if u have the mats already then i would suggest selling the chants for a lil less than the avg AH price.  But if someone brings u the mats then they are usually expecting it to be free for ur services.  i do not like this and believe all chanters should stick together and charge a lil extra for chants, especially the better chants.  but getting all the chanters on a server to form a "union"  (lol) is damn near impossible.  but if u are trying to lvl ur skill then just do chants for free if they bring em to u.  its a very cheap, easy, and quick way to lvl up.  And every once in a while u will get a huge tip for ur troubles.

however i do not recommend traveling all over the place to do chants. pick a city and tell ppl to come to u.  we chanters can waste a lot of time jumping from city to city and time is money.  if they refuse to come to u then tell them to either have a nice day or tell them u charge to travel...nothing big but enough for ur troubles.  it just takes a bit of time and practice to feel out the market to see the prices of other chanters and the AH prices of mats.  it took me a while to master it.  what i usually when i have a lot of mats is go to the AH and check the prices to see how much im gonna sell chants.  after i have an avg price of a mat, i then take 80% of  that AH price and make it the price for my mats for the chants.  for example if arcane dust is 1G in AH then i make it 80 silver from me.  then if i am selling assault to bracers (6 arcane dust) then i would price it at 4.8G per chant.  this is to keep people from just going to AH and buying other ppl's mats and then come to me wanting a free chant with no tip.  I make it so that i sell the mats i have and get the extra point i need to lvl my chanting.

hope this helped some....srry for being so long

Depending on the enchantment and the level required to do the enchantment and also the rarity of the recipe for the enchant I usually do the following:

Their mats, common trainer learned enchant, low level = 2g-5g

Their mats, common trainer enchant, over level 250 = 5g - 10g

Their mats, rare recipe = 10g - 20g

My mats = cost of mats on AH + 10g

Sometimes I charge less if the enchantment will level me a profession point.

Enchantments are an awesome advantage to every player and it is time consuming and costly to level this profession.
It should be expected to get a decent tip for your hard work.

yeah it should be expected to receive a tip for every chant that we do, whether we use out mats or theirs.  sadly tipping rarely happens....at least to compensate the lvl and rarity of the chant.
