Im thinking of making a shaman, what is a good race to go with? Also, what things are hard about being a shaman (fighting, making money, what spec, armor or weapons Etc...)

i'd go with Draenei cause the area is pretty easy, i.e. finding the elementals for your totem quests and all that. 

for weapons, personally i used maces up until level 15-20 and then switched to staves because i think they work better, except you can't dual-wield.
