Started to grind this faction from the start.. by lvl 61 i had 230 tokens worth 250 per 10..

Once and for all.  The 2 factions hate each other, so obviously, gaining reputation with one would make you more detested by the other.

If you reach Exalted with Scryers you will be hated by Aldor, and vica versa. 

If you decide to switch factions, it will depend on what your previous reputation was at.  If you are friendly with Scyers, you will be unfriendly with Aldor.  If you are exalted with Scyers you will be hated by Aldor.  That means if you decide to switch factions, it will require more work to increase faction since you will be working from at LEAST Unfriendly status rather than friendly.

Word of advice, don't switch factions until you are level 70 and have nothing else to do in the game but grind rep.

Each faction, Scryer and Aldor, has differing ways to gain rep, but there is only one way each to change between them. Each side has a repeatable quest that will, with time, allow you to switch faction:

Scryer to Aldor: More Venom Sacs. Turning in stacks of 8 venom sacs gives you +250 Aldor Rep and -275 Scryer Rep. Eventually, you will reverse your rep and become friendly to Aldor.

Aldor to Scryer: More Basilisk Eyes. Turning in stacks of 8 basilisk eyes gives you +250 Scryer rep and -275 Aldor rep. Eventually you will reverse your rep and become friendly to Scryer.

Note that you will lose faction with your current one quicker than you gain with the other one, so you may be on bad terms with both for a while.

I would assume that, once you've gotten what you wanted from one side, if you are incredibly patient and like to grind a lot, you can eventually get everything you want from the other.

After choosing Scryers I knew that I made the wrong choice, so here's what I did to get back to Aldor.

As stated here there is a repeatable quest to gain honor for Aldor and you need to hand in your Dreadfang Venom Sac's 8 at a time to Sha'Nir in the lower city at round 64,16, Now you farm the Sac's at 55,57 from the spiders there.

I needed to hand in around 200 sac's to get Neutral so I could choose Aldor and that was with just the rep from choosing sides at the begining.

Once and for all, if you start out Scryers and rep all the way to Exalted, and you get all the recipes for your tradeskills, you will still be able to use them after grinding Aldor from Hated all the way to Exalted.  That is unless you are a complete idiot who bought the recipes and didn't try to actually learn them till you had lost your Scryers rep. 

Why do so many people not realize that on recipes, the faction requirement is only to LEARN the recipe, not to use it?

You better be careful which faction you pick... cause Everquest SUCKS!

Ok so i just spent 7 and 1/2 hours grinding the basiliks north of allerian stronghold in terrokar forest. I went from about 1/2 freindly with aldor to 108 neutral with scryers.

The drop rate at first was a constant 30ish percent, and then probability grabbed ahold of me stronger, the more i grinded.

It turned out to be a 26 percent droprate over 1109 kills and collecting 288 eyes. Overall I was able to kill 2.46 basiliks/minute. If you go clockwise around the river and cross where the bridge is they all respawn perfectly without having to wait around for them.

Once i turned them all in i was 108 into nuetral with scryers ( as stated before) i went back to the guy in the middle of shattrah, he said something like "now that you have chosen a side go speak with [blank] around scryers towers" or equivalent. Howver i did not get the automatic friendly status with scyers after talking to him ( like i did when i chose aldor to start), acutally i only got 11 scyer rep :(.

Hope this info helps. BTW this requires serious commitment. You have the ganking aspect from that area being quested in and just endless slaughtering of these basiliks.

People seem to still be having trouble figuring out whether to be scryer or aldor. From an end-game point of view, the only interesting rep items are the Inscriptions.

I don't know what the best inscription for your class is. I know I'm a resto druid, so I don't care about Mp5, and therefore the Aldor inscription is the one for me (Aldor is more healing but less mp5). Hopefully you have a similar command of your class, and can make an informed decision on Aldor v. Scryer based on the above data. Looking at only the inscriptions will help you make that decision.

The Inscriptions are the only BoP, irreplacable item...there's always better gear than the rep ones, you can always buy the items the patterns make, but there is no way to add stats to your shoulder other than through these inscriptions. Hope this helps.

Will scryers/aldor rep be useful when Lich King King comes out? I'm at revered now but i dont want to waste my time getting to exalted if its only gonna be useful till the xpansion comes out.
