I've never made a shammy before and i think it's about time i did.

can y'all help me out

Horde shammys are generally preffered because you get 2 options. I don't play as alliance so I can only speak from my experience.

The Tauren is liked because of their ability to warstomp (2 second stun with .5 sec cast time, 2 min cooldown)as well as a 5%hp boost.

The Orc (what I play) is liked because they get blood fury for 15 seconds with 2 min cooldown, 15% increased stun resistance and 5 axe expertise. Blood fury boosts attack power & spell damage (The amount increases as you level up higher). If you are planning on specializing in the enhancement talen tree, the orc is generally preffered because of the axe expertise. In the long run, it's all a peference of the player. Either race has its strengths and weaknesses.

I realized that I left out Toll Shammys... You get regeneration and berserk. I haven't read up on them too much, but I know that Tauren and Orc are the current favorites out there.

Trolls make ownage shammy regetion helps a lot in PvP its a trolls +5%  HP thing and Berzek (stuff my spelling) 10% attack speed and if u r below 70 % hp its 30 % attack speed (that + fluuly =ownzs

but realy i play allience (a decision i regret) and i now have a 62 draini shamy and i LOVE this class (enhance)
gift of the naru is awsome when lvling with no mana cost and keeps you heald prety good

Race really doesn't make that big of difference.  If you have some friend on one side or the other then play that side.  All the racial traits have their plus/minus.  Either way it work out to what side do u want play more.

I enjoy playing my Troll Shamman.  I looked up server stats and trolls and shammans were the least popular.  So I rolled it and have been having a blast.  Once you get to high levels with water shield, I can fight 10-15 mobs with no downtime, have taken on 2 elites at once and won, and one time fought 9 mobs in a row (couldn't kill the little Fers before the brought back adds) and didn't die.

The beauty of the Troll Shamman is Berserk.  My Shammy is enhance, so once I start getting into "trouble" which is below the 50% health line, I hit Shammanistic Rage AND Berserk, while continuously replenishing Water Shield.  SR allows you to replenish mana with every hit, and if you have Flurry AND berserk on you are hitting alot.  Plus I also found out that Mana will regen on WF crits.  What this 1-2 punch does is slow the damage I take AND rebuild my mana, so by the time both effects wear off and I am at 15-20% health, I have more than enough mana to heal up, AND redrop totems that are about to expire AND continue shocking.  The added health regen doesn't look like much on paper, but in the long run it does save you some time.

Now these benefits don't help the fact that Trolls are pretty farkin ugly, but the jokes are fun, as are the rastafarian accents.  We be Jammin Mon!

I like ally shammy cause of their presence . Gives you and party members extra 1% crit. They also get gift f the naaru which scales with +healing so you can get your own HoT with no mana cost.

I would trade Gift of the Naaru for any other racial in the game.
Elemental is nice for it scales with +healing, but for enhance roll Horde.

imo these are the best races for shammies: TAUREN because u get that fucking warstomp which is so op cause it means u can es sum1 then warstomp them and uve got urself a double intterupt tauren def for pvp, but if ur gna go enh all the way including for pvp and pve at 70 id suggest an orc lol ask any shammie how fun it is to fight a rogue with thier bs stuns if ur an orc u get the racial with stun resists and u also get bloodfury which boots ur dmg for 15secs which HEY! just so happens to b the same time ur shammie rage works for !!!
the draenei is my fav for pvp healing, thier racial heal means if u cast that first ppl genrally try to silence or counterspell or es etc u, but since its a holy spell it means it wont lock u out of any of ur other heals which is a pretty big bonus 0h and gift of the naruu and earthshield at the same time and ur unkillable lol

ok i say elemental orc cause in pvp rogueys cant stun u in pve u can pop blood fury and in raids u can run up to the boss  and bop it over the head when u run out of mana which believe me u will do in iliadan fights but lucky thing unrelenting storm means ur up and running in a minute or two.
