I think a compromise is needed.  BS should be able to repair their stuff at vendors etc. for HALF the cost of non-BS's.  That way the BS is not over-powered, yet there is still another reason why we should all grind through the levels.

Or even at 100-200 1/3 off; 200-300 1/2 off; 300+ 2/3 off vendor repairs.  This way you would still have a reason to take the trouble to level up BS.

Either that or armoursmiths can repair armour, weaponsmiths can repair weapons.  That way you still need to pay the vendors, but you still benefit if you have high enough BS skill.

We armoursmiths definitely need some loving from Blizz.

Repair costs are one way that Blizz combats inflation.  They need a way to get money back off us.  If BS's repaired all their own gear then inflation could spiral (even more) out of control.

This is flat out the worse suggestion in this topic.

Why not just make repair kits with two restrictions: A reverse level cap and item type. Blizzard could make it so that you can't use low-level repair kits to fix high level items and you can't use repair kits for a different kind of items than what the kit was made for.

The reverse level cap is, IMHO, the most important restriction on the items -- if you don't have it, it would simply not make sense to make anything but the lowest kinds of repair kits.

If the reverse level cap is used, it could make it possible to make repair kits something you can make from skill level 1.
