You are obviously a fail lock if you don't use shadowbolt, death coil, immolate or howl of terror. Depending on spec you should use many of the other spells often.

Most of the locks I know are afflic anyways, and it seems that most of the glyphs are suited more for demonology spec... I guess :(

Seriously... I'd love to use soulfire but I burn enough shards as it is in both PVE and PVP. Would be better if they just killed the soul shard requirement on the ability since Chaos Bolt does more damage... and soul fire isn't appealing right now..

A glyph of soul fire would be great
"Your Soulfire ability no longer requires a soul shard to cast."
"Whenever you cast Soulfire, your next spell cast within 6 seconds has it's critical strike chance increased by 15%. Effect cannot occur more than once every 25 seconds."
"Your Soulfire has an additional 20% chance to critically strike."
"The damage from your Soulfire is increased by 15% when your target is affected by your immolate effect."

Just SOMETHING that'll make people want to cast the spell outside of being demonology spec >_<

For minor glyphs, the one for underwater breathing is not totally useless, and the one to reduce cast time to banish is very helpful for those relatively few times I need to cast it.  I picked up the eye of kilrogg one just to fill up the empty slot.  Can't recall when I used the Eye last, but flying it seems cool.

To the top comment. Be careful who you call Fail a Howl of terror is needed only in rare case. Shadow bolt is never needed until it become an instant cast (nightfall).  Death coil is only used if needed IF needed to keep the upper hand. an Immolate is a worthless waste of time to cast.  A Good Pvp Lock, even without good gear, is one you uses his Dots, reg Fear, and Life Drain and can move around unpredicatablly while placing the Dot stopping only for a sec for haunt and Unstable afflic.  Than checkmate, fear and life drain.  There is nearly no def against this combo, i used it with great success in arena matches.  Any lock that relies on the other stuff just end up dead at my feet.

Well, for an affliction lock you may do this, but for destruction many glyphs completely WTFPWNBBQ. Conflagorate not consuming Immolate, Succys LoP in combat by removing dots, Immolate dealing 10% more damage, 20% crit on Shadowburn when used on targets with less than 35% health, which is you mostly when use it anyway to finish off an opponent. And for demonology warlocks, 5% less damage taken via Soul Link, 20% increased AP on your felguard, ect. Instead of doting, fearing, and kiting, we just kill 'em off before they can get to us and start beating our faces in, and glyphs help us do this even better.

    As PVP Destro:

    Major:
    Conflag
    Immolate
Shadowburn (Thinking of going Shadowflame but it's hard to run or fear enemies away unless demon circling around them)

    Minor:
Souls (since there's nothing else better)
    Kilrogg (For recon purposes)
    Drain Soul

Conflag + Immo glyph makes sense to use since they're synonymous and you don't want to have to recast immolate immediately after casting conflag. I wouldn't touch incinerate glyph cause the dmg isn't high enough on the glyph. Shadowflame, Shadowburn or *Healthstone Glyphs are reccomended. Shadowburn cause of the extra crit on low HP targets. Shadowflame for snaring and control and *Healthstone for use with Imp Healthstone talent and macro combination with Demon Armor

    *Healthstone Macro
    /cast Demon Armor
    /cast Battlemaster Trinket
    /cast Healthstone
    /cast (Any health potion here)

The macro saves your ass pretty good. You gain almost all your health back. Best part is that each of these items/abilities don't share a cooldown and are individually categorized so they'll all pop at once :-D

It's kinda idiotic to take Glyph of Conflagrate for pvp as Destruction, why? Cause it will mess with seduce, having it non-glyphed makes you able to take of the DoT when you see fit and seduce without having to worry about it being broken.
The only way you can pvp with that glyph is if you also take Glyph of Seduce, wich will pretty much waste you two glyph-slots.

So what you're saying is that instead of microing your character, placement being very important, cast times being prioritized, you should just spec Destro, stand in one spot, and play a mage?

Saying Destro is more skill oriented makes me laugh. and I've been pwning face on Warlocks since people thought we were the most useless class ever made, and yes there was a time when that was the case.

It all comes down to play style. I've seen some crazy good Destro Locks, and I've seen some crazy good Aff locks ( I'd like to consider myself one. ) Simply put, some players just play better using certain specs. Some destro locks just don't have what it takes to play Affliction properly, so they say that it's not as good as Destro, meanwhile Affliction locks like myself have played Destro and feel that Affliction is stronger ect... One thing I have to point out is that for Arenas a huge consideration is your team mates. For Affliction, It's hard to deny the regen you get by throwing up Corruption, CoE, Haunt, then drain lifing them down. I can get a ridiculous amount of health from that, something Destro couldn't do. We also have a bit more control which helps.

All in  all, It's incredibly hard to split hairs here, take a look at the high rated Warlocks. I have, and there's a good amount of both specs being used.

Also, I generally spec to get ShadowBurn and Ruin, with the pushback Destro talent as well. So when I set up a player to drain them down, I have Nightfall procing, then I can shadowburn, then Deathcoil, then I run up and Aoe fear, start the drain again, proc, rinse and repeat... I run off mainly instant casts, my character is always moving in the right direction...

      Meh. To each their own.
