The level of a glyph in no way corresponds to how powerful it is, it only corresponds to the relative level of the ability... next pls

I noticed that too, and the glyph of flash of light seems messed up at first but ends up costing less mana to heal This post is faded because it has a negative score.
Some glyphs are nice for a ret pally (longer consecration, extra damage when stunned, 10% more damage, etc,).
However, there is nothing very interesting for holy. The reduced mana or extra time for blessings are not so great because it's only used every 10 or 30 minutes) The flash gives 50+140*.5=120% heal, but because the HOT portion doesnt stack, its useless in raid where i often cast flash heal every 5-10 seconds. I will wait for more glyphs to come with WotLK.
For ret Pally the Major Glyphs are great but for any Pally there really aren't any good Minor ones. They mostly just increase the duration which is nice but not that usefull. I do however like Glyph of Lay on Hands that 20% adds up to a lot for any spec.
Yea, holy pallies kinda got the short end here. Also, why is the +1 second more Hammer of Justice a major one? I use the Soc and 10% more damage judgement major ones for ret. Too bad the 3rd major slot requires 80. I'd rather have like crusader strike has a chance to reduce targets movement speed maybe for a major glyph. It would be good for when blessing of freedom is down :D
Agreed, the minor Glyphs are wimpy and the major glyphs
are mostly useless for Holy. I hope this is fixed or others added. What about allowing some to cross-over like the Priest healing glyphs? Maybe have some that work on any class that has more in their Holy tree or Retribution tree, etc.? When WotLK actually comes out and the Glyphs for the level 80 bubble are revealed, I sincerely hope there is a kick-a** Major Healing Glyph or this experiment will fizzle fast for my chosen profession. My last comment....there are not enough minor Glyphs for Holy!!!
just like everything else on this game the price will drop im not saying it will be soon, but i rember when a stack of copper ore was up to 4g now its about 20s so juts wait a little longer if you dont wanna spend the gold.
I have the "Glyph of Blessing of Might" it says its sposed to extentend the durantion of my spell from 10m to 30mins when i cast on myself, but it doesn't i don't know if anyone else has had the same problem. Did i get ripped or what? This post is faded because it has a negative score.
Scapman, you need to check it for yourself before double posting wrong information. Glyph of flash heal actually heals you for 120%. So "the other guy" was right. (if your normal FoH heals you for 1000, with this glyph you will heal 500 + 500*1,4 over 12sec = 1200)
In your earlier post you mentioned that glyph of avenger shield is good for ret paladin (PvP).. Your argument sounds nice but paladin who has that ability is called a prot paladin.
Can you put the same major glyph? in 2 or more slots?
for example 2 glyphs if seal of command which will increase chance to deal SoC by 40%? or 2 or 3 glyphs which increase judgement dmg by 10%?
I am protect palla and i really want to suggest me what glyph to use!!!!
Glyph of Crusader Strike is useless if you're good enough at the ret spec. Ret pallies should never run out of mana now. Between 15% instant mana restore every 8 seconds and 25% MoT restore every minute, you should be fine. In really long fights, you should have at least someone healing you and giving you back whatever you haven't restored with the new abilities via Spiritual Attunement.
Since playing in the new expansion, I haven't needed to sit and drink once between fights. (I have, but only if I'm in a hurry :) ).
they spelt intial wrong on the Glyph Of Flash Of Light.
i thought it was fun =[
How do u get your consencration to break the ground like that This post is faded because it has a negative score.
The Glyph of Flash of Light seems to be pretty accurate in being 140% as effective...If I've done my math right normal heals are 131.333% as effective w/ the glyph, crits are 141.2%, and crits with wings up are 155.55% as effective, so this glyph would be great for saving mana and doing good healing, the only problem is that it takes away one of the best heals a paladin has for quick bursts of damage...The hot does not stack so there's no point in healing more than once every 12 sec, and it will make 5 mans considerably more difficult because you'll have to rely on holy light more often.
Make a glyph so last rang (FOL) does normal healing and second last rang (FOL) does the 50% healing and 140% healing over time.
thats way beter! Or make a new spell that does healing over time paladin needs it. but dont take away our best spell!!
I've been wondering what glyphs to use as a Tankadin. I see some contenders but nothing that gives me a good feeling for my tank. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you.
Edit: I read the comment from one of the posts above. same ideas I had but i'm looking for other glyphs that will work well with the glyphs he suggested.
why the hell are there no glyphs of holy shield its the most important spell in a tankadin arsenal there should be a glyph of holy shield even if only increass the charges or maybe the threat or something but why isnt there one
I myself being a proct paladin went with two glyph for boosting lay on hands mana boost and the other gave the paladin back an amount equal to 20% of the mana his target gained. Now me myself i use loh onmyself when i have a weak healer or their healing my dps who are fucking idiots and attack the wrong targets. Its a great life saver and as a main raid tank i find its a nice way to refill your mana when you in a long all vs boss fight and Sanc just isn't cover your mana use to regen coasts.
There are a grand total of 5 minor paladin glyphs right now, 3 of which increase the duration of a blessing, IF it's cast on the paladin.
Glyphs do not stack. SO: Pick up: Sense Undead Lay on Hands and one of Blessing of Wisdom, Blessing of Kings, or Blessing of Might (depending on whichever you use more often) For Greater Glyphs its up to you. Personally I don't see why everyone seems to think that Holy Paladins got screwed over, I'm having to decide between 3 or 4 possible configurations to help with healing. Right now its Seal of Light, Holy Light and Beacon of Light, but I may change Holy Light to Flash of Light. The old Flash of Light (making it a HoT) was pretty worthless but the new version with the 5% crit chance makes it worth getting.
Noticed not much talk in regard to Prot pallies. And that which was said is either wrong or outdated. So this is my updated input.
Glyph of Divine Plea: A must have, with talents in "Guarded by the Light" as all prot pallies should have, DP will refresh on every melee attack, making it constant through any mob/boss fight. So a consistent damage reduction of 3%. Glyph of Hammer of the Righteous: Attacks 4 targets instead of just 3. Great for threat. Paired with Seal of Vengeance you can easily stack on 4 targets. It also greatly increases overall DPS. The third Major is really up to you. If you have mana issues get Spiritual Attunement +2%, or SoR -80% mana. Threat issues, get Judgement +10% dmg or Righteous Defense +8% chance. Otherwise, get the Glyph of Seal on Vengeance as that is the main tanking Seal and will grant you 10 expertise. SoV is a great threat increase, and in the case of a threat wipe, the Damage Over Time will help give immediate threat following the wipe. As of now, the DoT=.15AP+.88SP over 15 seconds and stackable up to 5 times. As far as Minor Glyphs go, the pickings are slim for Prot pallies. I would say that Lay on Hands -5min CD is nice to have. I also have the Sense Undead for +1% dmg. Aside from that, the only beneficial minor for a Prot pally is Glyph of Blessing of Kings because it is the only Minor that reduces the cost of a Greater Blessing. And now that GBoK is trainable and not based on talents, you'll find you use it more often, thus eliminating the use for a drink after rebuffs. I hope that eventually they come out with better Minors. But that's how it is for Prot at the moment.
I picked up Glyph of Divine Storm, Glyph of Avenging Wrath, and the Seal of Command as my major glyph's for my Ret Pally. Also got the Blessing of Might minor glyph.
I don't regret getting any of them, they all help so much.
I am a noob to using a ret pally and I am lvl 24 and i need some help in understanding and picking which glyphs, minor & major would be wise to get. I'm usally soloing if that helps any
