With the new patch, the tabard is a green item, so no more noobs can ninja them =P well they still might, theres just no stopping some people
U get the tabard after u kill the boss in the armoury, with all the trainee ppl. It's a nice little item, deff. worthy goin through it a few times to get one!
got it on my 2nd run, as a warlock 70 wasnt bad, since I was running it in like 3 min lol
Well, after TBC came out, i lvled up my shaman, first run through armoury at lvl 29 and these drop - i've seen the tabard drop 3 times once on my hunter which i won. Once on my warlock which i lost and on my Shaman which i got. ! Looks very nice - but it seems ALOT more people are wearing them these days.
i'm pretty sure its more then a 0.5% drop.
Well the drop is more than 0.5% but you find that most groups wont loot all the corpses, so the deaths that thott calculates do not all get looted... if you get what i mean :D... I want one for my 39 twink :p
I just got it from one of the monks who come in after you kill Herod. I got it for my 36 paladin.

It takes about 4-5 times to get the tabard but its enique so you can only loot it once unless you sell it or destroy it.
how many run will it take to get it in SM ????
i think they uped the drop rate a little ran it about 5 times had it drop 2 times =)

Any good 29 twink wears this instead of a purple guild tabard.

Ran Armory for the first time today, and after we kill all of the trainees we find 2 tabards. Everybody needs, and of course I win both. stupid unique item.
Easily solo'd as a 66 druid of course, just stealth through the entire instance and kill Herold. Shouldn't take more than 5 minutes. Shift out, wait for the trainees to come down, throw barkskin on and then use hurricane.
Got it on my third run, along with 3 stacks of silk cloth and about 20 red rocket firework things. It's a nice tabard, wish the flame was on the back, too though.
If you examine someone in armory for ex Boseiju who is a 70 BE paladin on Zul Jin, you will see that according to the WoW Armory that the drop rate is considered (extremely low) 1%-2%.
this drop seems to be taking forever. I have taken out herod with my 70 BE hunter about 10 times and i have never seen this drop off the trainees that rush in afterwards. i am going to keep trying but its making me want to give up. About 20 trainees rush the room, and i have done this ten times so i have killed at least 200 of them and it has not dropped yet...
very low drop rate... maybe the new update has something to do with it.
As a lvl 48 rogue, I stealthed to herod, Killed him, then in came the trainees. The second one i looted dropped the tabard. Guess i was lucky.
Been farming the Armory many times for Fiery Enchant mats (the drop from herod becomes one of the 4 shards you need). This tabard only dropped once for me.
I am so happy. I was doing a SM Armory run with a level 70. Guess what? I got it. I was so happy because I really wanted one. I got it on my first run! LOL! Now all I want is the Deadman Ring from Archmage Doan in SM Library!
its like wow! these are maybe sum of the best to farm, because of i ran through 5 times, and in that time, scarlet tabard dropped 3 times, trollbane leggings 1 and cobalt crusher 1. also much green stuff
These guys also have a decent chance to drop the Troll's Bane Leggings...as far as world drop rate goes. im wondering if i could sneak through with a 50 pally just so i can kill the boss. seems kinda iffy.
3rd run i got i was thinking maybe it only drops if your running someone but nope so im happy and o yeah the ppl that dropped dropped some nice greens for the GV...Guid Vault for how ever doesnt know this

Runned the SM 11 times with my pally and other both lvl 70 for get the tabard for RP and NOTHING! Damned insane low drop
Ran Scarlet Monastery for my second time on Lethon realm, tabard dropped and I was the only one around to pick it up. The others had already run towards the instance entrance and I won it with a greed roll.

I was farming this awhile back and 3 droped in one run and I though oh some weird tabard...little did I now how low the drop on them its.
In total i've ran this place at least 50 times, recently about 20+ times on my 70 mage running a friend.... no matter how much i run it i've never seen it drop. Ran it quite a bit while levelling alliance mage and even more on horde pally and mage both 70's giving people many runs.... maybe i'm just incredibly unlucky but im tired of it not dropping hehe. not even good looking either. Blood knight tabard is much better too bad its BE pallies only.

OMG i looked at the drop rate, and i must be lucky!!! i've ran this instance at least 300 times, and every time i run the armory, it drops for me. Or at least when ever i run it with my belf pally!!! Wow, now if only a high priced thing like shadowfang would drop like that for me in SFK. =/
This is the 28rd time im clearing the SM , Armory , and killing herod and all the trainee's but still no tabard??, What shall i do :S
I,ve Ran SM armory about 10 times on my 70 Hunter looking for the troll's Bane Leggings. Has anyone had these drop from the trainees?
I am still able to loot them, i'm 3 runs deep and no tabard yet, i'm hoping it still drops.
They do still drop, got one finally on my 9th run.
On a more important note, for you mages any of these mobs can kill themselves on your molten armor with 1 attack, THEY WILL NOT DROP loot if this happens. Just a forewarning.

Ok, i'd have to put in here that after 8 runs i havent seen it drop. I finally figured out that SM armory at the end was the only place to find these droppers, and after the 8 runs i've gotten no tabard drop at all. I did get Watchman Pauldrons when i was still ignorant of where to find these people, so i guess that's a plus!
IMPORTANT!
Turn off any kind of thorns on yourself, as the mobs will die after one hit and you will get no loot (you must deal damage yourself)

Just did my 7th run as a lvl 72 Death Knight. Still haven't gotten the tabard to drop once. So I've killed 140 of these guys and still no show. Grrr...

Two just dropped for me, solo'ed with a 58 DK.
Just finished my 50th run still no drop, this is the last tabard i need for achiever, am now locked out for an hour again, /cry

That's it - Herod heard I was coming to collect the Tabard - but didn't actually think I was serious until he saw me wipe out 30 of his men at once in about 5 seconds (Volley).
I told Herod I'd be back - and he better have it ready next time...
Herod - seeing his utter defeat in my eyes - he told the Trainees this would a routine training fight and to wear their Tabards. Little did they know - he was only leading them to their deaths... Bastard to the end... (He thought I would spare his life in exchange for the Tabard - so wrong was he...)
