I tested for patch 1.10 and it is a mini game that you can play when the fair comes, its free and its just a thing to do if your bored lol. You can also look at the blizz site for more info on this.
lol its a game at goldshire im not sure about other relms but its a mini game but im not sure y just turret and flamethrower there is waymore like mines and shield but im not really sure y tonk maybe thats just what the faire calls it

It's from the new game at the Darkmoon Faire... 'Tonks'. You step up to a terminal and use it, suddenly you're seeing from the viewpoint of a little tank; its abilities basically show up as a pet bar.
They're probably treating your tank as a pet and using the 'Eyes of the Beast' mechanic to let you control it, so it's natural for Thottbot to pick them up as pets.

This is an item that you get in darkmoon faire. Their only use is to blow other tonks up but it is highly addictive. You can only use it for 5 minutes and you can get it by right clicking on a tonk controle console. The consoles are scattered around the fair. Does this help?
no one hacked thottbot its a mini game as said before. Its a very fun little toy once you get the hang of it. You right click on the consol [as long as no one else is using it] and you start fighting!
in warcraft 3 all things that the icons failed on came up as that guy
It is a partially fun game, except for the Tonk Twinks that just sit there all day, and friggin own EVERYONE without ever dying. BUt i'd play again.

every1 can use it cuz its a litle pole standing at darkmoon faire, if u klick it u get 2 c a cart that does damage to other carts, some have shield some land mines some machine guns and some have flametrowers, its a minigame but its no fun with 1-3 players, u need to be 4 or more players to hjave good battle

I had this happen to me, I think it's a bug having to do with having a follow pet deployed when you click the console. I had a Worg Pup out, and got stuck. I had no Tonk icon on my bar. I saw a Tauren with Mr. Wiggles appear to have the same problem, but I couldn't talk to him, as I am alliance. If I can find an available console, I'm going to try again without Worg Pup and see if I still get stuck. I've submitted a ticket.
BTW, I was only stuck for about 5 minutes, which I understand to be the timer on the Tonk anyway.

What a turrent it cant be real?
All tonks have 3 abilities that are to fire (3 sec cooldown) a bomb AoE that does a lot more dmg, but can only be used at a distance, a dash to move 60% faster, but it sucks up mana, and there are 3 specials that you randomly have. The MG turrent is a machine gun thing that does continuous dmg of like 3, the flame thrower, which deals a lot of dmg, but at a close range, a shield that protects, but takes mana when you get hit, it can take 50 dmg, and there is mines, which take like maybe 40 dmg. All tonks have 100 health

darmoon faire only, spelled incorrectly, cant take it outside of the faire, its at both factions faires, they have other abilities such as sheild landmine and other fun stuff, its not a combat pet except to other tonks, cant be bought, doesnt cost anything, and has about 5 minutes before losing power and u wake up dazed. ok, im done
this is a thing you can drive when its faire festval its some boxes you must click on and then you can drive thoose for 1min or so and shoot down other that also drive thoes "things"... =D
Now, these are usable everywhere. They sell the schematic for a controller for 40 tickets, so you can use tonks everywhere now. Ask the local engineer if you can buy a controller from them.
Guilds use the tonk for wars, it's pretty fun.

yeah i speak as an engineer myself does anyoe on laughing skull have one i can buy or can make me one if bring mats, that or have any idea where i could find my own set of blueprints from a vendor?

There's a quest at the refugee camp near Auchidon with a reward of a 'tonk' (10 charges) i used all mine against some alliance guy's tonk, just so you know it's in OUTLANDS, so go home mister lvl 57!
tonks look like dwarfen steam tanks, like the ones they have outside ironforge, but really small. to use one you have to go to a control console usually by the fencing of the faire which for alliance is in Goldshire , or for horde is in Mulgore by thunderbluff, and frankly its pretty pimped,
how to use a tonk.
1) put your pet away locks n hunters
2) all mini pets away :3
3) all classes and races can use ( horde can use at ally faire and ally at horde )
4) cleik teh steem tawnk centrullr
5) blow the hell out of other peoples tonks xD

When i tried to us a Tonk a pile of stuff parts apeared at my feet, it quickly disapeared and my mouse didn't turn into a gear when i went over it. I was stuck until i loggedout
There's also a tonk mini-pet that engineers can make with a schematic that I believe is obtained through the Darkmoon Faire. You can summon it and fight just like the stationary tonk controllers at the Faire, but the mini-pet only has 60 uses.
There is also a quest in winterspring i think that rewards you with a tonk... not really sure on the location... but i have one as a quest reward
