You don't have to be in PVP to use it.  It's just considered good for PVP because it has resiliance and a lot of stamina.  A hunter in PVP is gonna be getting hit, while in PvE (hopefully) his pet or his tank is the one getting hit.

Doesnt a % of the resilience transfer to your pet?
All other stats do. Maybe resilience aswell.

I have all the set but didnt know it was for PvP only. I have Rift Stalker bracers but Boots do not come in Rift Stalker. Im wanting some of a set(wrist, belt, feet) besides PvP/Arena Vendor gear.
Anyone know the name of a set that can fill the holes?

no.  hunter pets have no resilience and relatively low HP.  hence even an uber-geared hunter's pet is extremely easy to kill in pvp.  the only reason most hunter pets stay alive as long as they do in pvp is because players rarely bother to attack pets.

it is your choice, what you wish to do with the gear.  however these blue rep-vendor sets (featuring a little resilience & relatively high stam) are in fact old pvp rewards that have been re-skinned, and they are optimized for pvp rather than for killing dungeon bosses.  could you wear them into karazhan?  well, maybe, if you're in a guild that allows you to.  is it the best gear to begin karazhan with?  certainly not.  kara starter gear should still consist of loot from high level 5-player dungeons and crafted blues/purples, at the least.

for people who are curious, stalker's chain battlegear used to be known as
        horde: high warlord's pursuit http://thottbot.com/?set=596
        alliance: grand marshal's pursuit http://thottbot.com/?set=595

where did this set's current skin come from?  it was recycled from
        beast lord armor http://thottbot.com/?set=650
the armor set that was originally intended for hunters just beginning karazhan.

I disagree.  This is fine for starting Kara. Do the math -- for DPS, it's almost identical to Beast Lord set, with less INT/MP5, but a lot more STA.  The best hunter shot rotation uses very little mana (auto/steady).  Take the STA.  BL set has the edge for traps, but again, that's not important for Kara.

Can you get better blues from instances pre-kara?  Yes, slightly.  Is it worth doing?  Nope (except for the epic chest from MgT).  In the time it takes to collect those instance blues, you could get at least 3 pieces of S2 gear, which would put you WAY ahead of someone going the instance route.  This set is so easy to get that the upgrades from other instance blues just aren't worth it anymore.  If you can't go right into Kara with this set, get a bit of S2 and you're still much stronger than a hunter with the best possible BC blues from instances, for much less effort.
