Hi hunterfellas
Im a bit curios about one thing, because I really dont get it. Why is it so common to call everybody a noob, just because they havent played wow for years and therefore dont know everything? (prob. none does :))
Nobody is "born" a lvl 70 epic hunter, so I think all you experienced players should give a little space to us newcommers to learn without being yelled at and get our heads ripped off for "asking stupid" or wearing blue/green. Please, if you know that much: give us a god hint instead of a slap.
Im a leatherworker skill 370 (exp. to be 372 today :))and fighting to get to 375 and make my first epic gear. But it takes time and loads of g to get there. Payed 650 g for 2 recipe and a lot more for mats while levelling, even though I farm big time.
As Blizz say: A little politeness goes a long way - and most people would never talk to people in real life, as they do in wow.
Meet a lot of sweet, nice, funny and crazy people as weel - not all is rude and yeah....I love playing wow :D
Thank you :))
Aurio
(hunter lvl 70 for less than 2 weeks and still blue/green)

Everyone was new at one time. You can see a persons true personality on the net. I call them "internet warriors". Nothing but punks and bullys who in real life are nothing. WoW seems to be the only thing they can excel at and they run with it. I've never called nor will I call someone a noob. And most of the time when I'm not busy with guildies I'm helping a lower level out. It is true..politeness goes a long way with me.
People get big heads and think they are "all mighty" on a game. I mean sure it's a bit annoying having a level 5 come up and ask you the same question 5 times but hey we all asked questions in the beginning and we would not have gotten to where we are without asking them and the people who answered. I mean look at the hunter forums it's the same way. People bashing each other over a question. Some of these kids are just upset cause they know in real life they'd get beaten into the ground cause they're sissies so in an imaginary world (wow) they are [Ispankyou] the epic 70 warrior that no one can touch so they can be hard asses on the net. Grow up kiddies.
thats so true but its wrong when player call u noobs i just say grow up theres room 4 every1 on wow and when players call u thief because u took another player item without telling then the player goes apeshit and calls him a noob mayb he hit the wrong button ur didnt now what do
no, not all beginners are noobs. i hate the term personally, but when certain situations rise, i have to admit i even call a person a noob once in a while. for me, i've been playing for a good few years now, have 4 level 70's in full epic gear, but i'm also part of a new and growing guild that has mostly low level players and a lot of players trying to get to 70. i remember how much it sucked not knowing what it meant to roll on a chest in an instance, or know wtf DoT or AoE or CC'ing a mob meant, half the terms i still don't,lol, but i enjoy helping new players. As someone who's done a bit of everything, tried a ton of toons, had a ton of twinks, i know a lot of teh tricks of the game. if i call someone a noob, it's usually another level 70 who ended up screwing a group who's running an instance and didn't fullfill his end.
for instance, me and my guild was running mana tombs the other night and it's me and 3 from my guild, and a priest from another guild as our healer. it's me( a hunter) and 3 warrors, so a healer is obviously key here. well, he was a total noob, because in the middle of our fights, he decided it was a great time to disenchant about 5 items he got during the raid, we all wipe, he gets killed, comes back i guess because he had a soulstone or something, and instead of helping to rez us, says"sorry, gotta run, time for bed" and leaves. Now.... that's a real freakin bullcrap noob a$$ move, lol.
So, new players, no, you're not noobs, you're new players, beginners, whatever. players that pull bullcrap moves like that, are NOOBS, or more directly, Douchbags!,lol
Sooo agree on that one lol
so noobs are ignorant and new players are NEW players.
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Newbie is a slang term for a newcomer to online gaming or an Internet activity. Newbies may be bullied by more experienced players of some games. The term is also used more broadly for newcomers to any activity where their inexperience puts them at a disadvantage. Although it is often derogatory, it need not be so and is sometimes used neutrally, without implying a value judgment. Not to be confused with "Noob" (see below).
In some online games, usually MMORPGs, a greater distinction may be made between a "newb" and a "noob." The common consensus is that a "newb" is someone who through their very nature of being a new player is inexperienced and naive to particular gaming mechanics or etiquette, whereas a "noob" usually refers to an experienced player who blatantly disregards rules and etiquette.
Newb = new player (we've all been there), noob = warrior who rolls need on a blue cloth BOP item with a mage(my alt) and priest in the group. I hate frickin' ninja's!
I remember this NOOB that got angry with me because I had asked on trade, if anyone could open a locked box for me. I had never done one before nor had anything enchanted before. So I ask him to help me walk thru it and he calls me a name and says to hurry up he doesn't have all nite.
So yeah, I'm a newb but the NOOBs like that out there don't really help.
Btw, he asked for a tip afterwards....I replied, "buy low, sell high"......NO, just kidding. I wanted to but I gave him a tip for opening the box.
Funny now, but it wasn't then. LOL
im one of the as shole <haha< kind of people. well, not toward other people anyway
F my life.
Have a nice day!

This post is faded because it has a negative score.
ok, so im 13 and i have had a few lvl 70's (mainly draenei and blood elf because of the easy lvling) but i tend to find, no offence to those who arn't, but the people who are 10-13 are normaly the ones who keep making multiple low lvls and trying to suck up to the high lvl, mature players. Most of my friends and 18+ (on wow) and mature, i just find they are more fun to play with, i think some new players who respect if your busy and know what to aks and do not go on and on are fine, but some un-mature players even higher lvled can be noobs.
Hologram-lvl 25 hunter, next campaign to 70 :)
i agree with the person above i to tend to hang with mature people being 12 mostly 30+ being people that my dad works with
also sometimes times i like bein a bit funny sometims and dance/strip on a mailbox 4 money (it works got paid 4g)

i think your mistaking noob for newb...
Noob is supposed to be an insult to somone
Newb is a newbie or somone new to the game and is just figuring it out.
We were all once new to the game and i don't like people who call newer players noobs because there a lower level...
I remember when i started my hunter a lvl 50 lock called me a noob and made fun of me.
Now i am a lvl 60 hunter with 7 epics and he is a lvl 57 lock with no epics. So i'm not the noob anymore, even though he did call me a noob i still didn't make fun of him now that im a higher lvl and can easily kill him because i think it's wrong for people to make fun of other people online. WoW is supposed to be a place where you can escape real life and have fun.
And i can relate to you being 12 and all...im only 13 and people treat me different i can't stand it... but if you respect people they will respect you i have friends on WoW that are 34 years old while i'm only 13. =P

in that case,
what the hell is
"nub"
it reminds me of food for some reason
Yeah noob is a derogatory phrase these days, to mean the likes of idiot or fool.
A newb is a genuinely new player to the game, but just cos they're running around the barrens with a lvl 15, doesnt mean they're a noob or a newb. Most if not all lvl 70's will have at least one alt.
Nub's like another word for noob, used by people who arent too fast on the keyboard and one less letter will take 3 secs less time.
Theres a time and a place for all words, just many, MANY players dont seem to get.
The last example i can think of using noob was against a lvl 36 hunter in my guild: "locks are easy to pwn, they have shit life", "dude, if you think 13K+ hp end game is 'shit life' then you really are a noob"
As for the blue/greens comment, just remind them that a hunter wearing blue and greens will still most likely be more efficient on the grind than most other classes wearing epics; 'tis the hunters strength.
I would like to know WHY THE HELL LOWBIE HUNTERS THINK THEY CAN DO MORE DPS WITH MELEE RATHER THAN SHOOTING
Because that's what Legolas did!
Other than that I have no idea. The class icon is a BOW, for pete's sake. WTF do you think you are going to be using?
I dont think that newcomers are noobs at all because they have never actually learned the stuff so they have the right to ask other people. I say people are noobs if they dont comply in a battleground plan and try to go and do their own thing and cause the rest of the people to lose. This is commonly done in Arathi Basin and it really pisses me off.
