Seriously, Herod is really easy. Everyone talks about him being so tough and here is why. If you stand there while he spins around and take all of his blows, then yes, you will take a lot of damage.

Be smart, when he starts spinning, just back away from him, let him spin his heart out, and then resume fighting him when he stops. Pretty simple. He is a pushover if you realize that you shouldnt stand there while he whirls around whacking you over and over again.
