im not sure witch is the best profession for a rogue just starting out....
i was thinking between / herbalism & alchemy
or
skinning & leatherworking
or maybe even Engineering & mining
i just cant make up my mind, in wich one is best..
any pros & cons for these professions or wich one do you guy's think is best for a rogue just starting out..

PVP most useful is Engineering / Alchemy .
Leatherworking you can live without.
Yah, i went Alchem/Herbal-Master Elixir.
It feels good to have a solid stash of power up type pots at your disposal without shelling out all that hard earned gold.
If i were to roll a new rogue,i would prolly go Engineer/LW,
or Engineer/Miner or Enchanter/JC.
Eng/LW-will help with trinkets and Epic gear
Eng/Miner-helps with the turnover of gold and Trinkets.
Ench/JC-you can craft your rings,gems and then enchant them,and disenchanting is a really great money maker and is piss easy to lvl,im leaning towards Ench/JC because ive pickpocketed tonnes of different stones from many types of
NPC's,plus i like the idea of having 8 to all stats,just off 2 ring Enchantments,thts 8 more base stats than alot of other people.

I went mining/JC. I bought my mount on getting level 40 and my epic mount on getting lvl 60. I'm level 70 now and I might be able to raise 500g in a week, from banked mats, to get my flying mount.
The various statues you can make save you the effort and expense of making swiftthistle tea, as they are on the same cooldown. Also note that the tea energy dropped from 100 to 42 with the 2.4 update.
I actually went skinning/mining. At 33 I had 175g with above average gear and enchants. On my server copper stacks go for about 2g each so it's a quick way to make money, as is skinning. If I have a lot of gold, I can buy what I need when I need it, and not worry about being short.
With Leatherworking you CAN make epic gear equivalent to what? T1/2? I mean I would say that you can make money off LWing but if you are an avid PvPer there are better benefits found within engineering and Alchemy.
Poisons is arguably (some don't call it a profession) the best profession...

LW is for the BOP Primalstrike set that for Rogues is a phenomenal must have set that only LWers can make.Three pieces of gear compared to just a headpiece for engineering.You pick a profession for the benefits it will give you at level 70.Also the best chestpiece in the game and the second best gloves in the game are made by LWers.Whoever says LW is not worth itobviously does not know his class as T-6 guilds Rogues all have LWing with those who do not switching to LWing.Gold is a non factor after your epic mount it will just stack and stack.Do yourself and your guild a favor by having LWing.
Primalstrike set is not that great. Let me explain why I think this.
I will use the bracers as an example:
Primalstrike bracers AEP (pvp) = 71, MAEP (PVE) = 49
Vindicators leather bracers AEP (pvp) = 98, MAEP (PVE) = 61
these pvp bracers are better for both pvp and pve, I dont know the mats for the bracers but 20wsg marks and less than 12k honor is not hard to get for the pvp ones.
Edit: you are right about the chestpiece though it is the best , the gloves are also the best (not second best) however these are BoE so 'could' be purchased
