Well like the title said i'm a lvl 60 Mage and i have no profession. Ive actually done pretty well for myself by doing a lot of instances which gives me money and armour. But now that I am turning 60 I'm gonna need a lot more cash that the instances are providing me with. I'm now curious to know if i'm totally screwed and if not or then what would be my best option as a mage to make money or would best suit my class??

ur not screwed, shudnt take long at lvl 60 to grind mats for professions but it will take time. choose ne profession or if u want money only choose two gathering ones
well, the best way to make money without spending is to take two gathering professions, one with tracking (herbalism or mining) that you can always have on in your mini map and skinning. that is all gathering and selling with no buying other than the money you spend learning the skills and the skinning knife or mining pick. leathers above and including thick and rugged sell extremely well, as do smelted metals.
Ur screwed...ok, not really, but be prepared for alot of boring leveling no matter what professions you chose. I would go skinning and mining if you want to make some good money, but both of these are gonna take hours and hours to level up. I slacked off on my mining, and needed to get from 250 to 300 before hitting Outlands, and it took me about 4 hours of circling Searing Gorge. The one benefit you will have is that at your level, you won't have to worry about mobs while you level.
There is a reason why leather sells so well. Many leather workers have discovered the "Nightscape Headbands" and "Wicked Headband" goldmines. At lvl 35 I was able to train high enough to make Nightscape headbands. They use thick leather I believe. VERY cheap to make. However, when they are disenchanted they make lots of cash from vision dust, nether essence and small radiant shards. the wicked headbands are even better but you can't do this at lvl 35. It'll take some investment in resources before you can make those but they really bring in the cash. all you need is a friend who is an enchanter. I helped a guy buy his epic mount and now he is disenchanting for me. Why run around looking for mining nodes when you can just drop by the AH, buy all the thick and rugged leather they have, make headbands, then disenchant. Farming is just plain boring. I don't play games to be bored.
where is this gold mine?
My referrence to a "goldmine" was metaphorical. By that I meant that the advice that followed can yield a lot of money. The only limitation is that a lot of other players are disenchanting and selling the reagents. Profits decrease because people keep under-cutting the sale price. I've seen the value of vision dust fall from well over a gold to about 40 silver.
Still, it is a reliable source of income. Just don't ruin the economy by undercutting or flooding the market. Add Comment
