In the hopes that people will stop asking if I use a little bold text, spirit beasts are not yet available. They will be released with the Wrath of the Lich King expansion and can be presumably only found in Northrend. Currently, however, the only known spirit beast is Loque’nahak, a level 76 rare elite who can be found in the Sholazar Basin. Also, spirit beasts are exotic pets, meaning you must have the 51-point talent Beast Mastery.
3 days I been searching for this thing.. so far only one I seen was owned by a NE hunter ::cry:: go figure =\ However did see the rare spawn devilsaur in the general location i have been looking for the spirit beast...
Anyone have any coords on spawn points or coords were he has be spotted, I have been patrolling the southwest part of the zone no luck yet but seems to be the most common place i have read to look, nothing exact on coords though sadly.
I accidentaly ran into him in Sholazar Basin. Abandoned my bear on the spot and trained him, almost killed me the first time, he leaps at you so no slowing him down. I'm not 100% sure about the location, I was attacked right after I trained him so had to run. But I know it was east of the NE Pilar.

I tamed this beauty early yesterday morning, after a week of camping in the basin. He appeared approx. 7.5 hours after "King Krush" was killed. Spawn point was just across the river from the dreadsaber "Shango". From what I saw the rare devilsaur spawns at about a 3:1 ratio to Loque'nahak, but that may have been a peculiarity of my server. I met and killed "Aotona" during this time, he spawned about 20 minutes after another hunter tamed the spirit beast my first day in the basin.
The tame was a bit bugged for me, but I actually found him on my druid and had my hunter Bf tag and trap him while I logged over, so that probably caused the issue. I had to restart the tame 2x, after grouping with my Bf. The third time it went thru no problem. I have noticed his spirit strike ability firing on targets that are attacking me...even when he is on passive and engaged with another mob. Its a bit disconcerting to have a mob next to me (and nowhere near my pet) be hit by spirit strike when he is actively engaged in melee with another target...and several yards away....and on passive... That does effectively pull aggro to him tho...so take it with a grain of salt. (Spirit Bodyguard?) My best advice is to use the spawn point maps as your guide for camping/patrolling create and spam a macros, you will pick up your target from quite a distance. For the tame itself, be sure to set up your freezing trap and stand on top of it before you start the tame. Its also a very good idea to tag Loque pre-tame so nobody can steal him...because sadly people are that rude. Good luck to my fellow BM's in getting him! Re: Spirit Beast by donkey72287, Score 0.00
After running into this beast by accident while farming for saronite, I immediately stabled my old pet and ran back to get him. Just as I was about to tame, some horde came over and killed it.
After that encounter, I was really excited to learn about what Loque'nahak was. After doing a fair bit of searching-I stumbled upon this map: http://img370.imageshack.us/img370/7995/loquelz9.jpg It gives you all the spawn points of the 3 different rarespawns in Sholazar. Just make the macro: /tar loqu /tar king /tar aot Spawn it continously throughout the basin. The way it works (or so I've read) is that only one of these three rarespawns are active at one time. Once one is killed, 1 of the 3 will spawn a certain number of hours later. So finding Loque is extremely painful, but very rewarding. I tamed him at the spawn point northeast of The Glimmering Pillar. Hope this helped!

got my spirit beast today! thank you for all the posts, i was reading deap into the posts and then i alt+tabed backed into wow to check his spawn loc real quick and there he was! found him in the north location at 1:25 realm time. im pretty shure he's been sittin there for a while. while i was tabed away reading these posts, i got lucky and checked again.
i would like to add, unless your going to camp a location then your probably going to need a swift flying mount(since there were tons of lvl 80 ally hunters looking for him....im horde by the way), use the macros as stated above and just keep hitting that macro button. i had seen him two days before but didnt get there in time and the time to tame. was 4 am REAL time (realm time not sure). im pretty sure he didnt spawn in the time between the two sightings wich means blizz probably put a randomizer that can skip a day by not spawning, but then hes sure to respawn after that, soo keep looking! also i never saw king krush or the bird, out of the week i spent looking for him, so imo the spirit beast spawns more frequent. and lastly use everything you've got, i used /who to see who my competition was you can pretty much bet half or more of the guys in the zone are looking for the same thing. ****ALSO later on i will tell you(after im accomplished in more) some special tricks i used to find him, im almost positive i was the only one in the zone using this method wich gave me the advantage. the only hint i will give u now is....youre a hunter! be creative with your ABILITIES! here's some proof! I tamed one about a week and a half ago. It was a lucky day. Should have played the lottery. I was going after a Titanium node and noticed a white cat. I moused over it and saw the silver dragon "Oh boy a rare", then the name Spirit Beast in a yellow border? (non-aggressive). Hy heart skipped a beat. I raced to Nessingwary's camp Hoping to find a stablemaster. In luck, I stabled my cat and raced back. Nobody else had discovered it. I tamed it and started right away to level it. I named mine Boomcat for it's, Moonfire like, ranged, Spirit Strike attack. This is an awesome pet that really dishes out the damage. the downside is that it also pulls a lot of aggro and can die a lot if you don't pay attention to it's health.
P.S. I did get the Titanium node first. P.P.S. Found it again today. killed it and it dropped a really nice level 74 neck with agility, stamina, and hit. I got him tonight :) WOOHOO!!! It was about 7pm I guess - maybe a little earlier. I've been looking for him for a few days in between doing the quests in Sholazar to break the monotony of the search and grouping for heroics here and there via the /lfg option... So tonight - not really in the mood for a prolonged search (and usually there is always so many hunters cruising around the outer edges of the zone looking for that yellow dot to appear) - I decided to cruise around the zone while waiting for a summons from a group I just joined for HoS (regular) and just as I was giving up and about to go afk while I waited for the summons.............. WHAM!!!! A yellow dot slams my mini map and I'm thinking they are just some more gorillas since I'm right over them in the trees - but I figured I would go ahead and press my macro one last time (targeting all 3 named spawns) and there he was - Loque'Nahak... "OMG!!!!" screams through my head and sends vicious viubrations all through my body as I desperately try to gain control of my hands... So I dive bombed straight down - eating leaves, breaking branches, bugs going up my nose and in my mouth - not caring what was in my path or in my way - (thinking the whole time at any second another hunter or worse - some horde hunter was gonna land right there at the same time and tap him) - and finally, reaching the ground I bailed my Griffon... Unfortunately I had my main kitty as a pet because I just ran Heroic Nexus and didn't switch back to my temp yet (i didn't actually think I would find the spirit beast anyway so I just didn't worry about it - but regardless - that decision to abandon it took about .00005 seconds and a quick abandon pet and I started the tame... SLAP!!! wtf?? A gorilla smacked the back of my head as I was taming and start clawing and smackin' me around at the same time the spirit kitty was clawing the sh*t outta me... Health lowering like a sack of bricks - tame almost done - racing racing racing each other!!! Sooooo close - omg I was gonna die and someone else was going to catch Loque'Nahak on tracking and swoop in for the prize!!! ...and then it happened - the spirit beast name turns blue - it turns and makes a mad rush - barreling into the gorilla - tearing it to pieces and yeah!!! YEAH BABY YEAH!!!!! I got him with like 10% health left... Interestingly enough - no one else came by or even tried to intervene... Did no one else have the spirit beast on track or what? I can't be certain... But out of respect for everyone in the zone - I did a shout out to let everyone know exactly when I tamed him so they could start their timers and their schedules... WOOHOO!!!!!!! Silvansaria - 80 Hunter Templars of the Grail Nordrassil Don't give up guys - be vigilant in your search!!! ...and it WILL happen when you least expect it!!! The rumors of the new Sprit Beast are true, I ran into one while farming fur in Zul Drak. I have Loque' but i have to admit that the new one rocks, I think Loque' will be getting a long deserved vacation now. I can't seem to figure out how to add a screen shot to my post, but he is the best looking pet yet IMO.

And people wonder how hunters as a group got a bad reputation.......
I ran into loque yesterday. It just walks back and forth. takes like 5steps one way then 5 steps the other way so it doesn't wonder far at all.
Location: when looking at the map. I found it to the left of skyreach pillar and i was standing right next to skyreach pillar. There is a big blue crystal there sticking out of the ground. It kept walking up to the crystal back and forth. So theres one definate and exact location for you. I stumbled opon it while mining on my druid. so i immediately hoped on my hunter on another account and tamed it. Extremely hard to find. I've never seen anyone on my server with it so i may be the only one. Plenty of the new Gondria spirits beasts though. which look really cool if you want one of those in zul'drak. And Loque only has a chance on spawning every 10hrs and walks around for an hour then disapears. Excellent dps pet. Moonfire type ability definately puts loque above other dps pets and omg is it loud lol. Good luck. Its a must have for hunters~ Jubilee, of Hakkar (pvp)
would you believe it! I logged on today on Shattered Halls and a fellow guildy calls on vent that Logue just spawned in. On my way there he says another hunter just arrived and killed it. AN ALLIANCE 51 PT BM HUNTER NO LESS!!!! I pst and asked why even flew there and followed him around asking why. Never got an answer
So my quest continues
I found Gondria just by a stroke of luck. I was finishing up the exploration achievement in Zul'Drak. There she was among bears and leopards. I immediately let go of my elite Dino (going back for another) and attempted to tame. Well, not only was I attacked by a leopard but also a bear. Thank G*D for freeze trap and scare beast or I would have never had her. I was down to no color on my xp meter. My eyes were shooting back from the tame meter to the xp. Phew... She is now mine.

LvL 80 I've heard, and looks like a wolf, but still knows prowl ability like the other Spirit Beasts, he pats around Storm Peaks. my GM was farming and right when logged in he immediately messaged me and told me to get there ASAP. flew from dalaran and then flew to him from the flight path. i saw another hunter running toward him.i abandoned my corehound and started taming him as my GM was healing me (yup no time for freeze trap). and all i see was an "OH POOP" yelled in the basin lol
I tamed the Spirit beast Loque'nahak <Mate of Har'koa> on Aegwynn server at 9:30 Pm at cords 66.6 78.8 on July 29 th. just put down a freezing trap then hit the button to tame it. it charged at me then was frozen. was very easy to tame just took me a month to get lucky enough to find the cat. I feel its very odd the cat does not have a bite attack. but then again blizzard does some odd stuff when it comes to animals.

Name is Skoll and is a lvl 80. Since its another spirit beast, must have 51 talents into BM. I tamed him today at 2:28 server time. Coords were 46.65 in Storm Peaks on edge overlooking Brunnhildar Village. I must say he is fascinating. He has electricity that flows throughout his body and you can hear it. He also has the spirit strike that the cats have as well as prowl. He is one of the coolest looking pets. I got lucky as there was an alli hunter camping same spot. I went afk, came back and hit macro and there Skoll was, alli hunter was gone, i tagged and tamed, screenshot below. Good luck to any hunter out there looking for this beast. I got Skoll yesterday on Thunderlord (11am exactly) on the Snowdrift Plains, just North of the Temple of Storms. Very pleased with his graphics. I have been getting lots of questions about him. If you take a look at my screenshot in the pics section you can see the awesome lightning that flows around him.
I am in no way complaining about Skoll...but i think he should have a beefed up wolf howl instead of prowl...i mean it would only make sense...i still think i prefer Gondria however but if i see Skoll before Gon i will settle for him....same for Loque...

Finally got him after 2 months of searching off and on. I had given up looking for him tonight and decided to continue a quest chain for the Oracles in S-Basin. I was on the quest where you have to kill the Frenzyheart scavangers and stuff. Well I was having trouble finding them and I had just dismounted from my Cobalt Netherdrake to suck up some cloud gas when... there he was. Just prowling around not 20 feet away from where I was standing. I did a double take and was like... "IS THAT WHAT I THINK IT IS?!!! NO WAY!!! OH MY GOSH!!!!" So with my heart pounding and my fingers shaking I abandon my wasp pet without a moments hesitation, walked towards him, and hit the tame button. I didn't even think or bother to lay down a frozen trap, out of fear of wasting precious seconds which another Horde hunter or worse... any Alliance hunters (whom patrol the S-Basin skys like a swarm of locusts) could use to swoop in and tag-steal the prize first. Well lucky for me nobody else saw him and the tame was a successful one, and I even avoided being killed by the beast before the tame was complete. I am now one of the few proud owners of this highly sought after rare pet. If you are on the Hydraxis server, I caught him 11:13pm 8/15/09 just southeast of Camp N in S-Basin. If you read this in the next day or so... Good luck my fellow hunters!!!! But it's like they say... you will get him probably when you are not looking for him, cause I did. :) Peace out!!! I got Loque about a month ago, thought i would post about it. I got Loque in 3 hours. All i did was look around in the basin, once an hour for 20 mins.

Last night I also went looking for Loque, and found him reasonably fast at 36,30 but already dead. Someone must hate me :(
Usually respawns are faster when they get skinned, and I could and did skin him and got Loque'Nahak's Pelt which will look great on one of my alts :D Today I installed an add-on(npcfinder)which alerts you when a rare pops up and camped near the gorillas at 69,75 and watched some TV but never got the alarm.I read on forums that he usually pops up at xxh10m so I went farming for leather from the gorillas and planned to do the spawn point tour every hour +10 minutes. And I was very lucky, I got the alarm at my first tour and exactly there where I found his body yesterday.And no others in the vicinity to interrupt the tame. Abandoned my temp pet, put up the frost trap,stepped on it and started the tame.It was like taking candy from a baby. I'm so glad that I could tame him the day after I decided to get him :D I named him "Geest" (dutch for spirit) Realm: Ghostlands.eu Race: orc Name: Feeks Good luck to all other hunters ;)
Last night i was farming "mining" am a paladin. then WOPS i jumped into this amazing pet!! shit.. none of my hunter friends was online!!!? wut.. should i kill him for the blue drops?? Mmm..
I know hunters are looking their asses to find this thing.. i wrote in general chat.. "any hunters here?" .. Nope!!! So when i do all this .. a hunter horde comes :) hehe.. guess he had an adrenalin kick!!!! will that palla kill me??.. but hey .. am a grown up :) i just sat on my mount and watched the guy tame him.. guess that dude love me now :) btw ... location was .. the sky reach pillar.. where the monkey hang out... btw.. i have started to lvl up a hunter now.. JUST TO GET THIS FUCKING AMAZING PET :)
Well im not sure if you all want to here this but i have all 3 spirit beasts on balnazzar...found loque by accident didnt even know what he was really..way back in january..then started looking into them more...found gondria and tamed him awhile ago..also i have killed gondria twice..i just found skoll 2 days ago..saw the coordinates here..went there didnt see him logged out for the night and logged in at 5 am pacific time..ran there and there he was! Now i think i should buy a lottery ticket! lol
I just Tamed this beast the other day at the spawn point furthest west. I started my usual fly by routine and it was the last stop on my search, and BAM there he was!!! i got so excited i nearly killed myself from fall damage, lol. i quickly set my frost trap and went to tame him but i got so excited i set my trap to far away and had to get in front of my trap to begin the tame. I went for it anyways and watched as my health bar and tame bar raced each other to the end. The tame bar won but it was a close call. I know i could have gotten aggro and then just stepped back and let the cat hit the freeze trap, but my head was all over the place.found him at 4:15 am server time. Anyways, he is an awesome pet. I named mine Loquènahak, notice instead of ( e' ) its ( è )it was the closest i could get since you cant use npc names. It may be cruel but i have a new hobby of going to Sholazar Basin and casting eyes of the beast to tease horde ( alliance btw ) i have even seen a few horde hunters quickly abandon their pets only to realize that he is already taken, lol i know im evil. to all my fellow BM hunters,...good luck in taming this beautiful pet! New Spirit Beast coming in patch 3.3.
His name is Arcturius and he is a lvl 74 rare spawn in Grizzly Hills. I'm a bit disapppointed tbh but also relieved. Disappointed because, honestly, I think he looks crap and was hoping for something better but relieved because at least I don't have to spend ages looking for a new pet. Like I always say, GL to those who will be pursuing him unless of course you're one of them no-lifers who will only tame him because you crave attention in Dalaran.
After months of looking on all places for this beast, I got it.
Hunters believe it, it is there. Just keep looking in all these places others have marked on the map. I have stable on hand, so I did not have to go back to stables in city. I just put the pet I had in my stable. Then I layed down my Ice Trap, and I had it tamed. The long hunt was over! Mine is a lvl75 Spirit Beast. The power this beast has is powerful. I am sure it will only get stonger as it lvls to 80. Just keep looking, you too will find it. Oh, one last note to all of you looking for it. The mark on your map is yellow, not red for elite spirit beast. (My user name here is different from in game name. As we can no longer give out info not sure if I say my toons name!?
