Most of the comments I read on here are for level 70's or those almost to 70.

I am looking for some markers to judge my progress as I level.  I have a level 28 prot warrior (and before people starting telling me not to lvl with prot spec I have read both sides of that debate..I am not taking sides on it, except to say I am choosing to go prot for now.  I really don't want to rehash that agrument here. thank you) 

Right now I have about 198 in defense rating.  I am just looking to see how that compares with others my level...

you need 490defence bosses
bosmob=lv73.

490/73=Y
Yx(moblevel)=z(=amount of defence needed).

Thank you for your answer but I am looking for information more level appropriate.  It seems like all anyone cares about are level 70's.  I can find lots of information for what a level 70 needs. 

I actually happen to enjoy leveling and would like to find some markers for different levels.  Say if you are level 20 warrior you should have close to this much strength, defense, armor, etc to be on par for most other warriors close to that level. 

A lot of the books and most of the on-line information I read has things like if you are lvl 70, X-Amount of defense rating translates into this much defense. 

If anyone has anything to share on this, I would love to hear it.

It really does not matter. You are level 28 just keep leveling. Defense rating does not matter at this point. If you are not dying all the time, then you are doing something right. :D

GL leveling as prot though! It's going to be pretty rough.
