These guys are a great moneymaker for skinners/leatherworkers, as Devilsaur equipment goes for 50-75g depending on your server. I solo'd one as a 58 Druid. The trick? Hibernate, Starfire, repeat. Maybe some Bear form in there for fun. You will likely run out of mana while doing this, so innervate is extrememly useful. Happy Hunting!

Thank you SO much for that map! Myself (54) and a rogue friend (53) went to Un'Goro to put together the leather for 2 pairs of Devilsaur Gauntlets. Thanks to the map we could clear from one side right through to the next, run back to the start and do it all over again. Didn't take very long at all to get our 16 total, and the Devilsaurs were pretty easy kills.

Lol, they make look damn intimidating, like that Jurassic park thing where he hunkers down on that guy on the john and whips him around like a rag doll, but they're pushovers....who make a big thump when they tip over. :D I farm these quite well as a 55 Hunter, sitting at 20 Leather right now, I'm DS LW but I just wanna do this for the money (50g/pair of gloves, gonna make 3 pairs) Just to be warned....these aren't kitable, and if u have trouble with a normal devilsaur or even an ironhide...get THE HELL away from a Tyrant, I can take all types, but Tyrants are the most stressful battles. Fearing my pet away and lumbering after me is not very entertaining, although seeing him drop and seeing the succulent skin peeled off him is. Take ur time and learn how to fight em, locks and hunts...no problem with these big-shots, to all the rest of yall, try strats, once u get a strat thats a 90% success rate, gl farming :D just make sure to fight any devilsaur in a nice open area with no oozes, diemetradons, pterrordax, ravasaurs or silithids lol, the little Bloodpetals will leave you alone as long as u don't AoE (or multishot, doh) They're intimidating but not to be feared, try one, u'll be surprised at how far you get or even how easily u take one down. Even if ur not a skinner, having the satisfaction to be able to take one down is proof enough that u know how to play ur char at lvl 55 and take a same or above lvl elite down.

I am a 60 rogue all green armor still, Krol Blade And Hanzo Sword. Dont waste your time running around for these things, pick a spot with no adds and wait for them is much easier. For fighting i used cheap shot til 5 points , kidney shot , evasion, SS til 5 points, Eviscerate as finisher. That seems to be best style for these guys they usually never even get a shot on me. I've been killing these things since i was a lvl 52 druid and it's quite simple, stealth behind him in cat form, do as much damage as you can till your health is in between 1,500 and 1K, then come out of cat form and hibinate them, heal yourself and repeat if you have entangle roots it's a lot easier, and rejuvenation and regrowth is very useful aswell because it will continue to heal in cat form.
also I've noticed that killing the ironhide devilsaur takes longer because they resist or have a shorter period of time with hibinate and entangle roots, plus i think they have more armor and health then the others. Solo'ed the level 54 Devilsaur as a level 51 BM specced hunter.
Just keep mend pet on your pet at all times, when your pet's health gets low run up and use scare beast on devilsaur. heal your pet and wait out the full 20 seconds. after another 10 seconds of fighting, if your pet gets low on hp again, just use scare beast. very easy. :) (as a hunter)
I pretty much agree with flyinghellfish, easy to solo with a balance druid. Starfire, roots, force of nature, moonfire, insect swarm. Keep it rooted and keep the DoT up. That way it's almost too easy. Also quite easy for warlocks to solo, just fear and as much DoT as possible...

Can solo 54's and 55's Just frostboltx3 frost nova frostbolt x2 cold snap frost nova frostbolt x2 and keep water elemental up and stuff, use freeze and stuff...just kite really...and its easy as long as no adds. Especially with shatter.
I started solo'ing these guys at lvl 54 (I'm a feral druid) and went on and off solo'ing them till lvl 56 or so. The only ones that proved to be trouble were the tyrant devilsaurs due to their fear mechanic (which they always used RIGHT when i'm healing...jerks)...
I would go bear, charge, enrage, bash, and mangle him until I'm at about 3000 health or so and I use Frenzied Regeneration (I don't use too many skills b/c I like to have plenty of rage for this skill, 70-80 or so)...once he gets me back down to 2500-3000 health or so (maybe a little less if you are daring) I pop out, barkskin, healing touch, and then go back into bear for the kill. With mangle, it's pretty easy, imo. I'm 59 now, and still don't wanna go near the jerkbag tyrant devilsaurs alone. Easy! by qwerty101.1, Score 0.00

and for the third time since no one else posts it, these are NOT tameable. which is sad. but if you are planning on hunting them down in hopes for a nice drop, please bring a skinner with you, we really need more skins on the AH in any realm.

I was fishing in the upper left area of Un'Goro, where the river ends in a 'duck head' of pond with a little island in the center. I kept an eye on Track Beasts in case the Pterrordax I killed respawned...and here comes a red dot! Fast! Turn around, see it, scream and flail for a bit before feigning death.
Then I had to watch as it flattened my poor little raptor. :( So Devilsaur goes just past the pond, turns around, heads back south. Once he's gone I rez my pet, feed him and make comforting noises, and return to fishing. Before my lure has run out he's BACK! Feign again, watch pet die again. Find another fishing hole. In conclusion; if you're waiting for a Devilsaur, consider waiting just above the duck head in the north west.
Just soloed one of these with my 55 warrior. Kang the Decapitator , retaliation and a little sip of potion at the end just in case. Easy kill actually - but what a lousy drop *OMG*. Must kill some more i guess... ha ha ha
