ok this is a common question, "is AP beter then agil?"

and i found that both r very good, AP is for just damage and agil is for ap, crit, dodge, and armor. but agil stacking isnt for all hunter spec's..

for a SV it is the MAIN stat that u want on ur gear, just b/c u need for it for EW.

for MM hunters u would put mostly agil on ur gear but wont hurt to have crit on them either.

and for BM hunters AP is where u would be.

and to answer another question many ppl ask, "well how much AP do u get from agil?"

well u get the same amount of AP as agil u add..so if u get the 35 agil to 2h u will get 35 AP..ez as that

the reason i think that each spec needs a diffrent stat is b/c each spec depends on somthing diff. like a SV hunter needs 800 or more agil for EW, a MM hunt needs agil/crit so they get those big crits of 5k and higher. and a BM hunter needs ap to have 800dps and higher

wow thanks for that. I am a BM hunter and have always stacked on AP and have been told time and time again i'm wrong for doing it. so i always go back and check thinks out and still come to the answer that i want AP over Agil. but you have explained it better then i can lol thx.

i thought u get 2 AP per agi?...if its 1-1 i can totally see why u would stack AP...i always thought they made the anchants like equal.. like say u could pick between 10 agi or 20AP (im just picking numbers)...i thought they both gave the same ap in the end

from what i have heard and read in the past it used to be 1 agi = 2 AP, but they changed it to 1 agi = 1 ap.

I am a BM hunter (43/0/18) and i prefer to stack agi b/c by going BM/SV i lose a bit of crit by not going more in SV or any in MM.  so i prefer agi to get a bit more crit.  yes i understand i could have a higher dps with more AP but id rather have better crit, and dodge and armor for sticky situations for when i have to grab aggro from a healer that needs saving.  its just my game play style in which i prefer to have agi over AP.

this Agility vs. AP, is purely based on ur game play, ur gear, ur race, and ur spec.  yes race plays a big role b/c certain races have certain higher stats.  thats why u see so many night elf hunter, b/c they have higher base agi.  the best thing to do (even tho it my be expensive to do) is to test out different chants, gems and gear that offer different amounts of agi and AP.  just find out what fits u.  theres no right or wrong way to gear/spec a toon....there are many successful builds out there that arent the norm.

Stack Mostly Agility. Not AP. :| It is ok to have some AP gems (I know I have one or two because 20 AP gems are very easy to come by) but Agility is simply a superior stat. All BT/Hyjal/SWP Hunters will have agility gems up the ass, no matter what spec. This rule flows down threw all PvE encounters. All the bonuses you get from agil outweigh any boost of ranged AP you would get by gemming just that.

ya np, the only reason i dont stack agil or have even try'ed is b/c if i get a mob on me... for 1 theres something wrong w/ the tank..and 2 im going to die anyway...but even if i had dodge or armor anyway i would die just as fast. but if i were MM u would, just for the bal of AP and crit that agil can offer.

ok i asked someone in game and they said that for pvp u stack ap because of a high resilience target its better to get ap...this made sense to me...also said for pve mm hunts should stack agi...but now what im wondering is should i stack ap for pvp and pve as a bm hunt?

no for pvp u need more crit...b/c w/ resil gear on u make it harder for some1 to get a crit on u...so getting more ap on ur gear wont do as much as if u stacked crit..thats y pvp gear have more crit on them and less ap then pve gear

For PvP go AP/Crit. PvE as BM stack Agil.

yeah i understand the whole resilience thing and how its anti crit...but what this guy was saying is that u stack 2 ap instead of 1 agi and not have to rely on trying to crit against a high resilience target...u would just constantly be doing more damage and not have to worry about crit

I guess I still need further understanding on this one.  If 1 agi= 1 AP, then why would you want just the AP when you get more by just adding the agi?

Thanks for your time on this.

1 AG is = 1 AP

main reason i'd say go for agility, is for a few reasons. first, every point in agility adds not only AP, but Crit& and armor. i'm a full BM specced with 20 points in MM. i have about 650 agility at this point on my hunter. i've found that agility is far more useful nomatter what the circumstances. my cat has extra armor as well as me, so he's a far better tank, my attack power is about what it was when all i did was stack AP on everything, but my crit rate is through the roof now. If you're stacking AP, yeah, you might hit me for a bit more dps, but i'm gonna dish out 3 times the crit hits that you will, and that makes the difference right there. as a level 70 hunter with my full gladiator set and some nice weapons(Terok's Quill rocks) i usually can hit an opposing level 70 player or PVE enemy for a good 3 crits in about 10 seconds. to make my point even more obvious, my buddy is a full level 70 hunter, got a full ebon dragonscale armor set and other rares, but pretty much all his armor is stam, int, and ap.

sounds great considering his AP is about 200 greater than mine, but when we duel, to make things fair, we put our pets on passive and just try and outshoot each other. in every case, his a$$ is toast in about 10-15 seconds flat. gimme that amount of time, and i hit him for a good 2-3 crit shots good for 2000-2500 dmg per shot, case closed. i dont think he's even gotten me down past 60% health when we fight, and we basically have the same amount of health, roughly 11,500.

I'm sure everyone has their own opinions, and i'm sure different things work better for one person versus another, but i've been a hunter now for  solid 2 years, tried every spec, tried switching up AP, AG, just trying to outlast people by going with super stamina, lol, but agility is the main key for a hunter in my opinion.

yeah but the diff is that ur gear is pvp gear with res and his has no res...makes a big diff when dueling..if u were to go up against full venge gear u wouldnt be getting those 3 crits in 10 sec...i mean i understand what ur saying...seems like i could stack agi at the beggining of arena against low res targets in like reg gladiator but i still think i would stack ap further into arena because of the high resilience people would have with merc and venge gear.. btw Palorath u can either get gems that give like 8 agi or 16 ap...with 8 agi u get 8 ap with some crit chance and armor but with 16 ap u abviously get double the ap but no extra crit chance and no extra armor
