Just wondering if First Aid is even needed if you're a priest?

I can see saving some mana sometimes by using a bandage in pvp or wherever but I can see living without it.

Any priests out there with an opinion on this?

Priest run out of mana and a couple of bandages on the tank/mage can win the battle

I use bandages to heal other party members when I'm out of mana. I don't use them much but due to many lazy people I turn my cloth drops into bandages and sell them to people. Seriously.

That's like saying you don't like using water to wash yourself in because most people use water to drink.

So it has multiple purposes. So what? That makes neither First Aid nor Tailoring useless.

It's a free profession, available to all. Useful to all. As previously stated, if a priest goes OOM then a few well-placed bandages can save the day. Those netherweave bandages pack one hell of a punch. End of story

Um, not every priest is a tailor. My priest is an engineer (bombs help save mana and save my butt) and that profession uses some cloth, but there is plenty left over for first aid. A lot of other priests are probably jewelcrafters, alchemists, or double gatherers. Of course priests can heal themselves, but bandages are good to have just in case.

Since I specced shadow I cannot use holy spells (all heals) when in shadow.  I am revving up First Aid so I have a means of healing myself while in Shadow Form.  Saves mana lost switching back and forth and time, helpful when grinding.

very necassary for shadow priests, imo. costs too much mana to come out of shadow, heal then go back in.

first aid might be useful for priests coz if u r low on mana and have no potions for mana to heal then u can use the first aid items so ye I guess u could use first aid for a priest

If I might digress, I have a level 48 Tauren Druid, Feral specced and geared, with a Artisan First Aid skill of 240, who knows how to make Heavy Mageweave Bandages, and... I have not used a SINGLE bandage on myself or another player, even in instances and parties. Ever.

But this is different for priests, because they depend on their mana to attack and heal, while Feral druids use energy and rage to attack and mana to heal and shapeshift. So priests get a much larger mana drain; especially if they heal in combat instead of using bandages/PW:S.

Yup, priests may be the healing pros, but they don't have unlimited mana as opposed to druids who only use mana for healing.

you might have been playing as a druid for a long time but to the druids who are new to the class, they churn mana in easily 1 battle, investing in first aid is still a definate yes!

Even if you use it once a week, at lvl 70 and it saves u, thats probably 10g ur gonna save in repairs :)

Im a lvl 40 full holy speccec priet and imo first aid is a must, in a group you quite often use most of your mana healing everyone and incase of adds or unforseen events its a nice boost as mana pots take a bit of time. Also while soloing it helps with down time for a quick replenish.

I have always used bandages with my Holy Paladin. Very useful when i don't wanna waste the mana. Now that I respecced to prot it's even better for me. Use it on all my characters, great skill no matter what class. Very easy to level too.

chances are your gonna end up with heaps of cloth neways, so u may as well since they come in handy and converting a stack of cloth to bandages sells more at the vendor as well as compressing 2 stacks of cloth to one stack of bandages
