Well, its my second account after hitting 40 on a mage and i really dont like what Profession to make him any input would help?

Alchemy/Herbalism will help you with level 30 quest and isn't too shabby if you use it.  Trolls Blood pots really help and since you run so slow 1/4th of the time your leveling it's really easy to gather herbs.  You can get an herb bag in UC really cheap.

Blacksmithing takes a lot more to level and by the time you get the skill the weapon isn't as good as quest items.  I went it anyways because I've seen some pretty good 70 epics that are blacksmith only.

Oh and Cooking/First Aid/Fishing is a must unlike with other classes.

Umm I would suggest Mining and Engeiare (i cant spell)! One of the best tanking helms and stuff are from Enganer and it also makes all sorts of things including the best gun the Korum Destoryer.... i suggest you check it out!

Don't be fooled, Blackmithing IS the best. Engineering (yes that's how you spell it) is a close second for all their little toys.
