lucrative. So thats my 2 cents, hope it helps.
Tailoring and skinning if you don't have a supporter alt. the skinning provide mats for a few recipes and a good source of income. enchanting is great but so expensive. Tailoring is a must for all clothies at 70 the stuff you can make that is bop is awesome but i've seen a few engineer tailors at 70 they just maxed engineering and then droped mining
I am doing Mining and herbs. They both do good at the AH, but now i'm lvl 68 I think I'll drop the herbs. Like already said, as a mage you need good cloth gear. So I think go for tailoring..
