Also, for user-created channels,  /chathelp  gives you a list of usable commands in them. (Many are only usable by the current channel owner.) The one of them I use THE most is /ann , which toggles off/on the "[Name] joined channel."/"[Name] left channel." announcements [it does _not_ "add an announcement" - it's on by default after each time the channel fully empties out]. And don't forget the relatively-new Social sub-pane that lets you manage your channels (and shows you who's in one if you click on it).

I'm pretty sure I ask a dumb question but can you communicate with the opposite faction? Is there a common channel? If it exists please write the command.

Dumb question or not, every new player will have a 'dumb' question at least at one point.  Heck, I swam up the west coast of the Eastern Kingdoms to get to UC once, without knowing about Zeppelins.  8|

Aside from default emotes like /spit and /smile and others, there is no other 'normal' way to talk to the opposing faction.  However, Horde players can type B U R and that will translate to L O L for Alliance players or V C V for Alliance and that will translate to L O L for Horde, or supposedly, from Alliance DD EE P A D means YOU LOSE to Horde.

Thanks very much for the help. I probably should have say it in the previous post but the reason I asked about a common channel is a weird thing that happened to me in Tanaris. I tried to kill another player from the opposite faction and he ran away, but after a few minutes when I was in Gadgetzan he came near me and tell me "You're rude". This is why I thought there is a "secret" common channel.

maybe all he did was to target you and type /rude

No. I'm sure he didn't do that. It appeared to me like " [Channel name] Player name says: " and then his message which I don't recall if it was in red color. I've tested the emotes on my friends and I'm sure it wasn't one. But never mind...I think I'll stress a GM one day about this thing...maybe I'll get something out of them, although I don't expect anything great to happen.

this does not work   (and thats why they dont respond)

/emote anything you type

will translate to

* is doing some strange gesture

all the regular gestures, like /salute /dance /bow /wave etcetc
do work

You forgot GuildRecruitment. Also the /1,/2, /3 etc vary from time to time and are 'shortcuts'. The only ones that are usually consistent are /1, /2, /3  but even they occasionally get mixed up.

Alt + up arrow key / Alt + down arrow key brings back a previously typed message.  Can be quite useful.

Hello!

Have any new commands been added?

If someone has a list of any new commands that they could post up, I would greatly appreciate it.

I have seen one, but don't know how to do it, where the group leader can trigger a, "ready?" box that other ppl in the group have to click on to say if they are ready.

That was pretty cool.
