Looks like it should be a pally shield though.
i was a bit pulled between skull of ruin and this. i eventually vendored royal crest cause i was well over the 540 def cap. i swung on a 20 def to shield on skull of ruin. now that i've upgraded a bit my defense is in jeopardy so i'm just gonna run this heroic strath again. easiest heroic ever. arthas can be a noob though for the gauntlet
Honestly, this sheild is JUST great looking.
Its pretty big (blizzard always makes their sheilds too small) and the the colors and stuff go really well together. The whole coat of arms deal with the crossed swords is even cooler. I havent seen better looking than this, and of course the stats are great too! Too bad there arent more like this, maybe one that a prot pally would really want over prot warriors.
Have this on my main, That run was the best run of a instance i have ever done, Got the tank bracers, tank legging, and to wrap it up the shield, had a hard time picking as i had a titansteel shield wall, But this has other stats and makes the shield wall look like a buckler in comparison of this, Would've been cool if you could take those swords off it, Don,t Care about it now that i have the red sword of courage, But this might be one of the greatest looking shields, Anybody who says diffrent is stupid or either a upset DK about not getting to use shields,
Man this skin kicks ass, Even with a horde toon like my Orc itz still pretty sweet, any allies ask, my toon pryed it form the cold dead hands of a alliance warrior during the second war lol. However this will last me till the 25man shield from KT.
Kicking myself, because I bought Crygil's Discarded Plate Panel for 35 emblems just a few days before heading to CoS for the heroic daily. The emblem shield is almost identical to this crest, except it trades some defense for dodge. Using the crest at the moment because I need the defense and it's just so nice looking.
Anyway, don't buy the emblem shield unless you have nothing else to spend emblems on. This crest seems to drop off Mal'ganis nearly half the time.

I was trying to get this sheild for the past 2 weeks, it would not drop. since i had nothing to spend my badges on i bought this last night

WTF!! 15 runs and counting, this damn (but amazing) shield will not drop! what the hell Blizzard?!? This used to be my favorite heroic but now that ive ran it so much im getting bored of it, god damnit!
Really weird how luck works in wow. been running UP for red sword of courage probly 6 times now, went to Hcot with guild first time on heroic on shield dropped and i won, just thought that was weird This post is faded because it has a negative score.
yea 37.0% drop chance is bullshit. i ran this 7 times now and sheild hasnt dropped yet...i have the titansteel sheild wall right now and im looking to replace it but isnt working out at all, those ppl tht got it first run, VERY LUCKY...im goin on my 8th now, hoping for the damn thing to drop..
Done it at least 20 times... no shield :(
Was lucky on all my other drops but this shield just won't drop. i know eventually it will so i got to keep trying i guess.
Done this COS many times on my dps/tank many times and iv never seen this shield drop... kinda annoying and odd that everyone is saying that it always drops for them but never for me !_!

I ran H culling 38 times....it finaly droped

What you need to do to get this shield is this: First you need to buy all the mats for the titansteel shield, then you buy the mats for the +20 def chant, then u make the shield and enchant it, then you put it on. Then the next day you'll tank H CoS for the 15 time (which is why you got tired of waiting for the shield so you crafted the epic one) because its the daily and guess what the shield drops. That might just be my luck but blizzard decided to be extra nice because I got the red sword of courage the next run and the +111stam essence of grossmar the run after that. So I guess I got all the gear I wanted but im out 500g for the shield which now sits in my bank collecting dust.
Hi all, respecced tank a few weeks ago with my belf pally. Want this shield badly, however, 12 runs and still no drop. I had the same problem with the red sword of courage from UP, took 7 runs. I keep seeing the same things drop over and over but I'm starting to think this shield no longer exists. I wont give up but is that just some rotten luck!? I can guarentee if i log over to my priest and run it 2moro it will drop -_-
Anyways, good luck to any others out there that is struggling their cotton socks off to get this very good and nice looking shield. Laters, Nessaí
Been running CoS forever with my Ret Pally working on getting this for my prot set.
It finally drops but the tank had a green shield :( Tank kept losing aggro too but whatever, maybe the shield will help him =P Damn this thing not wanting to drop >.<
Had ran CoS reg 9 times for the lesser shield to no avail..

This shield is fucking awesome.
But I have to say, it's ironic seeing Horde with this shield. Yes, Lordaeron is still Alliance territory. Even if the Forsaken occupy the Undercity right now, that land belongs rightfully to the Alliance. The Forsaken are NOT former citizens of Lordaeron; they're former High Elves from Quel'Thalas, turned to Undead by Arthas. This is shown in WCIII, and it is shown how Sylvanas (who leads the Undercity) becomes their leader. The Undead joined the Horde because the Alliance would never allow such wretches, and if you look at how the Forsaken are involved in necromancy and other pure evil practices, you can't blame them. So yeah, it's ironic seeing Horde with these shields. They're basically wearing the shield of their enemy, especially the orcs, who were actually in battle with Lordaeron when it was still in one piece.

Now I envy non dk tanks even more.
