I have a slavering worg for PvP, mostly because I didn't want to be just another hunter with The Rake in 10-19 WSG. He does pretty well, and I have only had to revive him once.
If you are looking for an alternative for The Rake at low levels these guys are great. they have a 1.2 attack speed and you can tame one at level 18.
I sort of perfer him to the rake at lvl 19 because where the rake gets claw and bite, the Worg gets furious howl. Pet damage is minimal at low level WSG and the abilities are what can truly be useful. That and caster interruption.
