There's a little bit of preparation that goes into this.  First you need to complete the quest "Nat's Measuring Tape", which is done by accessing an object called Battered Tacklebox, inside Zul'Gurub.

After you turn in the quest to Nat Pagle you'll be able to purchase an item called Mudskunk Lure.  Then, head back into ZG and catch 5 Zulian Mudskunk, which can be caught from Muddy Churning Water pools.  Use the Mudskunk Lure along with your 5-stack of Zulian Mudskunk to summon Gahz'ranka.

Note that you don't actually have to KILL him, just summon him.  However you will need to be in a raid group to even enter ZG, so you'll at least need a buddy to make it inside.  It helps if you can stealth to work your way past the 60+ elite mobs that are patrolling, although if you can't stealth or invis you can still be creative and avoid patrols by timing your pats and jumping in the water at key moments.

For any level 80's who just want to know exactly where the hell you find the Nat's Measuring Tape quest:

The Battered Tacklebox that gives the quest is in ZG, (slightly North-)East of Hakkar's temple. Or looking at it a different way, it's west of the Tiger boss, Thekal. There's a little location at the waters edge called Pagle's Point. This is the same spot where you'll "fish up" Gahz'ranka after you've turned the quest in to Nat in DWM, and have picked up the lure.

Creating the lure DOES summon him. When you click on the lure and your have the 5 mudskunks in your bag, it throws it into the river and he comes out.

He isnt that hard , i just did him ok step 1  find somone who is free to make the raid to enter step 2 : go to the left and keep going until the waterfall jump down and go across the river once you go strait ahead and go left there is the palce click The box and go out of ZG go to nat pagle in dustwallow marsh , step 3 for the rest of it you need atleast 300 fishing or poles or armor to get that , lures dont work but bring a few anyway in the river same as before and look for the pools that say something like mucky water , fish there for 5 skunks then go to the place where you got the tape and click the keg , he should hopefully come, so good luck, another note you dont have to kill him so dont think if you do , Iron , Balnnazar

you must be atleast lv 55 to enter ZG but it would help to be far above that lv 70 or above is good as you are less likely to agro the mobs, also after you are in the water a lv 70 should be able to kill the fish in the water easy on your own. if you are luck and are or know a shaman then walking on water is very useful here as you can fish the pools with out having any problems with the packs of crocks on the banks.

Had a friend help me with the raid creation to start this and unfortunatly this doesn't share with those in your raid group...only the person with the lure + 5 mudskanks will get credit.  BUT VERY SOLOABLE for LEVEL 80

Step 1:  Head to Stranglethorn Vale and ride to entrance of ZG (Zul Gurub)

Step 2:  Create a 2 man raid (not completely soloable but they obviously don't need to be there to help you)

Step 3:  Enter ZG...immediatly turn left and walk past 2 sets of troll axethrowers to the 50ft waterfall.  Jump down into the water below and SWIM/LEVITATE whatever to the east about 300-500ft. STAY IN THE RIVER.  On the minimap you'll notice a large brown building to your north as you follow this river east and slightly south.  Once you are past this building stay in the river and go directly north another 200-300 ft to an area with jugs of alcholol on the ground.  There is an extremely small box with a yellow exclamation point above it not more than 5 feet from the shore.  LOOK CAREFULLY amongst the clutter on the ground here.  It's a small white box with inlay designs on it.  Not sure what precursors are needed in terms of fishing skill and/or quests to click this box...but my lvl 80 friend wasn't able to click it, I was.

Once u click this box you'll be given a quest to return to Dustwallow Marsh and talk to Nat Pagle...search Nat Pagle using this website to see his exact location on the eastern coast in that zone.

If you have your FIND FISH ability on you'll notice the pools of mudskanks which you'll need to fish up upon your return journey.  You can fish for 5 now or later (this will take ~10-15 casts).

Step 4:  Go to Dustwallow Marsh and buy the Mudskank Lure that Nat Pagle will sell you once you turn in the quest from the box.  The cost of the lure is 1G.  You will only need 1.

Step 5:  Return to Zul Gurub and return to this same spot where you find the alcohol jugs/quest box.

Step 6:  Click on your mudskank lure and it will instant cast combine the 5 fish from nearby pools that are in your inventory and give you the achievement.  Someone verify if you even need your fishing pole equipped...mine was.  The point here is that you don't cast to get this achievement.

Step 7:  Run / hearth  You can not solo this guy but...

affliction warlock + holy priest duo'd him... nice 2-3 min battle

GL  Expect to spend at least 45 mins from start to finish.

While you are doing this research "The scavenger" achievement because most of the "floating stuff" can be found along you travels to do this Like floating wreckage is by Ratchet, Theramore, Tenaris, etc. and Schooner Wreckage is by Menethil (Just a boat from Theramore after you get the lure from Pagel)

    1. form raid group with someone else (they don't need to go with you) - form a party with them, open your social box, click the raid tab, then click "convert to raid"

    2. Enter ZG (in stranglethorn vale)

    3. basically you just follow the path straight, cross 2 bridges, then around a curve ("the coil"), then straight again, and the quest ! will show up on your left along the river.  If you are 80, you won't aggro anyone unless you run straight through them. The quest is called nat's measuring tape.  On that quest's thottbot page there is a good map of where to go.

    4. exit and go to theramore. Turn in the quest to nat, who is just southwest of theramore. Talk to him, then buy the lure from him. I just took the boat to ratchet from booty bay and ran along the water to theramore (dk using path of frost)

    5. Go back to ZG, and go back to where you picked up the quest. You can also just go down into the water anywhere.  If you have the "find fish" ability turn it on and look for the muddy water pools or something. You can only catch the 5 needed fish out of the pools.

    6. After catching 5 of the fish, use the lure you bought. Right when you do that, you get the achievement. I used it at the place I picked up the quest because then I could just mount up and run away easily. The guy has 333k hp, I didn't want to attempt to solo him...haha

For miners -- there are a bunch of thorium veins in there, the mobs surrounding them are easy to kill (as 80)

      Confirmed.

My guildmate and I did this and it worked perfectly.  Helps that we're in the same house in real life, so if timing is an issue at all, we didn't have that problem, but yes, this does indeed work.

FYI to ppl that do not want to be "saved" to instance after doing this quest/achievement solo. Im lvl 80 Lock and my guild was going to run all ZG for mounts and any lowbies today.I was running to ZG to get quest (must get a buddy to be in raid to get in) and then back to Nat Pagle for lure then back to ZG to fish up the Zulin mudfish (or w/e its called),,,,so thought Id just get my achievement out of the way before our run but as soon as I loaded fish onto lure I immediately got the "Deadliest Catch" achievement and then it said "SAVED TO INSTANCE"!  I didnt think Id be saved to instance since I didnt "KILL" that boss but ran when he spawned thus doing solo and getting achievement but now I cant run with guild for mounts and to clear instance tonight since that save me to instance:(
