I thought this was true until I tried to cook a batch of Longjaw Mudsnappers on a Basic Campfire that I made and was unsuccessful. I checked and the missing element was "Cooking Fire." Is this a bug in the game?
You need to buy flint and tinder and fire wood to be able to make your own fire - which lasts for approx 1 minute. See cook trainers in the major cities to be able to learn.
You can cook in any stove or any open fire in the game, including the braziers in IF and the bonfires in org. If it flames, you can cook on it. Just get close and start cooking :)
That is not completely true. If you put a curser over something and it doesn't say it is a cook fire you cannot cook on it. I've found several places where it looked like an open brazier or a campfire and could not cook over it. I find it extremely frustrating running around Stormwind and Darnasis and several other areas looking for fires. (Those silly elves really do have a phobia of fire.) So I keep a stack of wood and the flint and tinder on me now. It may not be the best space use but it keeps me from pulling my hair out and running mad and naked through an unfarmiliar town.
sult, y r u so mean to us elves, mab we not friendly with fire, but in westfall, stv, and lots of other places theres campfires, on ANY campfire u can cook, easy and takes no flint and tinder
Along with campfires, there are other items in the game you can use, like stoves and fireplaces. When in doubt, go to the cooking trainer and there should be something there to cook on, including the cooking trainer in Darnassuss.
ok i been looking for FLINT, where do they sell this, I went and lvl;d y fishing to 375 and now want to do the same for cooking, but am stuck at 50 right now as i need a fire, and I would like to get the materials to make one, i know the wood part, thats easy, but wherever i go, no one sells flint????
