ok, here's the question, why do people go frost? i'm not looking down on them because i was full frost untill lvl 65. but what is the main reason u go frost? is it for the kiting? is it for the freezing? u can own thing much above ur lvl with frost and i know this. i killed a lvl 59 elite and 2 lvl 57s at the same time when i was 56! but is it the water element? just tell me why u are or were frost.

All of the above. I love it when a 50-51 warrior show up in a bg and I'm alone with them. I summon my elemental and let it take the warrior out while I keep my distance. I also find the elemental useful for people who show they don't realize that when the player dies, the minion dies by attacking my minion instead of me.
I also like when I get my ass handed to me in a bg, there's a chance my attacker will be frozen in place. Kind of a "ha-ha, you killed me but now you're stuck". In ab I've been able to rez after that happened and finish them off.
crit on the shatter
slow effects water ele and its much better for pvp it is crappy for raid which is why raiders always spec fire
I was fire until 51, then went deep frost. Much easier leveling, hardly ever die, frost AOE leveling/grinding rocks, and pet for those "oh crap" moments. I will respec eventually, want to try POM Pyro mage, and full arcane mage, just to see what that's like, but for now, frost has been very very good to me.
the thing is that with deep arcane is that u get all this extra damage. and an instant slow move. this move is equal to frost bolt. i like deep arcane with a little fire. it's not as good as frost for pvp, but it's better than deep fire. so it's more of a mix between raiding and pvping.
I respec'd to fire a few times, but I missed the ice barrier so much I had to change back to frost...

Well ..I heard of the above reasons to choose frost and i think it,s all up to what the player what to have and do ..
my Be mage is now lvl 46 and I had set a point in all 3 talent so she have the same in all ... works fine for me
my fire mage can 3 shot a mob my level. pyro, fireball and fireblast. i take more dmg than if i was frost but i usually kill em before they touch me.
as for frost what level is good to start blizzard aoeing??
people go frost to gain more ocntrol of mobs and players in pvp.for example frost nova has reduced cooldown.coldbite gives chance with frost spells to freeze.and it helps alot in pvp cuz frost spells dont cost much mana and and have shorter casting time than fire.plus its more stabile dps
ok my reason for frost:
arena: great crowd control, sufficient dmg, high crit/chance of crit when frozen battleground: do plenty of damage, if someone actually attacks me i can freeze them and get away or freeze them and kill them soloing: frozen enemies get crit almost every time, and they're frozen in place if i accidently pull 5 or more enemies, i just frost nova them and use some AOE's... if that doesnt do it, i use my elemental's freeze... i even have cold snap if im still in trouble instances: dont aggro as much as fire mages, if i do manage to i used to have ice block, now everyone has it so i have icy veins... even better eh? lack a little in dps but i make up for it by not dying or OOM in boss fights if i aggro a mob, i can slow them, have an extra 1k shield (ice barrier)... doesnt last long but it can make a difference Add Comment
