Divine Protection/Divine Shield: Un-Purgable.
Blessing of Protection: Purgable and doesn't prevent magical damage, either.
One of my favorite PvP moments was when some human pally BoPed himself at critical health, /loled at me, and then proceeded to heal himself. I /loled at his corpse.
I can't speak much to elemental vs. paladin, but for enhancement your best bet is to either waste the pally in the first few seconds, or drag the fight out for a while and let your opponent run out of mana, since you'll probably be much more mana efficient if you're 62+, especially if they're bruning up their mana re-Blessing and re-Sealing themselves everytime you Purge them.
And if you happen to be dueling one too stupid to kill your totems, well, you're set. A lot of people don't seem to realize that AoE doesn't affect them.
