Soloed at 77 w/ affl/demo lock.  Took 22 min. but wasn't too bad, watch aggro and stay at max range so his intercept isn't an issue.  He's got 225k health.  Also get out of the blizzard asap!  Good hunting

The Problem: Without a healer you will die!

The Cool Shit: You can fly back to your body (and battle zone) in about 10 sec. Therefore, unless you all wipe at the same time, your partners should be able to kite him around until you get back and re-engage

died 3 times in fight, but beat him in the end

tried to solo on level 80 unholy DK with frost pres active. had 21k hp 23k armor used pot and gift of naaru to heal. work for a while or so but around 70% i had nothing but CDs on  all my skills (icebound, boneshield, army of dead ,ect) and got my ass handed to me.


this is nearly impossible to solo. 2man possible but solo unless your a lock or holy healing pala is near impossible in my opinion.

Solo'ed as a L80 unholy DK with tanking set. Took me 3 tries. Key is parking yr pet passive at 1 corner. Bone-shield up + horn of winter. When he lands, disease him up, BS for death runes, and Death Strike spam. Run away from frosted area, blizzard, whirlwind. Sac yr pet early for a good heal when yr death strike can no longer top u off. During the 50% phase, bandage up (still in combat, can't eat). Summon pet n park at corner again for a 2nd emergency heal (that's why u dun wanna sac the 1st time too late).

Things to take note: Always keep bone shield up at every cd. Horn of winter too. When snared n can't run outta whirlwind/blizzard on time, use IBF or AMS. Use IBF often for every whirlwind whenever cd is up. Hope this help

80 unholy DK.  Made it solo past the split scene... then got him to 70k and ran out of tricks.  I think I could have done better but you would have to fight flawlessly and have army of the dead.  Gargoyle was just about to reset too. I even used my gouls life and I have RuneTap 2x 20 percent max health every 30secs.  350/70 not bad but no heroic prize.

Tried as retri first, got owned in some secs haha, but as holy however I just sat in retribution aura and healed with flash of light and when he bursted me good I used holy shock.. Just use Seal of Wisdom and judge with light/wisdom depending on your mana, keep sacred shield up at all time, holy shock and shield of righteousness.. It took me about 12minutes or such I think, used wings 3x :p no need for bubble.

ps. If you wanna kite him in the Whirlwind mode don´t run too far away (I did with rocket boots), he then charges you with stun.

Solo'd as a lvl 80 enhance shaman.
Used wolves and earth elemental on first part before the fight stops.
And on second part just dps'd him and ran from blizzards etc, had to keep healing myself when i could, and I used 1 health potion.

Solo'd by myself a few minutes ago as 80 DK Tank specced with 29.5k hp. You will need Rune Tap, improved and everything. What you want to do is when he begins his attack rotation he starts with blizzard, just move out of the blizzard to continue your attack then eventually he will start with whirl-wind. Now that you're out of the blizzard you can run away from the whirl-wind quite easily. I think I was able to use chains of ice once or twice to help get away.

Now the only thing you want to do is keep your HP up no matter how long it takes to get his down, so what I did was put my diseases on him and just used death strike as much as possible. nearly every hit with death strike healed me for about 10% of my total hp so it helps a lot in the end.

Icebound fortitude helps a lot, pop it whenever necessary and unbreakable armor was nice too, only for one use tho. Did not have to use army of the dead or raise dead.

DK tanked and kited him - left minion by horn to sacrifice when needed as heals.
Kept bone shield up and hit icebound fortitude when he whirlwinds.
Medallion of heroism helped as well for added heals.
bandaged up during the cut scene in the middle of the fight
Used death pact toward the end of the fight.
Summon gargoyle as soon as runic power allows then hit it as often as you can.
Keep diseases on him and keep backing up. definitely a kiting fight.

soloed as lvl 80 feral druid - average gear, i.e no naxx gear, just boe epics and honor reward epics

walked backwards in a big circle to avoid blizzard and was fine

the event pauses when hes 50% and the lich king turns up - continues after he kills the body of that valguarde (the banshee lives on)

kept up demo roar, faerie fire, lacerate x5 and mangle - continued this for about 5 mins and he went down no probs

This was one hard solo.  Felguard/Emberstorm lock, same strategy as the last guy, pretty much:

dot up
heal pet
run out of blizzard
use healthstone/healing pots as necessary

Then he died... ;)

I joke, but it was difficult.

Soloed with my heroic geared enhancement shaman.
I started the fight with my wolfs so I could burst him and get his health down fast. When wolfs disapeared I used stoneclaw totem to survive WW and when he casts frostbolt or blizzard I ran away and healed myself up. After the event with the lich king I summoned my wolf and my fire elemental and used heroism, was quite easy to burst him down.
I was also able to solo the first 3 in the arena.

I have tried several times to down this guy, but i cant. im a lvl 80 Marksmanship hunter geared in full epics from naxx25 and ulduar10.  every time i try this i try tanking with my pet and he kills him within the first 15 seconds, mend pet just isnt doin enough.

Just keep running and spamming anti-magic shell.
took about 3minutes not long at all.
just keep using deathstrike and icebound fortitude / antimgic shell up and you'll breeze through
i found ifyou chains of ice'd him aswell and bandaged occasionally it helps alot

It is absolutely soloable with a Ret Paladin. Just keep in mind that - even you loose DMG - you can use shield and one hand weapons. A little bit less damage to heal is better than not blocking anything. In this fight mana should not be a problem. You have a rest at 50% when the Lich King comes and starts a dialogue, so use Divine Plea and also don't forget that even Arcane Torrent gives you 6% mana. Thanks for the tip with Sacred Shield - it helped a lot as well.
Major focus in this fight is not you enemy but your own life. Rather heal and use JoLight to gain back mana. Most important: Go backwards in circles the whole fight. Use Flash of Light as soon as it is instant available. Use Divine Shield the first time you get close to be owned because it will reload quick enough to be used a second time due to the dialogue coming at 50%.  LoHands is good for both - life and mana if you have the right glyphs. Use that combination if possible. I used a Health potion rather than mana because crits can hit you down really quick and as I mentioned mana should not be a prob for Ret Paladin.
Back to walking back in circles: Why? Because you can almost always hit him and you get out of his whirlwind which gives you a possibility to use Holy Light more often. Flash of Light is not strong enough for this fight to only rely on that.
BTW: I did that with a not too well equipped Level 80 Ret Pally:
18k life, 20k Armor, 17.8% crit, 3k AP buffed, 5.8k mana, 2 epics, 3 greens.

Soloed itp..im a ret pally in t7.5. used LoH, Avenging Wrath, Divine Shield, and Hand of protection. Make sure to always keep sacred shield up and use art of war when u can. heal up when the lich king comes. hope this helps other palys :D

demo lock lvl 80, tried it, cant do it...he jumps to hit the lock a few times, stuns, lost my health, even with healthstone and 1 pot, still not enough for me to survive and heal felguard all the time and if I dont spell him and only heal felguard and let him deal with mob, takes way too long...dont wanna spend 15 mins to kill 1 mob...thats crazy but well one of those that demo lock cant solo...after all, it doesnt happen too often for us not to be able to solo a lvl80+ elite ;-) either get a healer or an extra tank but I dont think it needs 5 men, 3 at most

i just soloed it with my dier bear form, in 4-5 mins. Didnt need to use potions or anything cus of my bear. I didnt cared for WW, just move like 3 yards each time he did blizzard to get out of the way. Dont know if it was nessesery, as i finished him off with 85% of my HP left. Added some screenshots if u dont belive me =P

Duo'd this with my Rogue (Combat Daggers) and my wife's Warlock (Demonology).  She had Felguard tank, dotted Overthane up, then Health Funnel on Felguard, repeat as needed.  Standard boss fight for me, just back up when he popped Whirlwind.

Just solod this as a 79 UD Demonology Warlock ..

I just did CoW on the elite let VW tank and healed him ..
added a few dots and did Drain Life to heal myself,
healed VW,ect.

Definately a bit tougher than the previous one but still soloable. 80 Warlock with Destro/Demo spec was able to do it by sending Felguard on him, while for a large period of time I just used only curses on him. Added Immolate after a few and took him like that till the end. Health Funnel on the pet at all times. Was fun to do it ;)

just run out when he does blizzard and whirlwind and use anti- magic shell when he fcasts frost bolt and don't forget to use death strike and you'll down him in no time

80 affliction warlock. No raid gear what so ever (never been to a instance in WotLK), but all purples (minus one). 2052 spelldamage. Used voidwalker. Aww, old trusty Voidy, never lets me down. Well. Sometimes, but not this time.

Curse of weakness, haunt and corruption, healed void when needed. Had to use soulshatter once, and I used two healthstones and one Runic health potion. I'm sure it could have been done much more efficiently but I did get him down on first try.

Got a little confused when he was down to around 140k health. Enter Lich King! Balargarde will become immune to attacks and they will talk for a little while. HEAL UP! I thought "was that it?" but the fight continues once they're done gossiping.

cords r correct and i soloed as a lvl 79 demo 0/54/16 lock just sent in felguard health funnel,corruption,and swapt between curse of doom and curse of agony had a few close calls but never died had 2 use healthstone, drain life, and death coil, 2 keep my health up, target had around 250k health

guy doesnt hit to hard almost soloed him but i went oom and he hit me for 3k had him to 760 is health left was not a happy time = (

Solo'd as frost mage with 20k hp(pvp gear), failed at numerous attempts, but ended with 9k hp and 3k mana on the successful one. Summoned water ele at 1 corner, mirror images at another, and me at another, so when he constantly changed aggro he wastes time by running accross, when lich king came and left, i had 20 sec left on the cds on ele and mirror, so stay alive till they come back, then repeat.

I cant even blow into the horn i saw ur pics and it sparkled mine isnt even sparkling idk why, Please help!

Solod as a 80 BM hunter with gears from ToC

First tried to solo it with a ferocity pet (Skoll) and got owned

Then tried with a tenacity pet (blood of the rhino helps a lot) and beat him (took some time tho)

Just be sure to heal your pet as often as possible and pull him out of blizzard and whirlwind, and you beat him.
