Well, not exactly, but kind of...  Check this out: http://us.blizzard.com/store/browse.xml?f=c:5,c:33 - this link goes to Blizzard's online store where you can buy a special WoW pet for your WoW toon.  Looks cool - Panda Dude and a Necro Dude, but really, 10 bucks?!?  I guess a part of it goes to a charity, but still. 

Mind you, it's possible that Blizzard will expand on this virtual store in the near future to include 'costumes' and decorations for your mounts, maybe even your little in-game 'storefront' instead of using the AH? 

Its for those people that need to get every pet in the game. They need to farm the mobs who drop them, do some pre BC junk for them, pay thousands of gold for a pet only found on the opposite faction side. Spending 10$ for more pets seems like a great deal for them. The half of the 10$ going to the make a wish foundation is just something to make them feel less foolish about it and more willing to do it.

You know one of the reasons why I never liked guild wars was due to them chargeing for similar things.

Hmm I dunno, I suppose there is no in game effect and it's another way for blizzard to milk our cash from us.  The day they start offering epic items for money will be the day I quit wow.

And the day thousands more join. I never thought of that idea but Im betting its somethig that could happen in the future.

That would be terrible if that were to happen.  That would be no less than 'cheating'.  They might as well make it so you can buy the ability to level from 1 to 80 instantly.  "For $100, you can now make a level 80 toon and for another $100, equip it with level 200 epics!"

i would actually love it if there was some way to fast level once you get a toon to the top...

maybe an in game manuel you could buy (like cold weather flight) and pass to a low level toon to add a few levels.

even if its just to 55-60-70... i HATE leveling.

i wouldnt even care if it was super expensive like 20,000 gold... i would be so worth it!

For existing level 80 players, yes, I can agree to that or maybe someone who has played the game for X years.  Just the idea that anyone, any new player who just subscribed would peeve off.

PS: soloing SM GY at level 32 is not fun.

I would love it if they had like a quest-ish thing (like for cloth donations) in which you can give things from professions for exp.

Like for mining:

Copper bar x20 for 4500 exp (level 7)
Tin bar x20 for 17700 exp (level 17)
Iron bar x20 for 47400 exp (level 30)
Mithril bar x20 for 90700 exp (level 40)
Thorium bar x20 for 147500 exp (level 50)
or something like tat. probably less exp tho, and do that for every prof.
