Finally, an alternative for hunters to Thunderfury. ;) Always had trouble with inferior offhands. Now I can wingclip in style!

People say this weapon is sort of obsolete because of Dark Edge of Insanity's near equal damage and stats, but clearly the Proc is better than you would expect, if Dark Edge was truly better, it would be nerfed (as Arcanite Reaper was), or this weapon would be buffed, the simplest buff would just be to up the proc rate. Yes, this weapon will be far greater than your epics, one way or another.
As for Hunters, yes, it is. Take a good look at the stats OK? Now, in standard hunter PVP when someone gets close it's Raptor Strike --> Wing clip, the raptor strike, especially if it criticals, will do massive damage, even to plate, and if a proc happen, or a proc CRITICAL, the person will be dead on arrival. Your Raptor Strike to Wing clip will induce massive damage, and will allow him to dominate in melee if necessary. There's a reason these weapons are allowed to be used by hunters you know!
There is no reson this would be nerfed, the only reson this is legendary or the only reson anything in the game is legendary is becouse it has something to do within the storyline of the game, or within the books, not only becouse its more powerful...and come on a hunter!, no no dps warrior with Imp Slam :P

There's a chance that the proc is extremely high, to the point where thunderfurys was.
It says that it blasts "a" target for fire damage, does that mean that it is possible to have more than one target? Everything else says either the enemy or the target.
Seems a bit fake atm.
You accomplish nothing by arguing "Paladin vs. Warrior". Either class can benefit in their own ways when using this. This only questionable validity is a hunter's claim to it. But in the end it's all up the the guild to decide who is allowed to roll.
Besides, if it's originally an epic, it could originally be decent for hunters at well, but changes into this beast of a sword once a long quest is completed.

So far I don't think its is released but it exists on hacked servers. I have seen it before on a google video (http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-6833366901782822909&q=bye+wow). In this case it shows it as a lock weapon, but it doesn't matter. It is a nice weapon but again it relys on a "chance" for its major dps. Hope there is coing to be weapons as cool as this in the expansion. I'm a 60 hunt on Draenor, and would like this weapon...if it had stats and a 15agi. inchant wouldn't do it. Hunters are specified for ranged dmg thats why staffs are good for hunts(comenly have good stats). If anyone has a clue how to get this plz post info, Thx.
Probanly that Mograine the Ashbringer corrupts the wielder and travel around the world to nerf pallies :/

The currupted ashbringer drops in the new 1.11 instance. ONCE you have that you must go through a series of quest to obtain the cleansed one which is this ... I just got this on a test server.... never seen the proc still >.<

If any of you are hunters and honestly think that any guild while let you get this, then you were dropped on your head as a baby, several hundred times. The dps is the highest in the game, I'm sorry but the main tanks will probally want it more.
If you dont know anything on how you get this dont post plz.
1) Its FIRST a Currupted Ashbringer ... with 2% crit 1% hit and a 150-215 or so lifesteal chance on hit. That is not too bad for a hunter IMO. It also has a -25 stm wich is why its BAD on a Warrior cuz your always in melee
2) Yeah I would roll on a Currupted Ashbringer too if I was a hunter... why, well because it has decent stats and a -25 stamina that pallys/warrior prabably dont want but hey who cares if your lossing 250 hp.

5) Warriors, Palys, and Hunters should win Currupted Ashbringer with DKP ..... depending on the guild. Warriors are tanks, Pallys heal and hunters are ranged really no one benifits from this exept in PVP. Same with most 2 handed weapons. And lets not forget -25 stamina is kinda crapy for pvp if your a warrior.
All in all let your guild decide on who gets it thru dkp or just " HUNTERS DONT NEED THAT THEY NINJA EVERYONE /cry /cry"

Oh, and for the record this thing is a Pally weapon- and I'll tell you why. Seal of the Crusader is a spell that reduces attack speed by 40%-- So now the weapon speed is 1.80 (reduced by 1.20) and is as fast as a fast 1h sword or a slow dagger. With the proc rate bein high, this thing is the sword to have for a PALADIN not a Hunter because no agi (I agree when you have to melee, but this is far better off in the hands of a Pally or even warrior).
MUST KNOW WHERE TO FIND/OBTAIN/GET QUEST FOR THIS ITEM!!!!

I need to know how to get it. Do you get the Corrupted one first, and then cleanse it and it becomes the legendary one? Or do you do a series of quests? Do you gather mats to craft it?

Listen, we are lead to believe that Blizzard has yet to implement the quest to cleanse Ashbringer.
The Cursed Ashbringer is only stronger at the moment because it's the only 'real' Ashbringer in the game right now. The actual Ashbringer, the cleansed one, can only be found on certain GMs, but it's not the Legendary weapon we, as players, will get. It will be much stronger than the Cursed Ashbringer.
As I said before, Blizzard hasn't put the quest in yet, just little hints to the Ashbringer's existence. Some people, thanks to what happened on a Korean server, believe that the quest to 'fix' the sword is actually in Outlands so we might have to wait for the expansion to get this awesome sword.
Finally, a legendary weapon geared for the Paladin.
A Quest to make a NEW Ashbringer will be implemented in Burning Crusade.
You filthy Hunters! Keep your goddamned hands off the uber two handers! Look, do you see any stats that improve your ranged attacks? NO! I can see how this would be helpful to deal more damage if you have to make those melee hits, but that isn't as often as you should be range! You would deal MORE damage using something that makes you hit for more at range, because, guess what, like it or not, YOU ARE A RANGED DAMAGE DEALER! Where as a Warrior or a Paladin is ALWAYS doing their damage at melee. I, a Warrior, would love this weapon, but I can admit that it is ideal for the Paladin folk (correct me if I'm wrong, but Mograine was, after all, a Paladin). Finally, claiming rolling rights on this in general is stupid, because the popular and likely scenario is that you will be getting the Corrupted Ashbringer first, which isn't particularly set up for Paladins. This gives rolling rights well into the hands of the Warriors and Paladins (Paladins for the express purpose of planning to cleanse it). Again, no Hunter stats in sight. So lay off it already! Start your game, and go SHOOT something down...
If you are a holy built pally you should dig this wepon all the way ... with your inprovement to holy damage to the target and such.... you see im a hunter and i would have no desire for this weapon.... it helps hunters ... yea right .... why would we need a holy damage weapon????.... we dont get 2 dawns edges or bone slicing hatchets.... why the heck do you need a 2 handed holy pally weapon ... oh its orange big deal a blue item would be better for a hunter.... so give it to the people who need it... be smart

Since it does holly damage if you were buffed with Righteous Fury from a pally (Increases the threat generated by your Holy attacks by 60%). It would hold argo so nice.

The way to get ashbringer is to go 2 Naxxramas and kill Highlord Mograine then get Corrupted Ashbringer once u equipt it u are hostile to the argent dawn and friendly to the Scarlet Crusade. now u go 2 Scarlet Monastery and talk to mograines son and he gives u a quest to go 2 outland. So it will not be obtainable until Burning Crusade.
okay the fact is that ashbringer is a pally wep or warrior wep but mainly pally because of +30-50 holy damage and blessing of the crusader just makes it insane. However, it can still be a warrior weapon because of the dps, and of all the classe that can weild it but don't deserve it are hunters
this is a pally weapon all the way even if the corrupted one gives-25 stam big WOOP thats about 250 hp of 4 k but the dps is the same and it gives to holy damage and the only class i know that can do holy dmg and wield 2 handers are pallys it is ridiculus to allow a hunter to get this when their ar epallys and warriors and not all wariors are taanks some are actualy speced for dps even in high lvl instances but if theres a pally that needs the weapon then they should be able to roll if no pallys want it then the tanks if there should be no tanks or pallys that want it (which i highly doubt) THEN AND ONLY THEN can a hunter roll on this nice sword

This is a weapon for the Mac trucks on WoW. Which are Warriors. Yes, since this weapon has a background with the Crusade, its gunna be holy. So Paladins should roll as well.
This argument goes with every epic, legendary weapon....just because it has +AP, crit%, and chance to hit %, doesnt make it hunter/rogue weapon. Get that stupid idea out of your heads plz. Thunderfury isnt a hunter/rogue weapon, the stats clearly show its a crowd control weapon ment for tanks. Ash is a holy weapon from the crusade which is entended for holy warriors (aka paladins.....but warriors can be holy too :) ))
im a warrior an di want this... i would never use the corrupted one tho, -25 sta and hated ny AD, but i would just keep it till i got this. and for the record ashbringer ashbringer is from a QUEST so u wont roll. h/e u need the corruted 1 to get the other and that IS a drop. anyway i wan tthis really bad but it should go to pallies first... ret pallies anyway, i swear if it goes to a holy or def i just might...

Honestly guys, if we are going to get through end game share the wealth and pass around the goods. Everyone needs to be equiped. SO QUIT TRYING TO DISS THE HUNTERS ^^ they saved me many times.
I think people also forget that hunters need a bow more than melee weapon. Their ability to kite needs nerfing, shut up about hunters getting no melee weapons, if they have a bow and a pet their g2g.
