Well, while you raid I'm sure you will be stopping near Darnassus or Stormwind (or even Ferelas) so it wouldn't be very difficult to stock up on a stack of 10 or even 20 if you really wanna save a couple gold, either hang onto it or store it in the bank (again, Darnassus or Stormwind area), and stop by a local moonwell once every four days, or maybe even more.

What you're saying doesn't make much sense. Just because you are making mooncloth doesn't mean that during the cooldown you cannot raid. I've been making mooncloth for about 8 levels now and I have six pieces since I started it up. I simply do it in my spare time.

Tailoring, even pre-expansion, isn't a dead-end job. Mooncloth can be used to make bags, including the Mooncloth Bag (which, despite its drastic decrease in value, can still be slightly profitable) or the more profitable Bottomless Bag. It's not too hard to keep up with, and it pays off well.
