is it better for a warr tank to have a slow wep that do big burst or a fast wep that do the same dps?.........Fast/slow..?

FAST weapon

you will get aggro faster and when you need to tank many targets, you need to be fast

And because you can always miss your attacks, fast weapon is something which you can trust on

sure slower weapon can sometimes make more dps, but that's pretty much the only good side which it has in tanking

Serious men, we're talking about tanking here, not DPS. On raidbosses you do a heroic strike almost every swing, so the faster=more treat.

The faster weapon wil also suffer les from a doulbe missed atack wich means les change to lose aggro.

Theres a reason none of the high end tankweapons are faster then 2.0, I consider 1.6-1.8 perfect for tanking.

I don't PvP anymore. Hell I never even touched arena. As for you facepalm, look at all the Pre-BC weapons. And your attacks should not just be heroic strike there hero.

Also the slow weapon allows for more rage gen per hit. Sure a fast weapon can hit more often, but the rage gen is smaller. Try it some time.

First of al, al weapons provide the same rage over time but serious, how much rage you get from atacking? Indeed, I get 7 rage per hit with my mallet of the tide(SSC).

A bos that hits you can fil your ragebar in one truckload. More heroic strikes=more treat on bosses and les risky for misstreaks on trash(where you often want to hit somthing cause mis/mis/dodge/parry/block/parry do happen).

COme on guys....there is ZERO debate here.

Go look at the top raid guilds in the world and look at their MT's. ALL...I repeat ALL have a fast weapon.

No one who has ever tanked anything Heroic or above would even argue this.

Really if you ask me it dosent matter, since both devastate and revenge are not dependant of weapond speed.. you just spam the button when you get the rage for it and the attack goes off instantly. So weapon speed dosent matter.

For tanking you should be using Shieldslam, shield block, revenge, devastate and heroic strice once you gotten 5 sunders in. For everything but heroic strike the weapon speed dosent have any effect since they all activate as soon as you press the button and not when the weapon is timed to hit again.

Thus, go for the one with the most dmg and ignore the speed.

And as for tanking mutlible targets you will be drowning in rage anyway so just Thunderclap and rotate Devastate and you'll hold the aggro just fine.

ok let put it  this way with a slow wep you can do my dmg as in 1 hit.
but as you hit with that i've test a 1 hander can do the same thing but fast.
just saying its just up to you.

Mallet of the tides from SSC tier5 region speed 1.7
Unbreakeble wil from MH                  speed 1.6
The brutalizer, best tankweapon pré-SWP speed 1.6
Tank weapon from SWP of wich im to lazy totype the name, speed 1.5

yes!, I still think you should have a slow weapon, primarily because you WILL be spamming devastate.

I rarely use devastate tbh. If I tank one mob I do ss, revenge, 2xdevastate(4x heroic strike already with a 1.5 speed weapon and 2 devastates), this is for single mobs and bosses and you ofcourse replace a devastate wich is your weakest treatability with thunderclap every 30sec, demoshout ever 30sec, com shout every 2min.

So lets take a weapon of 1.5 speed shal we to get with the GCD.

Lets take a 2min rotation.

In 2min you'll do 90x heroic strike.
And if you keep on the rotation you'll do 2 devastates every 6sec, 20 rotations=40devastates

40-4xdemo-4xTC-1xCom=31 devastates.

On trash I might use it twice on a 3 mob pul and thats it...

A fuck why do I do this actualy, its a damn fact that faster weapon is better for both bos and multimob tanking by elitejerks ffs.

Be a noob if you want too but most tanks know better luckely.
