In SMV there are mobs that are unhittable until you destroy the totems surrounding them. So long as you clear the surrounding area of mobs you can just keep attacking them and go afk while your skill goes up.
Careful though, since the mobs surrounding them do respawn.
Protip: Obtain torch of retribution (look it up, you get it in Burning Steppes. Equip it and go AFK fighting a level 5 mob :)All mobs are immune to this staff, and yet hitting them with it equipped gives skill levels. Doing this without sploiz is simply TERRIBLE!

I've been sitting on 399 for 3 days now, cant get another point. I've been doing 2hrs of boxing a day in that time and I cant get the last point. WTF is wrong with you Blizz? Gimme my last point
It took over 50 to get that last point. I was starting to think there was a glitch as well. It was easy for me just let the pet keep agro and just keep going at it
Skilled up from 360-399 in 10, 15mins. Also stuck at 399, been fighting lvl 80 elites, both armed with fistweapons, and unarmed, bare knuckles! Guessing I need to encounter a higher lvl mob...
For the unarmed skill, I was at 10/400. Hit up them Primordial Drake Eggs in The Savage Thicket - Scholozar Bazin. Did the same with the other skills too.
You can no longer Lv off the people with barriors in SMV. That was fixed. They are immune to any attack thus will not give a lv
Azaloth in Ruins of Karabor. There's one Warlock further away towards Azaloth's tail. Take him out and scoot your way up under Azaloth's poop zone. When the Warlock respawns, he won't aggro (I was lvl 77). Punch away! (loose your armor first).
Killed around 50 mobs to get the last skill point!
Cost me 5g repairs, but i got the achievement!
Keep on trying guyz! XD
Use the Grove Walkers right under Dalaran. They heal themselves and don't do any damage.
Figured while farming wool for my lowbie I'd run stocks :( took me 8 full run throughs for the last point. Although I now have enough wool to stock three lowbies through FA and tailoring.
Probably the best area at 80 is fighting the first boss of shadow labs. He's in ghost form so he doesn't attack, and since you are 80 none of the monsters will attack you.
Another great mob to increase weapon skills against is Charlga Razorflank in Razorfen Kraul. She has 6900 HP and heals herself constantly.
Btw, getting that last point took me at least 500 hits.
I went from levells 203-399 fighting three Scorched Guardians in Bad Lands. Fairly easy they couldnt hurt me i could barely hurt them, lol.
I think you need 399-400 to drop on a 80 mob, Ive seen a few people do this on viloet hold heroic, just before you start when then escaping mobs are fighting the guards, basically the mobs wint hit you.
i have been hitting azaloth for about 30 mins now on unarmed still nothing at 399 but i got my 2 handed mace up to 400 on this guy so it has to work i guess i will just have to keep hitting him and hopefully i get this soon
Scarlet Chaplains in SM absorb the damage and don't do any damage to me as a lvl 80 lock. just got from 140-340 in like 2 mins just goin back and forth.
you can't skillup on Azaloth anymore. It's been nerfed in 3.08
Nobody has commented on this particular quest so I thought I would share it. In Zul'Drak there is a quest from Har'koa in Zim'torga called "Tails Up".
Basically, you go to the east of the Altar of Har'koa and there are panthers and bears that you tranquilise then you have to "lift up their tails" to see whether they are male or female! lol
If they are female they are tamed and follow you, but.... if they are male, they get angry and become attackable... but... they dont wake up... so punch away my friends!!
I would recommend NOT completing this quest so you can go back whenever you want and skill up your other weapons that are very low. Another small bonus is that they drop Chilled Meat too.
I got unarmed and Maces up to 400 on these guys.
Hope this helps you.
Th zin torga Tails Up quest is given by one of the trolls. And I just tried it, the males aggro. They must have hotfixed it.
The level of the mob and if it's elite or not is what determines the % chance of getting a skill point.
Higher level mobs are better, Elites are better.
To my knowledge, (and I've tried on the numerous immune targets suggested here and elsewhere) as of 3.0.8 you CANNOT SKILL UP ON IMMUNE TARGETS. I don't know if this was a change or what, but after spending 30 minutes whiffing my 352 dagger skill never went up once. Then I stab a normal mob and skill up consistently.
I got my unarmed skill from 399 to 400 on a level 78 non elite.
My suggestion to everyone, pick something you have to farm anyway, and just whack away.
From 350+ go to North of Storm Peaks, and kill Library Guardians. You know, those mechanical gnomes in mounts.
From 399 to 400 I killed like 15/20ish of these. Try it.
There's a way to Bug Artruis the Heartless (Sholazar, for "A Hero's Burden") in his immune state. Blizz has already fixed the boss in Shadow Labs, as they've fixed the guys in Blasted Lands. If you kill an add when he's too far away from Artruis, he gets stuck in his Immune state and doesn't attack you. Got this achievement and the Master of Arms achievements on my 80 disc priest while I was waiting on a GM Ticket for the problem.
Wow Honestly guys reading this makes getting to 400 sounds like a chore. This is what worked for me:
Go to Stormwind and enter The Stockade and start pummeling the first elite. Go make lunch or watch tv. I am a mage and i have gone from 150 to 393 atm in about 30 mins. I am on my second mob.
I spent the last 3 hours trying to level unarmed on my warrior from 399 to 400. I can't just find a mob and afk, because they die pretty quickly. Even lvl 80 mobs aren't lasting long. And anything tougher will probably kill me if I'm gone too long. I obviously can't go unarmed when im raiding or running an instance. So I'm forced to farm the last point, which I'm hearing can take months.
I've already explained, go to Storm Peaks and start punching the mechanic gnomes to the North, I just needed to kill 15-20 from 399 to 400.
They hit hard though, but that's not new.
Completed the last point on this fighting a lv 62 fen strider. Took me about 2o- 25 mins to get last point
go to rivenwood in howling fjord and hit the level 67 or so riven widow cocoons. 0-399 was cake and took about 20 mins (there's also a quest to pick up for these too.) for some reason i'm not special enough to get 400 yet and i've killed at least 8 more critters. don't forget to put your pets on passive.
edit: hit 400 about 10 mins after hitting 399.
I killed the dragon outside caverns of time (well until he despawned that is) trying to get from 399-400. Must not be able to get it up the last point on him, seeing i got from about 360-399 in about 30 mins. Prot pally btw
i just attacked a Grove Walker(treant dudes)out side of dalaran as a warlock and they just keep rejuvinating themselves when they get low so you can just sit there and whack away.
This took longer than I realized. Had to go through about 4 of these guys before I got to 400. I kept aggro on my pet while it was passive, put on aspect of the wild (these guys have thorns...they don't hurt, but it's annoying). When it dinged I also got the achievement for getting a 400 skill on 4 different weapons. Two birds with one stone. Amazing.
Do the defending wyrmrest daily, aggro a dragon, pull said dragon to a ledge you can hit it on foot from, jump off your dragon and start attacking the big blue. punching dragons tends to wear them down slowly, they wont fight back and you'll be on your way to 400 while you can go afk.
Took me a few days to get from 399-400, I was just running around with no weapons doing dailies.
Persevere and it'll come.
I was at 399 for days....then while exploring I decided to try one more time on a lvl 54 Elite Cliff Thunderer in Azshara....I got 400 on the first punch....No lie..hope this helps! Good luck!
Leveling a weapon skill is like leveling fishing from what I can tell. It doesn't matter what level the mob is, or if it's elite or not. I just spent 4 hours total to get my staves, wands, and unarmed all to 400 by using weak, but fast weapons, and attacking Taragaman the Hungerer in RFC. I just lined myself up with one of the paths since he has a very small knockback, and went afk until I heard him die. Then I'd leave the instance, reset, and repeat.
Kuroi, 80 Frost Mage, Duskwood
Everybody was kung fu fighting!
Hit 80 and decided to go for Loremaster. Started out in Mulgore and decided to quest unarmed to skill up. Went from 100-400 in about 3 hours and I did 15 quests.
EASY PEAZY
The Storm Peaks - Dun Niffelem (64.60)
Brunnhildar Prisoners!!!
They are Ice bound, lvl 80 and can't hit back AT ALL!! They lvl your arms great! (until nerfed by blizz in the near future i'm sure)
If you are going afk (and working on a weapon for master of arms)use a gray wep or a low lvl wep so that they dont die. ** i dont know why my armor was getting hurt but i took it off to save some cash. GL

Shadow priest, took me 13 minutes to go 399-400, slapping a lvl 71 Rabid Brown Bear in Howling Fjord.
I would suggest picking up Right and Left handed Brass Knuckles from Thalgus Thunderfist in the Military Ward in Ironforge. They count as un-armed, and increase your speed quite a bit. Very low damage so they will allow you to pound away, without having to find a new mob every 10 seconds.
lvl 80 DK.
i tried several things i thought might work until i realised that armor off and going for the primordial drake eggs in sholazar basin. 30dps and it takes a while to get down 1 egg. and lots of spots where are no mobs at all so no need to clear the area. took less than 10 eggs and less than 1hr :)
Some of the mobs in Crystalsong heal themselves so you can easily beat them down, let them heal, beat them down, again and again until you have the achievement. Hope this helps :)
Fist Weapons lvl you unarmed skill now, and theres some pretty kick ass ones out there. If your not 80 yet, I recommend getting yourself a decent set if you can use them. That way, you'll keep Unarmed up just by doing what you normally do. Will save you a lot of time later, meaning you won't have to go back and spend an hour trying to bitch-slap hogger.
Fist weapons can also have a faster attack speed than unarmed, so they're worth equipping just for that. The faster you can beat on someone, the faster your skill level will increase. Try and find the fastest fist weapons you can, even if they're low-level. Unarmed attack speed is 2.00, so look for something faster than that.
This is a tough achievement when i hit 80 i tanked gundrak hc twice using nothing but unhanded, it took me 4 times(plus 1 violet hold hc) before i got to 400. and since devastate counts as an unarmed attack when unarmed i really hit a lot of hits so it just a matter of time before hitting 400... so seriously those people that hit 400 within 10 minutes of 399: OR you were DAMN lucky OR you are lieing your ass of... i think the last but..
Took my 80 druid about 35 minutes to lvl from 75 to 400 hitting Primordial Drake Eggs in Scholazar. Not bad.
Does this work on a Trainin Dummy's?
