Congrats Wilburt. I stopped playing WoW for eight months and it felt great for those eight months. Did a lot of road cycling and mountain biking, hiking, a camping trip, went out and met tons of people, went back to play EVE Online for a month and became a beta tester for Lord of the Rings Online. Good times.
Cool, I think I'm never going back...man that game was REALLY addicting lol.
If u not going back give me your ACCOUNT and PASSWORD
it is stupidly addicting. you just need to be able to realize it and balance.
Yeah but its great fun especially if u have friends in guild / on realm , not to mention all the places ( BT / ZA / SSC etc )
i personally dream of pwning lady vashj but its as i said a dream .... ( youtube.come - how to lady vashj ) nd watch the unbelievbly long fight which is super tough lol )
Wilburt, please would you share more about your quitting experience?
Why would you even make this thread?
personally I think that WoW is NOT an addiction but it's only an addiction if you make it so. learn to balence your life, and you were probobly some scrub level 40 and couldn't make it to 70 so you just quit
Why, after quiting WoW for good, would you post on a WoW forum? It seems you have a boring life.. you quit WoW and have nothing else to do obviously, go do something besides posting on thott.
lol, good for you bud, i am fortunate enough to have some RL friends in wow, makes it more of a game rather than a social scene, i can understand however that some peeps can find themselves enjoying the life of their characters more than their own lives, But what the hell, who cares, least everyone ends up having fun in the end!!
good job quitting wow, it's really addictive, but wtf why post on thottbot forums about it? trying to get other people to quit? bragging about not playing wow for 3 days?
Kronoa-That was really mean...I got to level 62 not to the "scrub" level of 40.I actually quit because I got bored of WoW.
So you quit because you were bored not addicted?
bragging about not playing wow for 3 days? i haven't played in 8 days :O
(about 30 minutes after i bought my 5200g worth swift flyer i stopped and ..well .. obviously .. got addicted to gta4 now) So you quit because you were bored not addicted? I was bored.

You quit because you were bored and now your fun times include posting on thottbot even after you quit the game for good.I mean man that is crazy you were bored playing WoW but not bored posting here, and then you say how great it is to be WoW-free and you still post on a site that WoW players frequent.I mean you could get better chat in game man than here so I really dont get it.What I think is there is more than meets the eye, maybe your account ran out and dont have the $$ to buy a new subscription yet or your parents are opposed I dont know exactly but something is odd with this picture.
£100 says your playing again by now 11 day! >.<
Bored with WoW?
Are you playing it right? Don't tell me you haven't left SW or IF yet. No seriously, could you elaborate on why you're so bored. Are you dying too often, not able to complete the quests, just tired of killing???
maybe he just simply doesn't like the game. just because most ppl do doesnt mean everyone does (I personally love it :P). but if he doesnt like it, he doesnt like it simple as that, end of story
It's apparent that Wilburt has a need to quit. If it's not good for his life, it's not good for his life. Personally, I'm pulling for you, W.
(Maybe gameboy tetris: it's fun and very easy to put down for any reason.)
score one for butterhead
I quit because the game was getting bored, like i said before. You see,I had just entered Zangamarsh,I got all the quests there and looked at the time.I had been playing WoW for around 4 hours straight.Thats when I realized that WoW was not very fun because when i finish all those quests what am i going to do?Probly go somewhere else to quest and get camped and ganked by a 70(I was a mage). Then I thought What am i going to do at 70?Go and raid a boss and try to get some armor that was going to be outdated soon.Plus,it would cost me more cash,real-life cash, and overall time.Thats when i look at my social life.My friends didnt come over like they used too,and my grades were still good but not the best.Thats when I decided to quit I sell all my stuff, say goodbye to all of my "friends" give all my cash to my RL friend and say in trade chat"Bye everybody"(I heard numerous replys going"Cya in a week").After a week of quitting WoW i felt lonely and started to see that in the time of playing WoW i was addicted(yes i admit it). Then i started to get my social life back.I joined airsoft and MY ENTIRE NEIGHBOORHOOD joined it to with me(even 5 and 6 year olds had at least a pistol). So now i just come on thottbot to look at this thread or coz's posts(yes i still remember you).I started WoW in summer last year and quit almost before summer started. My highest level character was a 62 fire mage(Icyfire Thank you and have a good day.:)

Good stuff. Do what it takes to get yourself in order. That goes for anything. If you go out to the club and binge drink til your liver dies on you, that is of course a big negative. As with WoW, if you're spending too much time in the game, then quitting would be a positive. If you decide to come back later, you will know how much to play and when to go out. It's just how everything is in the world.
