How do I get shell shield??? My turtle doesnt have it and its lvl 30...ive had this turtle before the patch btw.

i think u can get it on the turtle named Kress in the instance Wailling Caverns (WC) in the barrens.... im not sure it is this shield... but it has a shield when it is tammed...
I tamed Ghamoo-ra and he comes with this. If you have it set to auto, he will use it at 50% health. It reduces all damage he *takes* by 50% It does not change armor rating, there is no calculation dmg-ar=dmg taken, its simple half, no matter what. The turtle becomes a tank, without a turret.
Using him, at level 34 (turtle same level) and out of date equip, I was able to defeat a 40 clacker that I stumbled on. His shield saved us both!
if u want to get the ability around mid 20s go to BlackFathomDepths (i hope i spelled it correct) and tame the elite turtle there, btw place a freezing trap so u wont take ne dmg at all because the turtle wil be frozen for 10sec and thats how long it takes to tame him i hope this helps

this ability is so imba, if you though that your turtle could tank before, then try this.
there is no doubt, turtles are the best tanking pet you can get. btw it can take some time before you will learn this ability, I tamed a snapjaw from hillsbrad, and I used shield shell like 10 times before I learn it, and with 3 min CD, yeah... but it is worth it.
translation: elites no longer have this ability, and the ones tamed before the last patch got it removed.

I tamed Kresh inside wailing cavern at lvl 23; she has Shell Shield once u tame her
i had some help by a lvl 65 warlock mate, but to tame her my mate had to lose pet aggro :\ u need to be alone to tame a pet :( (ie: she need to have aggro on you) frozen trap worked fine; place the trap, start taming, taming complete. Yeh u may end up with little health/no mana but, this is fine :) my turtle tank a lot, and she's cool :) My only concern is "how to use Shell Shield". I need to put them on "auto use"? or use'em manually whenever i face multiple adversaries?
to all hunters, there is a website that is very useful, if you want to check it out it has lists of all teh pets avaible(including BC pets) and lists the beasts than have all the moves and what lvls have diffrent moves and so on its a great site heres the link

To teach your current pet how to do a skill it doesn't know...
1st: catch a pet that knows the skill of the appropriate rank that u r looking 4(with your main pet stabled, of course) 2nd: battle with this new captured pet with that new talent active until it says on your message log that you have learned <skill> 3rd: release that pet when u get to town: he's useless to you now 4th: go get your old pet out of the stable and go to your pet training book (in the general tab in your spell book) select the skill (that is, if he can learn it) and teach it to him. 5th: have fun with your new skilled up pet (and look up the next rank of that skill while you're at it. figure out what lvl u can learn it and which mob knows it at the lowest lvl. repeat steps 1-4 on that mob) Add Comment
