Could someone explain exactly what is meant by this?

I respecced demo when I hit 70 just to try it out, and I have to say that I never enjoyed playing my lock more!  But given our nonexistent abilities to escape, bubble, teleport, and our LIMITED abilities to fear ( if it's not outright resisted, it is very easily broken), slow, stun or otherwise keep melee players off our delicate cloth wrapped asses,  I think that what once might have been an awesome class to play is now mediocre.

I feel that my pets are ineffective, both in defensive capabilities and offensive abilities in pvp!

If I want to kill a hunter I HAVE to do something about his pet. If I can't fear it, then its high damage and attack rate keep every spell pushed back and the most I can do is stand there and be a delicious snack.

But no one worries about a locks pet! even the succubus- the only one with decent cc, and rogue can 2 shot her!

our pets should be more formidible- at least in pvp!

as always your comments are appreciated bananaz!

Er...why me?

Oh well whatever. Case in point:

In S1, my Felhound dies in about 15 seconds to a Rogue
In S4, my Felhound takes ~4 seconds to die.

Pets don't gain the full % of their masters stats, and don't even gain some at all (e.g. resilience). Like say if I get 100 stamina, my pet gets only ummm...dunno...30? Whatever it is it's a low number. If I get 1 billion resilience, my pet gets none.

So that's why pets die so easily, and people want pet scaling (Mages, Druids, Shamans, Priest (lol) too)

i dunno what blizzard is planning to do for us. But I love my lock. I am demo specc'd and me and my felguard have a blast. the only thing i hate is that my guy can't heal himself. But what I do is send in my felguard and dot the target with immolate, corruption, curse of agony. I shoot off two shadowbolts and then wand him to death... I am only a lvl 62 so I will see if my way works for too much longer.

Lifetap drain life is faster than wanding, and gives you Mana/HP back overall.

Er, you bananaz, because you usually post a relevant response to most posts in these forums, and I have learned alot from reading them, so, thanks again for your input and for sharing your experience and knowledge.

As far as scaling, does anyone know if hunters' pets retain all of their abilities, dps, armor and hp when the hunter tames them?  If so, maybe a good fix would be to broaden and empower locks enslave demon abilities.  If I could summon a badass demon that actually had some formidible dps, that would change things a bit!

No no they don't get all the abilities (some yes). Elites become non-elite, but the rest is harder to explain. See, all Hunter pets have training points that they get from friendship levels, and they can use those to learn stuff (increased armor). All the pets learn the same things, with a few differences between them.

They all learn Bite (or some variation with a different name), Sprint (again, or equivalent), but skills like Lightning breath are unique to wind serpents, or Shell Shield. To teach your pet a higher rank of bite, for example, you have to enslave...err..tame a mob that has that ability, use it a while, and then you can teach your pet how to use the new rank of bite.

All pets get growl baseline, without any need for training points (I think)

They also scale badly, too. But hey, Enslave Demon is hax.

EDIT: Damn I forgot what I was going to say...err...OHHH I remember.

All pets have a normalized attack speed of 2.0, (used to not be the case), and so that's why people used to go tame a certain 'King Bengal' for his ~1.4 attack speed, and his passive ability that made him attack really fast. But now that ability is an example of one that the mob has, but not when it's tamed.
