Look out locks - yesterday completed Dreadsteed quest with a guild member and although he talked to spirit horse and quest was completed he didn't get the spell in his book. I whispered another lock for any helpful ideas and, he had had the same thing happen and was now lvl 70 with no dreadsteed despite completing the quests.
So I googled the problem and found it is a known bug at the moment - and seems it is connected with people having bought the riding skill to use pvp or normal epic mount before doing the lock quest. (I had no problem several months ago when I got mine but I hadn't bought the epic skill)
If it happens to you, open a ticket cos apparently they can sort it for you but it can take 5-7 days. Somewhat of an anticlimax after all the buildup :(
that's a shame, it's such a fun quest... and it was really hard when i did it at 60 (when that was cap)
I did the quest two weeks ago at lvl 61 with no problem. However, I did not buy the riding skill before I did the quest. So what you are saying may be true, it is linked to buying the riding skill before the quest.
Do the quest, kind of long, kind of expensive, but well worth it.

If this really isn't a bug and is declaration of what is "Class Correct". Bravo Blizzard. Go ahead, slam me, tell me I am off my rocker. I have posted about this subject often. WARLOCKS have class quests. ALL classes have quests. Our major quest and badge of honor is "OUR" Dreadsteed. If you want to get to Outlands so quick and skip your mount quest and buy a mount and riding skill, go ahead. But, the Dreadsteed should be disallowed to you. My quote on other posts stands......Ride any epic ground mount besides the Dreadsteed, you are a Shadowmage, NOT a Warlock.
lol, well not sure i agree with that post but i can see the sentiment.
personally i never use the dreadsteed if i'm pvping, if they think i'm a mage until i dismount then all the better.
also, after getting enough kurenei rep for the talbuk i'm gonna use it ^_^
I understand the use of other mounts on the battleground for "stealth" purposes, but, you did do the Dreadsteed quest. You chose to take the correct path as a Warlock. I have nothing against other Epic mounts, just prove your worth and get the Dreadsteed FIRST.

hmmm i did the quest at lv70 after buying epic mount training and i got mine just fine and the warlock quest aint cheap either :o did u get ur mount in the end ?
