TIPS FOR DRUIDS.
im a balance druid and i took him out at 42. keep him rooted and blast your spells at him make sure to keep all your dot's going on him and keep rooting him whenever he breaks (i rooted again when it was halfway gone but thats my preference) took him down in less than a minute and didnt even have to heal or use any pots. : ) good luck

I just found him in the southern end of STV.

Soloed it with my lvl 46 pala, took me 7 minutes and 2 healing pots, at lvl 48 i beat him to a pulp in less than 4 minutes no healing pots this time ....
I got 50% dmg redution and still he hits for around 160 normal dmg and around 330 when he crits, got a short aoe that does about the same damage, he has 10500hp. I found him always isolated with no mobs around on the coast.
Uh, yeah you can. I finished this quest on both my mage and priest by doing this. Just turn aruond every once in a while and keep fireblasting/rank1 frostbolt him or dot him to keep aggro. The guards own him. I do it many times just for the hell of it.
its called "kiting". you hit him 1 time run a little bit, hit him again run a little bit
cc him from time to time if you can just dont sheep him (he'll heal himself) just make sure you do 50% damage or more otherwise you probably wont be able to loot him.

He was at 36,70 as of 10-08-06
You find him by running out of the north door of stranglethorn, then turning right to go to the east coast, then turning left up the coast. Judging by the map on here, he wanders the whole coast, but I found him to the north of the beach east of the BB gate.
He doesn't seem to have magic or AOE, just a ton of HP and a ton of damage. I used bestial wrath, rapid fire, and all my mana on him and healed my pet when I wasn't shooting. He killed my pet when he had about 10% life and came after me. I meleed him and killed him with 10 hp left :D
If you watch him for a while before attacking he will fart a bubble and then turn around and smell it. I was cracking up.
A lvl 35 Hunter solod a lvl 65 PvP Guard? I seriously doubt about Gorlash. I have 24 Druid who took on a l30 Yeti for fun. He was evading & resiting most of my stuff & that's only a 6 lvl difference. But a 12L diff? a 30L diff? Give us a link to a movie to buy that one!
sif a 35 hunter could solo a 47 elite lol, he would resist evrythin and even if he didnt, u would hit for about 20s lol

Soloed at 45..got him to 20% when my pet couldnt take it anymore ,kited him the additional 20%He has no long range atacks or stun ..easy kite job

Sorry to spoil the "mine is bigger than yours" contest, just like to record that I CANNOT solo him as a 49 warrior. Definitely easier for classes that can hold him at a distance. Being up close and personal I was taking 180 - 360 per hit from him. Maybe wearing cost-a-lot gear and dosed up with pots I could have done it, but with an ordinary spec I would want a 3 level advantage.
To add to the pissing contest... I soloed him without pots with a 45 druid (mixed feral/resto). No kiting, no gimicks, toe-to-toe fighting and heals.
It was quite close though, and I have excellent gear (inc. Warden Staff).
Now, to add some useful info: I found him at coords (35,71) and I'm pretty sure that's where he hangs out (not all over the place as the map suggests). That location is along the east coast: leave BB by the tunnel, turn right to the coast and run north a bit.
Extra bit of info: if you don't have a coordinate mod installed, you can just make a macro that says the following, and click the macro whenever you need to check coords:

Doable solo as a 43 Lock. I used succu instead of void as it wasnt holding agro worth crap anyway.
Fear/Dot/Drain rinse repeat.. same way you'd kill anything else big alone.

My in game friend and I couldn't kill him by ourselves.. because we were lower lvl 30s troll hunters. So we devised a plan to pet attack with full aggression on and growl turned off. This made him chase us when we shot him, with our pets nipping at his heels, and us drawing aggro. We just kept running and turning around and shooting, then running and shooting making him chase us. We got him to chase us up to booty bay guard, who helped us kill him quickly! If u do this make sure you clear the area of mobs first!
Soloed as level 44 prot paladin, but used LoH. Just drain him (seal+judgement of light), and do not forget to heal.
im a lvl 48 frost mage and ownd him in under a minute and only had to use my mana gem, hes not that hard if u know how to play your class
Well, he's lvl 42 now, so I can't replicate that feat. Remember being in a group of 5 with one lvl 60 with us when we went to take him..
Newest patch 2.3 As of Nov 13 2007... Gorlash is lvl 42 Elite... AND I HATE BLIZZ! He sucked >.>; I was so ticked off that he wasn't lvl 47, I blew all my mana on killing him fast. Anywho. Simple as pie.

40 frost mage, pretty easy, a few bolts here and there along with some crits and he's down
He is level 42 elite, I just found him NE of BB along the shoreline. Beat him very easily with a 44 lock using DOTs then fear. He will wear down a voidwalker very quickly so be sure to fear and heal pet then repeat process.
This is a tough one. I tried to solo with a lvl 46 hunter with a raptor pet and lost.
Killed him at lvl 41, as a frost Mage he wasn't THAT hard. Make sure you have a mana jade ready. Found em at 36,70
Easy solo as 40 shadowpriest, he runs slow enough for you to kite him with Shadow word pain, just keep it up at all time, if you get low on mana, for him not to evade use Vampiric embrace when u get oom, turn around, shoot with wand once and keep running..
took me 2 min to kill him, 674 Exp as 40. nothing big, just fun to do =) Advice is to kite him one way first, fear and kite the other way, just to make sure you dont pull adds.
just solo'd as 46 rogue he only got me to 50%

solo'd as a 40 feral druid. To start, just spam starfire and moonfire (when the dot expires), keeping a safe distance by rooting when necessary. when OOM, use a mana pot, then use innervate and continue rooting/starfire/moonfire. When approaching OOM the 2nd time, go to bear form and tank him a bit. when you get to 1/2 hp, activate nature's grasp and when the root procs get out, pop a HT and rejuv, and get back into bear form. You might have to do this a 2nd time when NG's 45s CD refreshes, but after that he should be under 10% and your pot CD should have refreshed as well. Hope this helps!
Soloed him with lvl 42 lock. Took no damage, used no pots. He was easy, went down in about 4 minutes using dot/fear combos.
He is nowadays a lev 42 elite, and soloed him with lev 41 paladin. Not hard, just use hp potions and hope for crits :D
Soloed by a 45 Frost mage, in 2 mins.
Icy Veins, some frostbolts, frost nova and then Evocation, couple more frostbolts and fire blast = Dead Gorlash
He's not a 47 Elite. I just solo'd him as a 41 Ret Pally.

Very hard, used all the works to get him down but managed it.
Solo'd at lvl 44 with hunter, I had to mend pet a few times during battle but pretty much just kept him on fire and poisoned while nailing him with stun and arcane...had so much fun I camped and killed him about six more times lol..he kept showing up in the same place about every five to seven minutes just off the shore in the water.
If you're a warlock, use curse of exhaustion. If you can't figure out the rest, you don't deserve to solo him.
he is level 42 with 6593 health offers 540 exp and i soloed him at lvl 45 as a frost mage
solo as level 45 warrior..easy with 1 health pot.
Gorlash is no longer lv47 elite but a Lv42 elite. Search for the east shores of STV as now he mainly spawns where he should spawn.
47 Rogue, killed him in about 1 minute, Combat build, no pots.
Is he able to kite all the way to BB with a mage (fire specc)?
If you check out my screenshot, i as a hunter, kited him to Stormwind :P
Solo'd as a 40 Be frost mage... just kited him all over the beach... took 3 tries, but only needed one mana gem... pretty fun :P
Soloed with a 42 Shadowpriest. Used 1 pot. He has low resist, so go get him casters.
soloed this boy as 41 frost mage, didn't used even potions
but one time few sec evocation. it took about 2 min to take him down
easy for 44 mage 0 pots and gems
way easy to solo as a lvl45 'lock just DOT fear rinse and repeat. didnt even use my pet
Got him down to 17% as a 40 prot paladin.
He's pretty easy to solo, just when you get low on mana you can't use seal of light or holy light anymore, basically getting you killed.
Edit: Downed him with LoH, simple :D
I saw him at Janiero's Point I think it's called, which is just north west of Booty Bay, if you take a Gryphon out of Booty Bay, you'll see the name pop up on the screen. It's the island with the huge statue of a goblin with his arms outstretched. I saw Gorlash standing on the opposite side of that tiny island as I was flying out, so check there if you can't find him.
