FYI, I am a NElf Rogue (1581 health unbuffed)
ITEMS YOU CAN CARRY
- Before going into WSG, see if you can catch a high level priest and ask for a Stam buff. That is a +20 Stam which means 200 more health. Lasts for 30 mins or until you die. DO NOT go into Skirmish as it will remove the buff.
- Get as many of Rumsey Rum Black Label as you can. That's also a +15 Stam buff (150 health) which lasts for 15 mins.
An essential item for twinks, imo.
- Get a few Swiftness Potions. They should give you an edge if you run the flag.
But only use them in exceptional circumstances, as they're quite expensive.
- Also get some Mageweave Bandages.
Even though the skill to make them is beyond a level 19, you can still use them for 800 heal.
- If you have at least engineering 140, carry some Big Bronze Bombs
Very useful, especially against frost mages and hunters who can kite you forever otherwise.
Are there other items you carry to WSG that you think are useful ? I'd like to know them, please :-)
TACTICAL TIPS
- If you are in stealth and decide to attack a group of enemies coming down the field, always aim for the last in the group. Chances are the rest won't be looking back.
- Learn to run away from a battle
Sure, your DPS is awesome. You're really a strong twink. But if you're fighting 5 enemies, there's no way you're going to win. Unless your purpose is to distract them from the flag carrier, learn to run away. Sprint if necessary. Do not fight to the death out of pride. As soon you're out of fight go to stealth and recover health in a quiet place.
- Learn all the hiding places for the flag.
The roof is the obvious choice, but there are a couple of surprising places which should delay your opponents in their search for the flag.
For example, for the Horde: there is space between two roofs right above the entrance to the tunnel. You have to be in the right place to be able to shoot (Line of Sight) the fc. And learning to get there for melee is complicated.
- You may have noticed that the flag leaves a shining trail behind. To remove it, shake yourself left and right several times in quick succession, that should remove the trail.
- Sap is a powerful tool. Use it. I know that Ambush is a big temptation, but sometimes all you want to do is put that strong twink out of the immediate action. Remember: Sap, then move immediately away from the victim, to avoid being targeted. Move in the direction you expect s/he will move, and then try to sap again. I have managed to neutralise a twink 4 times. Enough for the flag to get clear away from danger. To me Sap should come with an "Evil Laugh" voice emote :-)
