So yes, this achievement is indeed possible. However, you're gonna need all the luck you can get... It took me at least twenty tries, and even then, I finished with less than 3 seconds on the clock.
Also note: The 2 minute timer starts WHEN YOU ACCEPT THE QUEST. Not when you get on the drake.
And it ends when you TURN IT IN. Not when you complete it.
One thing that can help is if you start the quest, abandon but pull a few dragon closer to the temple and then re-take the quest.
This is pushing the limits of whats possible. I found that the best way to do it is to cheat. Have a friend help you thats NOT IN YOUR PARTY. use burning speed and fly out to the dragonshire and shut down the glowing thing, pull mobs on the way. hit each mob once, then have ur friend finish them off. Hope that u pulled all the right mobs on the way in, if not use burning speed to find then asap. If u did get them use burning speed to fly back and turn the quest in. And afterwards, be nice and help ur friend get it. gl.

This quest is a huge pain in the butt... you should get more than just 10 achievement points for completing this. Took me well over 20 tries.

Tips
Make sure you know what it will take to kill both kinds of dragons.
Using the speed boost at the start is recommended.
You can cast your spells while moving.
Always be looking for your next kill target and try not to stop moving.
You can use the in game timer by checking the track check box in the achievement menu.
Drakes(the small ones): you can fireball then immolate and move on.
Dragons(big ones): Apply Immolate and Fireball until they die, which will usually be around 4-5.
got this today just work on it and try and get lucky dont do it when theirs other players around you will muck up i did it at 5 seconds left
people keep saying fireball then immolate
as already pointed out you can go out of range
immolate then fireball instant agro/follow and quicker finish on DoT
With this achievement you really have to try and shave every second you can off of your time. Start off by grabbing the quest as you run towards the drake on the left so that you're already in motion and a few steps ahead of where you otherwise would be. If you're a mage, warlock, rogue or any class that has an ability to get to that drake faster should use it. Once you're on the drake, use your drakes sprint and make a beeline straight for the energy beacon type thing that you have to destroy. Once you get there, there should be one of the lesser drakes nearby, hit it with a fireball and dot and then start destroying the energy whatever. The dot will finish the drake off. As you're doing that swivel your camera so that you can find a drake nearby, as soon as you're done target that drake and start DPSing him and as you're doing that, back away from him and towards the temple. Once he's dead or soon to be dead and dotted, then you turn around and target another drake that is in range and DPS him as you move as well. Keep leapfrogging between drakes in this fashion so that you're always DPSing a drake and moving at the same time, make sure to also keep your eye out for the larger dragons because they are as you know harder to find, if you see one change your path so that he is the next one you hit. Keep doing this until either you get all the kills you need or there are no drakes nearby, if there are no drakes nearby before you are done pop your sprint and go for where the entrance to wyrmrest temple is. At this point you can't afford to go anywhere but there or else you'll lose the timer so you simply have to hope that there is a dragon there ready to be killed for you, if not then drop the quest and start it over again. Other than that, you want to make sure you keep your renew up on yourself as much as possible, after you do your fireball ability and your dot is still on cooldown, that is the best time to renew because the fireball has its own shorter cooldown anyway so you arent wasting any of your time casting the renew.
You most likely wont be able to get this done during the day, too many people killing drakes and whatnot making you wait for respawns more or have to fly more than you should to get the achievement. If you're the only one in the area, you should be able to do it relatively easily and the only thing stopping you becomes too many drakes getting on you and killing you. Good luck and have fun
its quite doable, 4 or 5 tries will get you the achieve, jsut gotta be lucky because sometimes theres no dragons around, or theres too many and you die.. evetually ull get it.

Things that could drive you crazy trying to do this achievement:
Casting a damage spell and getting the message "Target not in line of sight" while the target is really in front of you
Other players tapping your target
Realizing that even though you did everything right you haven't really destabilized the Azure Dragonshire
The time you need to dismount and deliver the quest is more than enough to make you fail
Number one spell has a second global cooldown after it's been cast. Why? No really, why?
There are times you could just run back and forth from the temple to Azure Dragonshire without meeting any dragons at all.

There will be times where you do everything right but you'll realize that you just needed 30 seconds more.
Long story short, you need a lot of practice and a lot of luck to do this achievement, you don't really "achieve" anything, unless this achievement was called "Got Lucky".
I tried it today the first day.. and got it done after i read the comments here..
most important is that u dont need to stay in place for the "5" ability.. that saves you 3-4 seconds.
secondly have luck and fight drakes and dragons that are nearly dead. on my try i found 2 drakes and 2 dragond that were killed with 1 shot or immolate.
all after all i got 10 seconds left when i was back at the NPC. just to be dure i decided to unmount to turn it in which results in 3 sec less time.
After many attempts at this, I had a good run and got in by about two seconds.
One thing I noticed that helped me.... fighting around the shrine, the mobs have much less health. Many of them were one shot from dead.
I don't think this is possible to do if you don't fight near the shrine. You need to find and kill the low health mobs.
Tried this at least 20 times, haven't beaten, but have come within 10 seconds a couple of times. The only way to get this by yourself is to use the speed boost whenever you're not in combat, find another drake/dragon to kill within several seconds of each kill (if u find yourself searching for a mob to kill, your only hope is to find a bunch of untapped mobs with low hp), and obviosly, don't let your dragon die as it usually takes at least 30 seconds to land. I also recommened heading to the glowing spire right away, and hope u run into a drake u can kill while heading there (u can fire while moving and hit targets behind u)

Tip : there are 2 types of dragons. 1 is Big, the other one is Small.
you have to Kill Small with 1 dot + 1 cast.
you have to Kill Big with 1 cast + 1 dot + 1cast.
your renew can heal yourself throughout 3 dragons at a time.
it's pretty strong.
and Last tip, which is the most important : kill WHILE you are moving. YOU HAVE TO MOVE your dragon ALL THE TIME. between the location where you gotta go and cast 4th one.

I do this quest everyday just for the heck of it, and I got the achievement by accident. I was just luck, becasue there just happenned to be all the drakes and dragons in the area that I needed, most of which were at half health from NPC red dragons damaging them. So after that, I just speeded the shrine and back, and I got the achievement without really intending to. My advice, just keep doing it, you'll get it eventually, and it's a lot less frustrating if you don't abandon it twenty times because of failing. It's entirely doable by yourself, just need to be lucky and have all the mobs in the right place.
Remember you can attack while flying the other direction.

One thing i have to tell you guys, do NOT hit complete if you're on 0 sec. You must have at least 1 sec on the clock when you hit complete.
I tried it for several days, been successful twice, but the server lagged me out. Finally did it with 20 secs left on the clock.
1 tip to add, if you manage to aggro 2 or more big green dragons, don't panic, and look for friendly red dragons around you, and take them there.
GRRRR I CAME ON SEC TO LATE AND HAVE TO WAIT ANOTHER DAY!!
I did it today in 4 or 5 tries. I was lucky cuz i only killed damaged dragons and drakes.So stay close to the temple where the NPCs are and be happy that you have the achievment
One more gotcha: you can't turn this in while mounted. The guy won't talk to you if you're on the dragon.
The above tips were very helpful, particularly:
- go after the drakes close to the tower so that you get ones that may already be already half dead
- the disruption blast can be done while moving, but you have to be near the ground.

Oh, in case anyone is wondering how I finished the achievement with roughly 25 seconds to spare, the answer is luck. I followed all the instructions I found here, the same basic motions. If there's easy kills around at the start, take them out, if not, head straight for the azure dragonshrine with a speed boost. Destabilize, then just start killing while you make your way back to the temple. Took me about 20 tries, this was (as you can see) the first success.
The secret is perserverance.
I've laughed at a lot of the posts on different quests and achievements that complained about being impossible, Blizz you suck, etc etc.. and never had a problem with any of them. Except this one.
The cooldowns SUCK, and your dragon can be a bit of a pussy. about 45x so far, not even close. Theres either no dragons anywhere or you get jumped by 10 out of nowhere and your sorry excuse for a dragon goes down in no time.
Hey, every attempt I made was not even close, until the one where I absolutely owned it. Just keep trying. The cooldowns are a bit broken, but there are some generic rotations that work. Just remember: You can shoot backwards, so abuse it. Never pay attention to the target you're killing, save for their health. Always be looking at where to go next.
If you get too many on you, better luck next time... It happens. I agree it's a ridiculous achievement but it's very doable.

can't really see how anyone could use 20 tries if they actually tried.
only tips i followed was:
use immolate and fireball once on small ones
speedboost directly to the destabilizing area
immolate the big ones and fireball as much as u can
so if you try, and get lucky, its not that hard :D
and yes, i have done the TBC bombing achievements :)
I done this with 30 sec left on my clock only to find out that the shrine didn't destabilize..apparantely it's not enough just to press the button:( about 50 tries later I still haven't done it. it's all about luck...
Dammit, I am so pissed they nerfed this achievement. This screenshot was like, one of my biggest achievements in-game, and now I have no way to prove that I did it back when it was still a two minute limit, and still hard as fuck...
Complete crap is if you are forced to dismount near another dragon you can't get back on immediately because you are in combat. WTF??? I thought that was the point of the quest!!!
After 3.2 patch time was upped to 3 mins and the dragons are a lot easier to down. Should be easier to get this achievment.
Yeah...super easy now. I even had time to leave combat, heal, and re-enter combat.
agreed. done it in first try while even having problems with the shrine.
I got this done my first try. I wasn't going for it either. Not sure why people thinks it's so hard, I was the only one killing the dragons for that quest too. Did it while leveling, 72 draenei shaman.

Very easy to do now. As long as you start attacking one mob after the other it's not really a problem.
Fast-fly to the shrine, hit 5, race back and target as many as you can you are clustered, making sure you're hitting 3 when it procs. It is a matter of speed and luck and getting them to drop quickly, and keeping the DoT's on as many as possible without dying.
