All classes are 'hated' equally as much.  When people talk smack about a class, they're expressing their annoyance on experiences they had with various players in those particular classes.  Most people who demean a class are usually those who A) have not played those classes to their potential and/or B) have almost always seen bad players play those classes.

It's like in another thread that someone talked crap about Holy Paladin healing being worst than a Resto Shaman.  I've seen Resto Shamans heal way worst than Holy Paladins and vice versa.  It's all about gear, playing style, commitment to your game, and lack of lag.

That's it.

But priests will never be hated no matter if its disc or holy or shadow u cant rly say any of them 3 suck ... disc = god in pvp , shado = good dps , good mana battery , Holy = great healing in pve

Retri pallys do some awesome dmg and its only up to a person to roll 1 .... i personally have a holy priest with 2 k bonus healing and i am thinking on making a lock cus u kno i just like them :) (dps awesome , mana top awesome , can ss , can banish well its a good guy to have in any raid / heroic)

It's not true, but everyone thinks it is. Of course Paladins can put out good DPS (well not as prot, but then who uses prot for DPS?)

the only statistic known (to me) that can back it up is from arena events - which are far from the normal chaotic open for everyone pvp events.

in a random duel, random pvp encounter.. same-ish/not uber geared  both classes encounter. my bet is most of the time the lock will win


but lets not turn a topic about paladin dps into a are locks overpowered topic eh ;O

yh locks do pwn and do great dmg output , i personaly  never been in party with retri dps for 3 months on WoW ... but i saw vidoe of 1 pwning trash in ssc so i liked it , talents in retri tree r quite nice too so i am making alt dps lock / retri pally ( orc lock most likely as i am not a fan of belfs)

They probably just met a lower level pally and based it on that

Well it obviously depends on their gear, though I'd hazard a guess at 80-90% of a pure DPS class' DPS.

My pally does about 800 dps non crit and that's with only three epics.

Speaking of DPS Paladins, can someone paste in a Thottbot item score formula for Retribution/DPS Paladins? I can't find a good one online though I've looked very hard.

I was running a dungeon one time with a Warlock who was just terrible. Battles were taking too long, and such. Eventually we kicked him out, LFM, and found a ret pally who was one level lower than the Warlock. The ret pally was amazing, and each fight appeared to be over in a just a few seconds. He struck me as a rather good player, so I'm not saying ret pally's are by default big damage dealers, but I saw first hand proof that they could be.
