These rules have been created before and moved into the root directories.  Apparently, this was not enough.  Here's a simplified FR&G.

1) Currency selling, Account trading/selling, Power-Leveling, Bot/Hacking tools, Private server advertising, Guide selling
This will mark your account as a Troll.  That means you will still be able to post, but no one will be able to see your post.

People talking about such things but not advertising it to benefit from is okay however.  Just remember that Blizzard made the game so you can play it.  A private server means you're not supporting Blizzard and you do not own a legit game.  If you're playing an illegitimate game, keep that info to yourself.

2) Vulgarity, expletives, anti-lifestyle remarks, gibberish, ALL CAPITALS
As an open board, you can use expletives as you see fitting, but know that calling someone names followed by calling him/her a mother-f****r and saying that s/he rapes dogs asses is obviously taking it too far.

DO NOT post your titles and comments in all capitals.

Also, gibberish and anti-lifestyle remarks are prohibited.  Breaking this rule will not mark you as a Troll.  Your post may be edited by a moderator, even deleted accordingly.  We will only mark you as a Troll if you continuously do this.

3) Creating new threads/posts, editing threads/posts
This is pretty simple - when creating a thread, use a short-hand title.  Don't put "HELP!" in it.  Everyone knows you need help.  Don't put "A simple question".  Obviously, it's a question. You don't have to tell us that it's a question. That's like standing in front of a table of apples and you put up a sign that reads "Apples".  No kidding?

If you're asking what class is good for soloing, put "Ideal class for soloing?" in the topic.

As well, if you need to edit something in your existing thread or post, click the EDIT link.

I actually hesitated greatly before posting this sticky up.  Off-Topic is great for discussions too.  There was a massive post about soldiers and their duties, etc.  There was quite a bit of flaming from veterans and soldiers against the comments I made in there.

However, they were no where near being banned.  They were just angry and misinterpreting.  So this sticky is more to do with telling those like Vintertor here: http://thottbot.com/v4204844 - to ease off on excessive swearing and stuff.  If you look into that thread, I had to delete two of his very abusive comments.  One towards another member and the other towards me, excluding the one you may read about me being sexually abused.

/sigh

I don't want to make people feel uncomfortable for having rules here, but as you can see, they're pretty basic and allows a lot of room for self-expression.  I just don't want to see a pic of your penis wearing a coat of jello on here.

Can I ask why you need to bump threads which have been stickied?

Thottbot designed the forum unlike many other forums out there.  It would be nice that he integrated PHPBB to the site or something similar.

Anyway, stickies start losing its stickiness after a few new posts.  That's why stickies needs to be re-bumped to stay on the first page.

It's tedious and annoying actually.

design feature .. or flaw .. or .. however you look at it
the whole forum is designed around the comment system, by the looks of it ;)

in a topic you can rate things up and down .. if the average of some formula is above something it will mark the post as yellow.
coincidentally the negative ones tend to float down, they collapse.

coincidentally if the first post of a topic in the forum section is marked yellow, the entire thread shows as yellow in the index.

incidentally due to that the positive marked yellow posts tend to float up those are shown first.

(so you see its not actually, pinned as sticky, but something similar)

however what seems to happen on top level - a.k.a. the index of the forum, after a while there are too much new topics so they are still 'sticky'.. but show up as sticky on the next page due to some odd 'bug' somewhere.
