This will probaly sound kinda stupid, but is hogger rly a hard hitter? on the page for him people send they couldn't solo him at lvl 70 but he is onlya lvl 11 elite.  Im pretty sure its a joke but im not positive

All those 'Hogger owned my lvl 70' things are jokes, Hogger has quite the reputation :p

He hits so hard that after a duel, he 1-shot my 70...

Funny story...over the weekend, I just happened to be running through that area on my 70 Mage, and because I was doing not much else I decided to see how long it would take me to beat him to death with my staff...so I find him, run up to him, jump off my mount, and all of a sudden he dies...thinking "Wow! The force of jumping off my mount killed him"...LOL...then about 5 seconds later I could see speech bubbles of people congratulating themselves for bringing down Hogger, yet i could see no people...thinking that I had gone mad I ALT+Tabbed, and then went back in, and it was then that I could see about 8 level 5-10's running around and dancing and carrying on like they had just downed Gruul...LMAO!!!

Me being me, I cheered for them, congratulated them, bowed before their greatness, gave them all a AI buff, even the warrior and rogue, who seemed grateful...LOL...and then decided to get to a town and log out before any other random wierdness started happening...LOL

I decided to go and see if Hogger wanted to pick on someone his own size. He did, so I got naked (well at least to my granny panties, disarmed,  and punched him til he cried for his momma!

I bet he NEVER picks on Lil Timmy anymore.    LOL

When i was a lowbie, i had alot of trouble with hogger, just as most folks do. So when i lvl'd to 36ish or so, i thought, 'Hey, i'm stronger now, maybe i can take him by myself.' So i ran to his little hideout, determined to bring him down one way or another. Killed him with one shadowbolt, and felt pretty foolish. As a lowbie, i guess you just dont realize all those small gains you make as you lvl makes a huge difference.

Well, I took a completely different approach to defeating Hogger when I was a level 10 Paladin.

It just so happens that I am a Master Debater.

So when I spotted Hogger I clicked on him and opened up a whisper dialogue.  He was responsive at first.

I explained to him how his anger is due to the current economic situation of his gnoll clan and is not directly caused by the people of Elwynn Forest.  You see gnolls are hunters and he is living in a peaceful farming community that is not conducive to their usual lifestyle.

I said that if he adapts just a little and helps the surrounding area, instead of placing blame and using self pity, he could build a respected gnoll community and even open trade with the citizen's of Stormwind.  This would allow him to establish respect, a sustainable economy, and to flurish in Elwynn.  After all, he has hundreds of gnolls that do his bidding, if they worked together to better their situation instead of crying about their current strife and doing nothing, they could be a legitimate foothold in SW Elwynn.

Well, old Hogger brought up some good points also.  He asked why he should conform to a society that frequently sends in assassin's to eliminate him.  And why he should conform when it is his village that is under pressure.

I simply explained to him that the assassin's are sent as a means to an end.  His gnoll's pose a threat to the well establish area and if his group was eliminated, Elwynn would be quite peaceful.  I said, you see Hogger, you moved into Elwynn after it had already been settled and Stormwind had been built.  Then you entered and caused a wave in the peaceful pond that is Elwynn.  It may have been unintentional, but you are like the toad that is introduced into a foreign farming community and then proceeds to eat all of the bees and worms that are needed to keep the farming healthy.

I further explained that Elwynn can support Hogger and his gnolls, but they must learn to only take what is needed to survive, and to stop attacking and raiding local communities like Goldshire and Westfall.  It will take time, change, patience, and communication, but in time, gnolls can be viewed as part of the backbone of Elwynn instead of as the ugly wart.

Well after what seemed like hours of debate the sun began to set and our talks had come to a close.  So finally I asked Hogger point blank: "What is your decision?  Will you work with me to help the gnolls and people of Elwynn live together peacefully?  Or will you continue to struggle to carve your own stronghold in Elwynn and persue your own selfish ways?"

His answer was sadly disappointing.  He growled loudly, grabbed his weapon and ran towards me.  I did not counter right away.  I cast a protective bubble over myself and said: "You make me sad, I see now that some animals can not be tamed"

Then my bubble wore off and I cut him into so many pieces that he will need a jigsaw expert to put him back together again.

Morale of the story:

It took me 5 damn hours to defeat Hogger because I tried to be reasonable.  It will not happen again.  VanCleef will not be given the same option.

But madrushian you forgot that human is hopelessly selfish and racist by nature even amongst themselves just because of different skin colors, not species. You can't possibly expect them to share that piece of land just because gnolls suddenly decide to compromise and learn to live with humans. Even though human may appear to be okay at first there will always be some uneducated rednecks who would stir things up and cause conflicts between human and gnoll. One group of people who would shake hands with you for a pic on paper and stab you in the back the next day is humans. Hogger isn't paranoid for no reason. But he's dumb enough to have a settlement so damn near the one major human city of Azeroth. Of course Stormwind citizens would constantly wanna exterminate them. There are children wandering around Elwynn Forest too. Like you and me, if we see a bunch of stray dogs wandering around our neighborhood we would figure out a way to get rid of them too.

Here's my suggestion, it will never be a safe place for Hogger and the gnolls to stay at Elwynn Forest, they need to move. And where to? I'd say The Barrens is probably the perfect place. The land is pretty plain and huge I'm sure the gnolls can find a dry place to call their home. And I don't think the orcs, trolls and taurens would mess with them for no reason unless there's a threat. Thrall would understand Hogger's situation as he is familiar with the feeling of being unwelcome anywhere. Vol'jin would just agree with Thrall. And tauren is a peaceful harmonic race by nature. Cairne Bloodhoof would not have a problem with it unless the gnolls litter around or pollute the river, taurens are pretty serious about environmental protection. But of course Hogger needs to put away his arrogance and be rational and ask for Thrall's blessings before moving to The Barrens. That would be hard judged by the way he charged at you even though you tried to be reasonable with him. Perhaps madrushian I could go persuade him with you. But since now he's in a few pieces... it'd be a little too late huh.

Guys, did you know that underneath the gnoll camps there is a secret underground facility?

Hogger was put there to kill everybody that goes near.

But who can command him, nobody knows. It has been rumored that only the combined forces of Sargeras, Arthas, and the old gods could keep him in check - for a few seconds.

What's in the facility? We here at XYZ news suspect that it may be a [censored] with [censored], with fifteen [censored] guarding the [censored].

We probably should not go at the same time though.
He may feel threatened if 2 of us are there.
Maybe we can rig a microphone like in the movies, and you can help by listening and providing support that way.

Anyone ever try to see how many level 1's it would take to bring down Hogger?  I've always wanted to get a bunch of guildies to all create new alts at the same time, and go face him to see if we could do it and how many it would take.

I went to find Hogger on my own just now, in hope that I could talk some sense into him and let him know my proposal to move to The Barrens, and end this issue once and for all for the sake of them and Stormwind citizens.

When he saw me he was very weary. Before I could say a word he charged at me like a nutcase. So I thought may be he thought I was you. I'd be pissed too if I saw the guy who chopped me into pieces.

Gave me a big shock but I was calm enough to dodge all his strikes. Then he got so frustrated he went down and bit me in my leg. I was like "WTF!!?!?!?!" Wouldn't have ever expected Hogger to pull such a move so he got me. Gave me a nice hard bite. It hurt like mxtherfxcker so out of instinct I kicked him in his balls with all my strength. I kicked pretty damn hard. Needless to say he started to flee holding his balls with his tail between his legs squealing like the girl crying about her doll in Stormwind. But I was so fxcking pissed I couldn't just let him go. So I grabbed one of the little gnolls nearest to me and threw at Hogger. Hit him and they both fell into the river. Well gnolls can't swim so he drowned.

Good riddance I say. These bastards can't be civilized. Wouldn't give a damn about their survival now. Heck if I got them to The Barrens my rep with Orgrimmar, Thunder Bluff and Darkspear Trolls would have dropped down to unfriendly immediately just because I introduced them these retarded creatures. To hell with Hogger and his stupid gnolls.

Actually you'd only need like 10 level 1s to kill Hogger (providing he doesn't 1-shot the tank). 1 Warrior and 9 healers taking it in turns to heal, because everybody knows how fast lv 1s regenerate.

I kited hogger to all the way to duskwood, then I introduced him to stitches.  They got along quite well, actually.  They're having a tea party right now, playing with dolls while sewing...  wait...
