    Nonsense nonsence nonsense...
I'm reading all these forums about how armorsmiths can make great stuf later on...yer well that may be so...but...lemme give  yah the life of an armorsmith..

grind grind grind..make armorsmith quest items...spend more time grinding whilsy your mates are pugging the instances......sell some stuff ....once your pals are level 55...noone wants your hand crafted imperial junk....theu are all getting the blues that drop that have much better stats..

get to 300 and honored with thorium...relise that to move onward you need over 6600 dark ore..or lava cores etc...MC content...so you join a bigger guild and start doing MC so you can get your stuff to make those GREAT plans that you have had for several months that you havent been able to make..

tsk tsk ..how sad you find you become the guild armorsmith..all the cores etc..are collected just for you , how nice ...so you can churn out FR gear for all the guild..so yes its another several months before you have a chance to mebbe get a few cores for yourself...of course you say to yourself..i will just pug MC..wher its free rolls..lol as they happen 24/7 and pugs are really great lol...only to find that a green lvl 60 mage just outrolled you on a core...so yes ..become an armorsmith...by all means ...but remember its a guild commitment ...they will progress you so you canchurn out FR gear for the guild..and no you will not be making any quick kills on the AH with your Dark iron boots etc...

1.this is not a money making proffesion..this is a guild proffesion where the guild will progress you up to better equip the guild..
2.the later plans are great but the mats are all based in MC or AQ...so the guild will come first
3.noone uses  armorsmith gear in general ..only in instances where its needed for resistances...
4the world of wow are all playing for nice purple drops that are much better in stats..for daily gaming.

so if you want lots of that lurvely wow gold then choose tayloring and sell chromatic cloaks or some other where you can farm the mats yourself easily and sell high opn ah..co armorsmithing aint it...:)

that said ..im still an armorsmith cos i am lazy and keep hoping blizz will do something nice for us armorsmiths ,like letting us repair our own armor..i mean forgodsake im abloody armorsmith and i have to visit some stupid vendor to get repaired ...ho hum

so please no more nonsense about how good things wil be when you hit 300 armorsmithin..when you are only 150...

    .....................exits stage left....

Cant disagree with a thing. however I would add that blacksmiths in general should be allowed to repair armour, AND NOT JUST OUR OWN at any lvl.

My beef with blacksmithing is the same one I have with all WoW professions.  If you don’t raid, you can’t take them to the top.

Most people don’t raid but Blizz insists on putting plans and mats where most of us will never see them.  Raiders already can get to all of the content AND collect all of the gear.  They don’t need to monopolize professions too.

YES THIS IS A GUILD PROFFESSION - YOU DO IT TO HELP YOUR GUILD - Which in the long run will help you too and even if a few run off with your stuff - I still prefer to play the game in that spirit and mining will still make you a load of cash if u need it, so I guess it depends on what kind of a person you are - self centered or generous...

my gripe s the fact that weponsmiths can choose what they want to create ie mace, sword, one hand, two hand. What the hell if you are an armorsmith you only get to choose mail or plate.  Let me think im a warrior so obviously im gonna choose PLATE. and they are mainly for arms/fury warriors. Im a prot warrior and would like to make some gear that gives me beneficial stats like def rating for example. I mean comon i have the nhers needed and i have the vortex needed but i really dont want to waste em for nothing.  Blizz hook up blascksmiths some how. We really have nothing we can craft to really make money  or at least nothing anyone would really buy.

In another game I used to play (not going to say who) The only way to get your armour repaired was to get a smith (a real player) to repair.  Higher lvl smiths could repair higher lvl equipment.  If they did away with all the bot repairs then the game would have more interaction as players would seek out the smiths with the skill to repair their armour.  Scared of being scammed? Just make the do not trade window have more slots or when you inspect you can repair without removing the armour from the person as the mobs do at the moment. Let smiths get training by doing the repairs at their level. A person needing repair would either pay for the service or give the smith the ore needed to make that repair or both.
Let smiths do what they are good at.

Blacksmithing ,,, hmmmmmmmm it is slow and it realy dont make much money. i would realy like to see more plans people would like to have and that gold can be made from. I agree with all fellow WoW gamers on the lack of benifical BS plans, in use and in profit making. Blizz plzzzzzzzzzz help a Blasksmith out and at least allow us to make some Gs on fixing other players gear. And alowing us to make gear that people can realy want , need and use.But as for me as A BS,armorsmith is where ill stay as.

Thats one thing I have never understood. Why not let the BS repair other players gear.

Also, the stuff you make in the high end BS is not better than what you can pick up in instances therefore making the profession less profitable than other profession in my oppinion.

Also with the addition of the arena season 1 being able to be obtained through battlegrounds there is no point of making and good dps armor that will be replaced with arena armor i would also like to see some of the amorsmith stuff become boe to make more money

i have realized smithing is slow.  So i created an alt.
Alt is an enchanter, and has mining as second profession.  Chanter helps farm ore for blacksmith.

All the blacksmith does is create items for the enchanter to breakdown.  Thus, the blacksmith gains xp, and the enchanter does not have to go broke buying mats.

Enchanting is a high paying profession if you dont have to buy mats.

I can mail unused weapons from bs to chanter, chant them, and then send back for use.  Any drops not used get sent to chanter for breakdown.  I was able to move my chanter from 0 to 75 in one hour.

Yeah but eventually you dont get levels for disenchanting anymore. You have to actually enchant things.
